@@linas1319Hey! I have a question & you seem to know a lot about the esim. I’m about to get the iPhone14 & i’m hoping to make a new apple account, could I make my new account & still use the sim from my last phone? I’m worried if I do it will use the apple id from my old phone.
@@linas1319 Ok thank you! I am transferring from iPhone 7 to 14 so i currently don’t have an esim & American iPhone 14s don’t have physical sim cards so that’s that. But thank you for answering my question!
I have several phones I use (iOS and Android) and it is seamless to move a SIM card from one to another. I tried converting AT&T prepaid to eSIM on my Pixel 6 and it didn’t work. Thus I will hang on to the physical SIMs until carriers and handset manufacturers figure it out.
One thing to note which I was told multiple times while I waiting in line for my new iPhone, was to make sure that my current phone was updated to iOS 16. I wonder what percentage of people that had "problems" with eSIM also didn't have their phones updated.

I’ve been using E-Sim since my iPhone XS on ATT and now my iPhone 13, no problems. It was actually faster and easier to activate than a SIM card. I think your problem is with your carrier.

@@pattycarljackson this a RUclipsrs problem. They go back and forth between different phones frequently and swapping SIMs is easy. For regular people this isn’t an issue. I understand why Apple did this, but I think it is just too soon. A lot of carriers still need 1 or 2 years to make it totally seamless, maybe even longer internationally. But on the other hand, if Apple didn't force the issue, the carriers would sit on their hands. Clearly carriers like Visible have a lot of work to do. Having said that, personally, I wish things would just stay physical SIM. A friend googled the recovery method for me and I was able to get it back, but it made me really rethink the eSIM thing. With a physical SIM, I can just take it out of a broken phone and put it in a backup. With eSIM, if the source phone is busted, no way to move the eSIM without contacting the carrier. Could be a phone call (but your phone is busted) could be their app or website. But either way it's not trivial. I ended up returning the 14 PM and I transfered the eSIM back to my 13 Pro. Apple had to do it for the US carrier’s greed! The rest of the world’s carriers don’t care if you switch but nooooo the US carriers! So much for competitive choices….
Understand the frustration. They pulled the whole eSIM only route because all the carriers in the US support it. My experience with it has been seamless. I ended up going to eSIM when I had my iPhone 11 Pro because the physical SIM card was old and wouldn’t allow me to utilize data in places where I had full LTE on T-Mobile. The switch to ESIM was easy and of course with the help of the T-Mo rep. When I upgraded to the iPhone 13 Pro Max it was seamless again. Third time was on Visible with the Pixel 4a5G and that too was no problem and only took 5 minutes with following instructions through the Visible App. But yes a couple of friends recently had ESIM connection issues here and in the UK where they couldn’t connect. Hopefully they will iron out the kinks soon.
@@javiergomez1207 a friend of mine used mint. When he found out that they supported ESIM, he switched over and threw out the physical SIM card. He said that he is getting better coverage as well.
Luckily for me T-mobile was pretty seamless and quick, but I expected issues would be present since hundreds of thousands were all activated around the same timeframe
Straight talk literally had a step by step process on their website with no need to chat or call. My phone was activated within 5 minutes . I was worried at first baring all potential issues, but thankfully it went extremely smoothly.
Lucky. I’m going through it now, after having my brand new phone from Apple Store working for 2 months. Woke up last week to SOS. Called ST and talked to Raji and he said that I used IMEI instead of IMEI2 to setup my phone originally, and this is why it wouldn’t work. Couldn’t tell me why it worked perfectly for the past 2 months. Updated esim with IMEI2 # and problems persist. I’m going on 24 hrs from Raji’s supposed fix and still no phone. Absolutely pissed I spent $1500 on a paperweight. Plus $60 service w/Straight Talk. Moral of the story, even if it works, don’t count on it stating that way.
