@@_JANOSIK_ Try to build it by reducing the AA DMG taken by the planes when attacking and also take the +10% torpedo negation which does more DMG to the enemy ships. I managed to do more than 12k in each drop with that skill which is very helpful considering that the British CV gets a high DMG aerial torpedo
I think the Interceptor skill is mandatory with Enhanced Reaction, otherwise it's way too easy to bait them with fighters or shake them off again with fighters. (Personally, I rarely use my fighters for spotting anyways because they usually get shot down within a few seconds by everything but IJN DDs). Also the Enhanced Reaction skill actually makes it so you can intercept bombers. If the enemy CV is about to fly past you, you pop the fighter, it comes down and locks on. The enemy usually doesn't have time to leave the fighter's activation radius unlike with the standard fighters. Though, I think the Interceptors would need more health so they don't get shot down before the even arrive if there happens to be an enemy a bit too close when you try to defend an ally. Afterall, they can't spot anymore and therefore shouldn't be shot down so quickly anymore. I can also confirm the air superiority CVs work very well in ranked if the team doesn't spread too far apart. Went from 10-15 air-to-air kills (mostly fighters) to 30-40 (and all bombers because of Interceptor) with the enemy CV getting barely any damage or spotting in.
@toptier From experience... Patrol fighters allow spotting, patrol 60s, setup in around 5s, and lock on in 5s. (Good for area denial) Enhanced reaction reduces patrol time to 45s, take 7s to setup, but they lock on in about 1-1.5s. (Good for swatting planes trying to reset caps/ stop caps) Interceptors don't allow spotting, cannot engage or be engaged by enemy patrol/interceptors, but they are significantly faster allowing them keep up/catch bomber squadrons even if they're speed boosting. (You can't outrun them) which is a big boon as gains fast craft like German planes.
Enhanced reactions is imho pretty good for supporting DDs since fighters pretty much snap to target instantly. Plus i believe their speed was buffed so just tagging and dragging over AA no longer works as well for germans. Also interceptor is a trash perk since it gives you stats worth 1 point... for 3 points. And it makes them blind on top of everything. It'd be much better if they were immune to AA at the cost of being blind. That way they could be used to support ships in a brawl where normal fighters would die within a second of arrival.
When I read anti CV build I was expecting you to focus fire on CV lol, two games in a row I had 2 T10 MVRs sink my Hakuryū. I dropped planes on myself but with AA support running away from me they just sunk me early in game. The next day had another MVR try to sink me but this time a CO saw it and came up to provide AA support and saved me and we ended up winning the game. I am an average CV player, I am not a pro but I average 100k pts a game on my Hakuryū and I don't play selfish, I will spend time trying to help me team instead of focusing on raw damage. In fact most of my highest damage games (150k+) comes when my team is full of potatoes and I end up on the loosing side.
6:31 is the reason why 4-point flak damage negation perk is a must-have. Replaced torp defence negation with this one on my Haku after two games when my dive bombers were devastated with flak. Better be alive for one more drop than have slightly more damage per torp, I think
I think the first step of the anti-CV strategy is to observe where the enemy planes are coming from, and move your hull toward them. Your fighters don't do much good if you're not moving into lanes and areas where enemy planes are likely to be.
A potato build to counter potatoes. No unicum will ever fall for this and at most it will be annoying unless WG buffs these skills. Only real use of them is countering FDR
@Toptier There is a game mechanic that I found totally stupid. When you have fighters, the game will trade one fighter per bomber killed. So, even if you have top tier fighters and bombers are bottom tier, your fighters will not be able to kill more than one bomber per fighter. From that perspective, why don't you think it is useful to add another fighter?

Effectively, if there are already 9 fighters, one more will not make much difference. Regarding the game mechanic that trades one fighter for one bomber, are you sure it does not apply to any situation?

Have to say, it's very lucky that this video didn't end at 8th min. If Osterotland had any communication with the oppo CV, this video would not be existed. And as a CV player, I cannot think about any scenario this anti-cv build would be effective. It's a total crap disgusting either cv player in the match. I was caught by the fast fighters once, but there would not be any loss of planes if hit F fast enough. It would be a ton of waste of skill points and it directly loses attacking and scouting efficiency.
I like how most cv players would spam for help in the chat when they find a dd sneaking up on them, but top tier is like "nah I'll do it myself and none of my teammates will ever know that there's a dd over here"
Id like to use the support skills but they all seem pretty bad imo, enhanced reaction is the best one buy losing like 15sec of air time too? why?... fighters are already kind of ineficent, the best real uses are for helping a dd caping or spotting. I do think the fighter consumable mechanic sould be reworked to something like a flight path of some sort, where cvs could counter themselfs in a more interesting way.
MvR is a shadow of her former self after the reticle nerf, the bombs are too RNG dependent now, especially against cruisers. The flak resistance skill does benefit FDR quite a bit, though

The thing is co-op CVs are terrible in general, they drop way too late with rockets and bombs and almost always miss against even near stationary targets. They're only somewhat accurate with torpedoes. They don't dodge flak either, so most cruisers are effective against them

Angling to mitigate damage does little to nothing unless you flat out dodge the rounds, but thats more up to the cv player and how bad or good they are. It is game ruining levels of unacceptability.

Anty CV perks shine best in ranked. Also that patroling perk is extra nasty to deal with, but patroling planes on other hand drop from first AA fire.

its only the fighters that spawn from the cv and enterprize already has 9 or more fighters when using the consumables
