I love that guitar tone. I grew up on As I Lay Dying and the guitar tone just matches it perfectly.

It's actually the same tone and mix template that I used on Where The Dead Dwell. I didn't do anything special or try to match As I Lay Dying at all. I think it's mostly just the type of riffs and the way they are played.
I just checked here is the tone:
EQ boosting the high mids and highs on the DI to give it more bite.

I bypassed the cab from that and went into the cab for the Bogren Digital MLC plugin.
In terms of mixing just tons of mids and a little bit of high end, control the low end on the chugs and maybe use something like AXX compressor and set it to moderate. I actually just released a mixing course that goes over all of this on my website I will make a post about it soon.

If you're going for Technical Deathcore I kinda had an idea. Have you heard of this Industrial Techno Like Group called Asphyxia I used to listen to them ten years ago the three songs I liked from them were Sense of Decay, Painful Process, Digital War. Painful Process was my first of all then Sense of Decay came after.....
I'm saying if you do spin for Technical Deathcore use those sounds from Asphyxia Painful Process and Sense of of Decay
And I'm still thinking of that Power Metal with Vocals for Custom (Riding/Fighting For Victory)