Visible esim here. Same experience ninja. Tried to switch on my own from esim which was already visible, number wasn’t available! Contacted CS waited for an hour + before finally getting someone to change my old imei to the new. New world problems. Bring back the sidekick and Nextel’s lol 🤓
Twice my iphone just stopped connecting to the internet. So no maps, uber, etc etc etc. Once I needed an Uber, the other time I lost a whole afternoon in New York City out of only two days, because I had to go back to my hotel and get online to get instructions on how to fix it. which had many steps to it, none of them worked. Finally, I had to do the reset 8 times before it worked. I even did the more complete reset (didn't work, just wiped out my stored passwords, which is a pain) . What good is an expensive iPhone Max if when you are traveling the social media, maps, lyfts, uber etc apps stop working randomly???? My android phones never once didn't work
I had a similar experience. I even regret buying the new phone because of this issue. But it worked out. Call carrier have then refresh service, on ur phone go setting, general, transfer and reset, reset, reset all esim. Then setting, cellular, add esim. Select carrier ✅.
I've been working on this problem (porting my 2 phone numbers from Verizon to Spectrum Mobile) for over 8 hours and counting. I'm actually on hold with Spectrum as I'm typing this comment. This is absolutely incredible to not be ready for this issue...unforgivable. Someone needs to be fired!!!
For international travel, just keep your older iPhone and your new phone. It will get better worldwide in the next 2-3 years, so we just have to adapt for that time. It will be great when the UK gets eSIM as I use my older phone for the more rugged experiences like hiking, and visits to the beach, and it is in a waterproof rugged case, which is a pain to keep removing every time I change SIMs back and forth. It will be fantastic to just go to my carrier app and swap eSIM between phones!
took minutes to activate esim on ATT iPhone 14. also took about five minutes to upgrade an iPhone 6 SIM to 12 with ESIM. love esim as I didn't have to get 5g SIM from carrier.
Dude. Visible activation was horrible. I literally had three devices set up to initiate a chat and I was kicked for the queue like 15 times before I got someone. When I did get the person, it was only a couple of minutes
I’ve been interested in the eSIM experience for a few years now ( and a little nervous because I switch between iOS and Android often)… and the line I used for the new Pro Max was coming from a fold 3. I waited until this morning to properly setup the phone and it worked flawlessly. ATT locked it in this time.
I recently bought one and I ported from lycamobile to mint mobile and porting and activation was in 10 mins and was super smooth. I didn't expect that quick activation. But yes I definitely miss the sim tray and not sure what to do when I visit India.
I’ve been using eSIM for a couple of years now in Norway without any problems. We just download the carriers app and within seconds it’s activated. So your problem is definitely your carrier not doing a good enough job with their app. If I want to swap to another phone I use the app again and boom, it’s activated. You should definitely complain to your carrier. Threaten your carrier to switch if they don’t take care of their crappy app.
Hi. I had an almost identical issue last week-I ordered my iPhone 14 but it's not due to come until NOV. So I decided to move my IPhone X Max Pro over to visible...a nightmare (everything Kevin said -I was w/o a phone for DAYS w/SOS and I'm a shrink so having a phone is VITAL). I assumed it was a VISIBLE problem (there were a LOT of activation issues w/visible so I cancelled moved to mint). Rinse repeat-but it FINALLY Worked (one of the problems was the "primary/secondary" phone -I still have NO clue what that means. I ordered physical sims for both visible (I'd prefer this carrier if it can work) and Mint but after listening here I realized that the physical sim won't work bc 14 doesn't have the tray! Kevin-this video was made 4 weeks ago-my problems were LAST week. Did you get everything sorted out??? I too had only the SOS thing on my phone! I'm worried about changing anything bc of this experience (mint is a pain bc it requires payment upfront BUT it has call in support as well as chat. VISIBLE is cheap bc NO call up -they refused to call me after THREE HOURS ON CHAT unless I had another phone with another number to call in with...). THoughts? I can't find any videos saying you resolved the problem. It sounds like this is an IOS 16 problem...thoughts?
I use two eSIMs, both identical number, one on iPhone 13 Pro Max, one on my Watch, as my primary (private) line and a physical SIM as my work line. Set up was easy on both iPhone and Watch. And for all those global travellers: get a god damn international eSIM, and top it up as needed for the country your are planning to visit. Has nobody heard about that?
@@Kernica1 that is actually incorrect. You can use an US phone overseas with local sims. As for traveling with esim, companies like Holafly sells esims for travelers. preload them before you arrive. Activate when you're at your destination. Only drawback of esims is if you enjoy going back to your phones with physical sims.
