Indeed. Truth be told, before I updated this new unit, the green tint issue seemed to be a tad bit more intense. Nintendo might have stealthily attempted to "fix" it with the latest update. At the end of the day, the issue still exists.
hey! i’m getting my first ever switch but am contemplating between v2 and oled. can i have some of ya’ll’s input because at this point i have no freaking idea
I guess it depends on how you're gonna use it. If you will mainly use your device in hendheld mode, then I recommend the OLED. The screen is way better than the V2's (despite the green tint issue). But if you will dock your Switch and primarily use it as a home console, get the V2 and you'll save a lot of money as well.
Generally, no. (although there are instances during gameplay that I notice it. For example, when playing NBA 2K22 at low brightness, I notice that the court's colors are uneven)
No, I will live with this current unit. The process here in my country for refunds and replacements takes way too long and compared to my old unit, the defect on this new one is barely noticeable. Now I will just move on and hope that the next generation of the switch would not be plagued with annoying hardware issues. I purchased it from a store named "Datablitz" here in the Philippines.

No, they didn't. Thank goodness. This new unit has a different serial number and I asked them to upload the save files from my old unit to the save data cloud so I think that's enough proof that this isn't the same unit.
So, all nintendo switch oled units have green tint issue, but they’re have different amount of it, i already using my switch for play some games and i didn’t notice it at all, green tint only visible when your brightness is under 50%, but who the hell using switch in a dark room with low brightness? That’s bad for your eyes, we have to live with green tint and turn on your lights before playing games 😂
We didn’t notice it when we didn’t know the issue, but after we know the issue, we notice it. So the conclusion is, green tint is visible in all of switch oled around the world, but you will notice it when u know it from the internet, but if u didn’t know it, u mostly didn’t see any green tint cause normally u’re using your switch brightness more than 50%

Yes it does but it is barely noticeable. You're only gonna see it if you constantly search for it. I am convinced that all devices are like this, with some being more harsh than the others.
Nintendo is notorious for having green tint screens since the days of the New 3DS XL. It is basically a lottery. I stopped buying Nintendo consoles and instead I just emulate them using Yuzu. LOL 😂
@@Lalovoe the guy just does not know what he’s talking about. It is an OLED screen, but seems it’s quite cheap, as most cheap panels have this issue. I’m not sure why this happens on the cheaper screens, but I guess because the process of placing a color mask on the LEDs (Shadow Mask Patterning) just isn’t as accurate as it could possibly be. Basically because of the error, some pixels can become tinted and if you don’t calibrate the screen properly, you just see all the manufacturing errors while using the end product. PlayStation Vita also had this issue on the original OLED panel. I would want Nintendo to not cheap out on the display, but considering the console is re-designed and got a new screen for just 50$ on top, I guess it just could be expected. Anyways cheap OLED is way better than cheap IPS LCD, IMO.
Even considering this issue, do you still prefer this screen over the OG switch LCD panel in low light? (where the tint is visible) We have a worn down OG switch in my family and I've experimented with using it to play when the sun is down and the screen is quite fine, in my opinion. Not great, but good enough, especially once the whole panel warms up to where the "scanlines" disappear, after 5 or so minutes of use. (this might just be due to the age of the console) You would think that, especially in low light, the blacks on the OG LCD must be really bright in comparison to the OLED, but I find that my brain realizes parts of the image are supposed to be black and almost fills in the rest, making them appear black in contrast to the rest of the image. Like an optical illusion. Of course, when the whole screen is black, the LCD backlight is a lot more noticeable since there is no distinguishable contrast in the image.@@mikuri_13
Then why does it still show green tint atmax brightness or all bright ess levels on mine and a few others I have seen? Also, like the others have said, I use oled on everything and the switch is the only device with a trash screen.

Yo! I've been using my Switch heavily these past few months. Generally, it's a non issue. However, there are instances where I kinda notice it.
Are you going to try to get a refund ? Where did you purchase your switch ?
No, I will live with this current unit. The process here in my country for refunds and replacements takes way too long and compared to my old unit, the defect on this new one is barely noticeable. Now I will just move on and hope that the next generation of the switch would not be plagued with annoying hardware issues. I purchased it from a store named "Datablitz" here in the Philippines.

Sure bro go ahead! Thank you for letting me know.

No, they didn't. Thank goodness. This new unit has a different serial number and I asked them to upload the save files from my old unit to the save data cloud so I think that's enough proof that this isn't the same unit.
@@offlinemeeting Upload some video bro using white theme also, so the people will know that the green tint issue also exist using white theme :(
So, all nintendo switch oled units have green tint issue, but they’re have different amount of it, i already using my switch for play some games and i didn’t notice it at all, green tint only visible when your brightness is under 50%, but who the hell using switch in a dark room with low brightness? That’s bad for your eyes, we have to live with green tint and turn on your lights before playing games 😂
We didn’t notice it when we didn’t know the issue, but after we know the issue, we notice it. So the conclusion is, green tint is visible in all of switch oled around the world, but you will notice it when u know it from the internet, but if u didn’t know it, u mostly didn’t see any green tint cause normally u’re using your switch brightness more than 50%
it's unfortunate that the consumers are left to simply turn a blind eye towards this huge fail on Nintendo's end
Even at 100% brightness the games which have caves or night time will show green instead of darker shades of black
Lol by the end of the video you can clearly see the green tint still there by looking at the shadows..

Good decision tbh
This is not real oled. It is hybrid oled. Not 100% oled.
I'm interested in your point. Can you please elaborate?
Thank you so much for clarifying and explaining.@@mikuri_13
Even considering this issue, do you still prefer this screen over the OG switch LCD panel in low light? (where the tint is visible)
We have a worn down OG switch in my family and I've experimented with using it to play when the sun is down and the screen is quite fine, in my opinion. Not great, but good enough, especially once the whole panel warms up to where the "scanlines" disappear, after 5 or so minutes of use. (this might just be due to the age of the console)
You would think that, especially in low light, the blacks on the OG LCD must be really bright in comparison to the OLED, but I find that my brain realizes parts of the image are supposed to be black and almost fills in the rest, making them appear black in contrast to the rest of the image. Like an optical illusion. Of course, when the whole screen is black, the LCD backlight is a lot more noticeable since there is no distinguishable contrast in the image.@@mikuri_13
That is normal for OLED panels when the screen brightness is reduced below 50%
not on my samsung oled phone
No it is not. I have an OLED Samsung phone and an OLED samsung TV. Zero green tint.
Then why does it still show green tint atmax brightness or all bright ess levels on mine and a few others I have seen? Also, like the others have said, I use oled on everything and the switch is the only device with a trash screen.
Shit up its not
