Love this korero! Got my mind going off!!!
We, as people from Aotearoa no matter where you whakapapa back from, our whenua has oppression in it. Period. We have forgotten the definition of words we use and got use to the western way. People from our land are NATURAL communicators from the heart. But paper evolutionary systems tell us we are bad, loud, criminal, naughty, and we get told that what we are doing is wrong, but what "they're" really saying is "Your originality is going to outshine me, and I can't let that happen, so I'm going to say something to make you feel that who you really are, is not 'good enough', and if you ever gain your confidence back again, I will use my words to make you FEEL like you're back 'down there' again"
This is why this korero and your music is powerful!
Being humble should be used when people deliver 'credit' to you. Opression is the emotion our people feel when someone or something is trying to tear your natural self down with an unjust treatment and have power over you. Being real and authentic is about being brave enough to TELL THE TRUTH, and use it with radical candor. Our Maori and Pasifc people were born trait this but time and "new ways" have distracted us, and taken that privilege away.
Your music is the frequency that brings our people back to the balance.
Thank you for reminding all of us who they are meant to become.
Nga mihi.
Much love team. Thanks for having us.
💥💥💥💥💥💥
Much love to you legends
THANK THE LAWDDD YA'LL BACK!!! and if ya'll struggling with perfection just drop lil mixtapes here and there to feed the streets and I hope ya'll know aint nobody on your level out here. Also this is a bit random lol but I've always had this idea of a pt.2 to the song "Prospect" by Nesian Mystic, with the kid from the song all grown up and he's made it out the hood, ya'll + Awa singing the hook? just an idea lol. cant wait for more music!
We are Polynesians who should support each other in entertainment, sports, academics, and business. The colonizers hate to see us succeed, and that's why the media targets us.