Excellent video, Man! I had very similar issues trying to activate with the same carrier. For me, the app made me wait to chat for 50 mins, then did a sign-in loop and kicked me out. I had to web chat like you and watch the window for another hour, before someone answered. I think they have to manually initiate a build of a new eSIM profile based on your IMEI. Then you have to do a clean install of the app (only after the new profile is created). Otherwise ur stuck. Absolutely should not have to be manually triggered by a rep. Still a way to go with eSIM, for sure!
I'm struggling with eSim activation with my carrier. The QR code given doesn't work with 14 Pro. It always says "Unable to Activate eSim" and doesn't even download the profile in the first place.
My local operator Vodafone Ukraine allows to switch eSIM between different phones only 3 times. And then you have to buy another one virtual eSIM and go to operator's store or office (with your ID card) to assign it to your phone number. I don't really know why this limitation exists and it was a surprise for me and after next phone switch I was left without working phone for couple hours. After that I switched back to physical SIM (chip) and will not switch to eSIM again while I'm able to use a chip.
Hey, I don’t know if this will help but it help me I’m on Visible as well. Try logging out of the app and then log back in and then it’ll ask you to resume where you left off
I’m with cricket wireless, I just received my iPhone 14 Pro off of Amazon. It is SIM unlocked. I could not get it to work with my net work. It kept saying the phone was not unlocked and it would not work with my carrier. I was on the phone with cricket wireless for an hour and a half, it would not work. I got off the phone with them. I thought I’ll just try restarting the phone and try again. It worked!! so if anyone is in a similar situation, try restarting the phone then try activating the ESim again.
What up my beautiful brother. Good to see you. I was about to get the 14 pro max but people are having problems with the cameras and other issues. I’m just gonna pass. After I bought a case and screen protector. I’m gonna wait for Pixel 7 - 7 pro. God bless you and your family always 😉👍🏽💯

im on my 3rd replacement. first one the esim would not activate on tmobile. returned and second phone activated, got home and saw massive screen discoloration, returned that one, tmobile blocks my account for fraudulant activity, refuses the esim and financing option and apple already recycled my 13pm i used as a trade in and they finally decided to accept my tmobile down payment and eat the rest of the phone. got home and doing my restore via my mac rn and its stuck in the restore. i hate this phone so much already. worst phone buying experience ive ever had.
Very sorry to hear about your experience. I had no issues from my 12 PM to 14 PM on Verizon, took about 3 minutes midday on Friday. Do you know if your carrier had Apple or Samsung watches? Those are all eSIM I believe. Hopefully they can get you working tomorrow!
I have been using Esim for few years now and I never had any issues - This is very strange for me - on top of that I travel for my work and I store so many esim QR codes on my mail so I can use that... never had any issues... Very strange...
I transitioned to eSIM with iPhone 12 Pro Max. Since I have a prepaid plan I ended up calling T-Mobile at around 1 PM on Friday. By 1:05 I had my plan activated on the new phone. It took them 30 seconds. I gave him me MIEI number and I was done.
Same thing happened to me with At&t. SOS on my both Iphone 13 pro and the new iphone 14 pro max. Did you try to reset your iPhone 14? That's what I did. This time I also didn't transfer any data from my old phone and started clean. After I did that and setting up, a message showed that a cellular plan is available and then I selected it. Finished setting that up and I got my plan finally transferred. Good luck bro.
I was going to upgrade my 11 pro to the 14 pro but I travel over seas a lot and I like switching the sim card between my S22 every few weeks. Best of both worlds. Looks like 100% android going forward... 😒
I was thinking the same thing when traveling. But I learned about purchasing data only esims from companies like Holafly. Load it up prior to your trip. Activate the esim when you've arrived at your travel destination. No need to hunt down sim card sellers or trying to find free wifi at cafes or hotels. Only problem I have is, I can't go back to my old phones, such as my older s20 without going back to VZW and asking for a new sim. I wonder if i can reuse my old sim that I have lying around? Or if it's deactivated, does it mean its already dead?
Having a similar process with Metro by T-Mobile. Definitely ruined my iPhone experience. Honestly thinking of returning this 14. I'm giving them until tomorrow evening to figure this out.
18 Jan 2024. Hi there. How is the eSIM and iphone 15. I'm some what tech savvy, but I have relatives, not so tech savvy, in different US states; with different MVNOs such as Mint Mobile, & Cricket who would need my help. What is the better option - to purchase unlocked iphone or iphone locked to a certain carrier/MVNO like Cricket ? Thank you.
