Looking at this literally has tears rolling down my cheek man .... thanks so much for sharing this! I LOVED this show and I loved all of the music of the 80's!!!!!!
So hard to choose just one segment of Tony and Alex's duets as their best because there are so many. For me, Mirror Mirror stands outduring Season 2. But during Season 1 they did awesome dancing to "Tell It Like It Is."
Kool and the gang the guest singer in solid gold countdown 81 sings number 40 songs celebration with the solid gold dancers. Host andy gibb and marilyn mcCoo solid gold.
How about FINALLY adding the full and entire Solid Gold Countdown '81 Special??? You recently added the full and entire Solid Gold Countdown '82 Special. Just saying. Thanks.
@lbCharmed1 It is so obvious that ALex/Tony had classical dancer training. Can;t say the same for Mark/Cooley. although both were good, they were sloppy in many ways too!
Andy Gibb had more hit in the USA than the UK. Marilyn mccoo had a hit in the UK in 1977 called you don't have to be a star to be in my show I think it's was a duet with Billy Davis.
Because either I can't use the clip because the music company won't allow it to be used if they didn't paid for use or the dancers weren't in it. This channel focuses on the Solid Gold Dancers.
80s were the best ... thank you for sharing

This was the point in the show's history where it truly got awesome.
My favorite song back in 1981 was "Rapture" by Blondie and to this day, it is still my favorite Blondie song.
Amazing.. thank you.
You're welcome!
That "Stop Draggin My Hart Around" number is one of their more awesome perfomances. Agreed!
One of my favorite numbers has to be of Alex and Tony in this countdown. They worked so well together...

Yes we did. Unfortunately, with the time constraints I chose to limit my videos to dancer footage and the No.1 performance. Sorry!
You're VERY welcome!

She was also a member of the 5th Dimension, that had numerous hits, including 2 # singles here in the U.S. :-)
How come some numbers are skipped here?

What happened to 39?
It was probably a performance by the band that didn't have the dancers in it.
your welcome
I really wished , they done the performances live instead of lip syncing , it would been better , maybe lasted longer !
This show would be great if they got rid of the dancers.