I use cricket with my 13 pro max and will be upgrading all my lines to eSim. I noticed it is best to switch from pSim to eSim and then inform the carrier and update to i14. Someone from apple had told me about this
I tried eSim on Visible about 2 months ago with my Pixel 6a. The automated system did not say I would deactivate my physical sim in the process. So like you the eSim process didn't work. My 2 year old working sim was deactivated. So I had to wait 3 days to get another physical sim. No phone service. 🤬
sounds like you have a Visible problem not I phone . ever since Visible switch to their new plans they have been having porting problems. the problems the major carriers had were volume at iPhone event day .
As someone who travels a lot this is a problem. I usually get prepaid service when I’m abroad for however many days I’m going to be in that country, and right now many carriers don’t offer esim for prepaid accounts. So yeah, this wouldn’t work for me until that changes.
You're an eSIM rookie. eSIM has been around for years. 1) eSim profiles are cloneable 2) Most countries support atleast 1 carrier with eSIM. 3) You dont need an agent to self activate. All you need to do is access your account online and produce a QR code. 4) Also the porting page you shared has nothing to do with esim
The problem here is that if you haven't seen the teardown of the iPhone 14 series, it's literally a plastic filler where the sim slot would be in the US model. They had room and they should have waited until they actually made space for a bigger battery or better thermal system.
Just returned my 14 Plus after spending two days attempting to fix a message issue. Wasn't receiving most messages, and some messages were going to my old phone! It was too much hassle.
I can’t believe average people, not RUclipsrs, would buy an iPhone 14 when the eSIM situation was guaranteed to be a nightmare. I just bought an iPhone 13 and I won’t touch one of these eSIM only phones for at least four years. To hell with that.
Got my wife a new iphone for christmas, stuck with the esim not working, doesnt connect, now the carrier web site doesn't let me go into my account. Not sure if they think its fraud but it basically kicked me out from my own account. This is stupid AF and i've made the mistake of purchasing apple.
October 2023. One year from this video and the eSim problem is still a nightmare. In upgrading my wife's iphone 8 to an iphone SE3, all 3 of our tmobile phone numbers were messed up. She received my number making my phone unusuable. 3rd line, a line link sim also was no longer regonized. 6 hours back and forth with T-Mobile Tech and we fiinally have the correct phone numbers on the proper phones. Hiwever on the T-Mobile web site they display a Moto phone for me (I have a Pixel 7) and the 3rd line line link is still not working making our landline inoperable. What a nightmare eSims caused
The thing about being "automatic" is, it's much harder to troubleshoot when something goes wrong. The more automatic a procedure is, the harder to fix it, if something goes wrong.
Man I have a unlocked S20+ from US Cellar, well Iv used it on Verizon and At&t and I went to us tmobile test drive and it had me do the esim... well when I done it , everything was fine.. ran perfectly well I decided to go back to us Cellar.. and when I did it said my phone was locked to tmobile... even tho I deleted the esim.. it gave my phone two Imei numbers.. the original us Cellar imei and a tmobile imei.. and I can't remove the 2nd imei number that tmobile put on my phone.... so now it's locked to tmobile even tho it's not a tmobile phone... it's fckn ridiculous
Apple absolutely pulled the SIM cards to make money. It kills the 2nd hand phone market. Apple wants you to buy a new phone from them, not someone on Facebook.
As someone who bounces between phones, I am not pleased switching to eSim. My iPhone 14 PM setup was flawless and eSim activated perfectly BUT I am still afraid it’ll be a pain in the future if I want to swap primary phones.
I don't personally care to a point about the e sim capabilities of phones. Though I will say I'm curious if it'll give these carriers even more control over the device which gets activated through their network. A lot of phones don't have the capability built into their software for it.
I had slight issues activating my 14 Pro but it was my own fault. I still had find my still on on my old phone so it failed. Called the number provided and it walked me through the process and sent me a link to activate. Took about 30 minutes
When your account gets hacked, it’s easy to now. Transfer your phone to another phone because you haven’t got a eSIM which you normally might have to get when you go to the phone store.
The thing is if “that” carrier wasn’t ready to handle a large influx of activations over a busy launch season that’s more of a carrier issue then the iPhone. I have Verizon and it activated in seconds, but there are a lot of carriers that have activation barriers based on the kinds of plans they have, or they are on Pre pay not post pay which can limit how they activate the phone. But the ESIM itself honestly isn’t to blame. You could have a physical SIM and have these same kind of issues because it’s a matter of the carrier validating the new sim in your phone, or the new devices IMEI This really isn’t anything new
To be fair this is a product of crappy, prepaid carriers. I’m not surprised you ran into a bunch of issues. If you have any of the big three it’s flawless. I’ve been on Eason with T-Mobile since 2018 with the iPhone XS Max. Everybody else I talk to on the other carrier seem to have had no issue at all.
Not entirely flawless. I’m on t-Mobile and it took a good little while to finally get number transferred over to new phone. There was nothing flawless about the whole thing.

Apple screwed up taking the SIM card away. They should take a hit from Samsung with their S23 Ultra that will be coming out with dual SIM card support and the ability to aggregate bands from both SIM cards to add up the data speed from the 4 best cellular bands across two carriers on separate SIM cards. Apple is just moving further into the past while taking away features and Samsung innovating and moving into the future.
I work in wireless selling Verizon. I’ve activated roughly 100 iPhone 14s since last week. Not a single issue for me or any of my co workers. You’ll have the case by case issues with any carrier but I think you’re specific issue is with visible.

The first woman we spoke to told my wife to delete her esim and they would email a QR code to my phone to activate my wife’s phone. But it didn’t work. Then they forwarded us to the tier 2 department. And that young lady was very rude and laughing at us and speaking in another language to people sitting around her. That young lady said there was both else she could do . So she said she put in a order to the tech department and it would be 3 days before they could resolve it. This crazy. We paid 1200 dollars for these phones and my wife can’t even use hers

If your iphone isn’t working have you tried resetting the phone to Factory Settings? This should fix it. Then go back to your eSIM app and start again. Even if you are swapping devices it makes no difference. Just log in via the App on the device to get to the original QR Code and reload the eSIM. You must make sure you are on a stable WiFi while you install the eSIM as it is changing the phone settings. Any interruption in this process by intermittent connection will give the problem you have.

I am so pissed off at Apple that I’m seriously thinking about switching back to Android ,,, I have multiple iPhones and can no longer switch between my iPhones. To get my 14 Plus activated I had to physically go to my local T-Mobile store as the the sim would not transfer from my 13 Mini, even after I had my 13 Mini changed over to being esim from a physical sim. Hopefully they will iron out the kinks soon.
had to switch from simple mobile to tmobile just for the esim, otherwise i would ne perfectly fine with simple mobile
@@javiergomez1207 a friend of mine used mint. When he found out that they supported ESIM, he switched over and threw out the physical SIM card. He said that he is getting better coverage as well.
So if I get the 14 pro Max, is it easily to switch between the Max and Pixel 6? Without calling in?
NO REVIEWER is talking about that.
my iphone 14 pro max was working fine till ios 16.0.3 came out and completely fucked my phone up
@@MrGeek847 look up Mike drops tech! Just saw his video and he swapped from iPhone to pixel 7 pro. Looked painless
Luckily for me T-mobile was pretty seamless and quick, but I expected issues would be present since hundreds of thousands were all activated around the same timeframe
Great video Kevin, man I am sorry that you are experiencing this. Thanks for sharing it with us 💪🏽
Straight talk literally had a step by step process on their website with no need to chat or call.
Got a new phone an since it’s esim it’s linked to another carrier there’s no way i can get it unlocked ?
This was my first time using Esim and the process went smoothly. I like this approach compared to the physical sim
Some people rely on carrier trade ins for new phones so this isn’t a good step forward just yet
This was the practice before LTE on Verizon and I dont want to do it. No.
took minutes to activate esim on ATT iPhone 14. also took about five minutes to upgrade an iPhone 6 SIM to 12 with ESIM. love esim as I didn't have to get 5g SIM from carrier.
Sooooo you can’t swap anymore?
@@MrGeek847 technically you can… but much more of a pain I imagine…
@@SilentRunnerSpeaks whats the process if you wanted to change phones? I have not heard of this process yet.
Threaten your carrier to switch if they don’t take care of their crappy app.
i finally got my phone activated today it was a long process and had to switch carriers but now i’m happy to have it working
Is there any fix to this? going on day 5 of no cell service on my IP 14promax...
Over 30 hours of tech support/ phone calls. no help at all.
AT&T has had me factory reset. They have "Made top priority tickets" then I never hear anything...
That sucks
I'm worried about changing anything bc of this experience (mint is a pain bc it requires payment upfront
BUT it has call in support as well as chat. VISIBLE is cheap bc NO call up -they refused to call me after THREE HOURS ON CHAT unless I had another phone with another number to call in with...). THoughts? I can't find any videos saying you resolved the problem. It sounds like this is an IOS 16 problem...thoughts?
I feel that bro! It took me over 48 hours to get my phone up and running smh
In iOS 16.3.1 iPhone 12 I'm missing add esim in my phone, so I can't use esim, are u have solution?
It always says "Unable to Activate eSim" and doesn't even download the profile in the first place.
do you know how too go in to the settings celluar and hit add esim I noticed that you never mentioned this in your video
Easy: to scam you out of more money
Appreciate you sharing your experience with us bro. Hopefully it will get resolved quickly.
This is why I kept my iPhone 8 when I upgraded to my iPhone 11 Pro. I traded up my iPhone 11 pro to a 13 pro. Its had a year to resolve any outstanding issues. I am now good till 2028. This will be iPhone 20! If anything goes wrong i Have my iPhone 8 with a sim card I can activate for a few more years. It will get iOS 16 and still be good emergency phone until 2028
How did you find out how long your phone will be able to get the iOS updates?
@@1of1.32 Its on the Apple web site somewhere.
Activated mine on release date on T-Mobile early afternoon and had not have issues with it since the start. Took 2-3 minutes. Still miss the confidence of having a sim slot.
Im thankful for Us Mobile. Very easy process
im on my 3rd replacement. first one the esim would not activate on tmobile. returned and second phone activated, got home and saw massive screen discoloration, returned that one, tmobile blocks my account for fraudulant activity, refuses the esim and financing option and apple already recycled my 13pm i used as a trade in and they finally decided to accept my tmobile down payment and eat the rest of the phone. got home and doing my restore via my mac rn and its stuck in the restore. i hate this phone so much already. worst phone buying experience ive ever had.
Very sorry to hear about your experience. I had no issues from my 12 PM to 14 PM on Verizon, took about 3 minutes midday on Friday. Do you know if your carrier had Apple or Samsung watches? Those are all eSIM I believe. Hopefully they can get you working tomorrow!
iPhone to iPhone tho.
Wait, I live in the Philippines and maybe we're waaaayy behind, but the U.S. sims don't store your numbers and your contacts anymore?
its been pretty much just your basic information held on the sim since smart phones became popular
Or if it's deactivated, does it mean its already dead?
would this work for cricket wireless as well
I am going to drive to Canada and get one when I have time. Delay as long as possible not having a physical SIM card.
Having a similar process with Metro by T-Mobile. Definitely ruined my iPhone experience. Honestly thinking of returning this 14. I'm giving them until tomorrow evening to figure this out.
How’d it work out?
?
I have visible and ran into the EXACT same thing. Took 3 hours too reach support and get it transferred over
18 Jan 2024.
Hope you got your phone working!
As someone who travels a lot this is a problem. I usually get prepaid service when I’m abroad for however many days I’m going to be in that country, and right now many carriers don’t offer esim for prepaid accounts. So yeah, this wouldn’t work for me until that changes.
I guess T-Mobile feels sorry for us old timers. Mine took about 20 seconds. I pray yours gets straightened out quickly.
You're an eSIM rookie. eSIM has been around for years.
1) eSim profiles are cloneable
2) Most countries support atleast 1 carrier with eSIM.
3) You dont need an agent to self activate. All you need to do is access your account online and produce a QR code.
4) Also the porting page you shared has nothing to do with esim
"apple is not doing this to make money" of course not.
Hm I have Verizon and I’ve been able to jump in and out of esim and jump back in with no problems
I can’t believe average people, not RUclipsrs, would buy an iPhone 14 when the eSIM situation was guaranteed to be a nightmare. I just bought an iPhone 13 and I won’t touch one of these eSIM only phones for at least four years. To hell with that.
Cant use the phone overseas if its locked so not upgrading from 12max. Not going tp pay 10 a day overseas.
I had zero issues with T-Mobile. I just logged into my account and followed the steps. Took maybe 3 minutes total. I switched from an Android too.
Got my wife a new iphone for christmas, stuck with the esim not working, doesnt connect, now the carrier web site doesn't let me go into my account. Not sure if they think its fraud but it basically kicked me out from my own account. This is stupid AF and i've made the mistake of purchasing apple.
There was activation issues on some phones. Apple addressed this by releasing an update. Plug your phone into iTunes and update it then try again
That’s crazy 🤦🏾♂️ Apple just need to leave stuff alone
Oooof. Sorry to hear. This year has been smooth for me.
This happened to me with mint mobile I had to google the codes I needed to manually activate the e sim through settings
My problem is my physical sim stopped working after e-sim
I had the same issue. I am with visible. They had to redownload the esim to my new phone.
Bro ik this is completely off topic but i just realized when you screen record on it the dynamic island is there
Apple absolutely pulled the SIM cards to make money. It kills the 2nd hand phone market. Apple wants you to buy a new phone from them, not someone on Facebook.
One year later still have this problem
The is exact issue happened with my watch series 7. I was switching from. Series 5.
As someone who bounces between phones, I am not pleased switching to eSim. My iPhone 14 PM setup was flawless and eSim activated perfectly BUT I am still afraid it’ll be a pain in the future if I want to swap primary phones.
Damn bruh sounds like a massive pain and inconvenience 😭 hoping all is well 🙏🏽
Iphone have a long record of locking users onto their products till the end of time.
So sorry for your unfortunate experience. I hope you get it sorted out soon. 😢
You could have a physical SIM and have these same kind of issues because it’s a matter of the carrier validating the new sim in your phone, or the new devices IMEI
This really isn’t anything new
Interesting things about iphone 14 esim is that it can hold 14 ESIM carriers.
You can switch over to one carrier to another.
@@ISleepAndIKnowThings No, there will always be an unlucky few with issues; that is the way with tech. For many years 30% of Dell laptops were duds. Expectations have to be realistic.
Same experience with Verizon today, was hoping they had this thing figured out by now. Neither one of my phones work, will be without a phone for at least 24 hours.
How long were you with out a phone. My wife and I both have Verizon both switched at the same time. Mine was smooth hers was not.
@@davids6075 Ended up being about 21 hours, but that was because I kept calling until I connected with a competent rep. The problem was fixable in the 1st few hours, but no one was willing to work towards a solution. It was the IMEI 2.
@@Ballstar1982 that’s crazy man. The guy at the Verizon store called someone at Verizon this afternoon and fixed it in about an hour. They said it was the imei2 aswell
I lost my phone number doing the esim activation transfer took 2 weeks, and was sent a sim card
I had no problem with AT&T. It went through flawlessly.
My wife and I both had our iPhone 14 pro maxs activated at the Verizon store. A few days later my wife tell s me she can’t send or receive pictures from non iPhones. So we went back to the Verizon store and they told us we had to call our provider which is Verizon.
You might keep your iPhone 13 mini , iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro , iPhone 13 Pro Max sim card for international travel your still going to get security updates from Apple you can always wait until the iPhone 15 for for everyone to those upgrade to newest iPhones some carriers are not already for Esim including prepaid carriers that change incoming months
Using an esim on my iPhone 11 since 2020. No issues at all.
I’ll stick with the iPhone 13 max with a regular Sim card
Settings go to cellular service and make sure it's on the right thing or cell.
I had this same issue with mint and verizon on a iphone 14 . This sux i dont even want esim i want the card slot back im gonna leave apple if they dont put it back
It was very easy for me using tello sim card. it took hardly 10 mins. While chatting with the customer support itself I got the QR code and activated the sim.
Apple claimed the esim would be easy, it hasn’t been and Apple never mentioned what a nightmare it would be switching between iPhones that are both esim.
I’m so sorry I bought the 14, I want my money back Apple or an exchange for a regular size 13 or 13 Max.
I’m also pissed at Apple for not making a 14 Mini !!!!
Currently I’m using my 13 Mini while my 14 Plus is inactive.
This is a TMobile issue not an iphone issue. They disabled online swapping due to "security" so every time you want to swap the eSIM you have to go to the damn store
