5k is a good rule of thumb BECAUSE no matter what kind of driving you are doing, it’s not to long of a time or to short of time to go without an oil change. If you don’t have a race car or you aren’t towing literally all the time anything more than 5 k is bad maintenance anything before 5k is a waste of money
@JW Montoya green belt is all I run.. my escalade is running a vortech v3 supercharger.. it's only a 6 rib belt.. had so belt slip .. switched to the green belt and solved it
@@rexgratteaux8655 Do you happen to know the parts number for the green Gates HD belt?? Everytime I look it up it gives me a bunch of different numbers, thanks
On the 2004.5 LLY motor there was a TSB for the exact noise you have. If I remember correctly the pulley on the power steering pump was either in or out to far. Once the dealership adjusted the pulley the noise never returned in the 100,000 miles I had the truck.
Am I needlessly changing oil if I rarely use a vehicle. How many years can it last just mostly sitting with maybe 500 miles on it? They say one year. lol. Does synthetic make a difference. Getting ready to change out now on my Ram SRT-10 that has 10 year old barely used oil now.
Take a look at the power steering pully. Is the pully flush with the pump shaft? If not pull the pully off till it is flush or push it on till it is. Otherwise it will squeak again eventually. I promise!
Never used ac delco for belts..Gates on belts and all the pulleys..zero issues...Fumoto valve for oil drain..less mess...shocking to see that factory plug in oil pan..fumoto valve, zero mess!!
My guy you spent $80 on a belt? You could of went to an auto parts store and got the same thing for much cheaper why would you go to a dealership for a belt
@@JWMontoya just ask for an acdelco belt from a parts store it's the same thing but the dealership puts a huge markup on it. Could of gotten the exact same belt genuine acdelco from a parts store and saved $60
I can't remember if it was this truck that got the red head steering gear box but I was wondering if that's still working for you because my steering sucks 😂

2.5 gallon jug of mobil delvac 15-40 $31 and mobil oil m1-303a $10 ..05 LLY zero issues 377,557 miles and counting
Did you use the black diamond or the 1 down from that.

Actually have Fumoto valve for the Denali 🤟
Best to just change the belt, idlers, and tensioner at the same time.
All replaced in that order 2 years ago with less than 3,000 miles. Back to the belt now which fixed it
Have you check the idler
All of that has been replaced
Hey JW, who did your tuning? Currently building an LLY shooting for around 700whp, can’t find a good tuner
I didn't know hotshot made oil just learned something
They have the best oil IMO

Bc I like to stick to genuine AC delco parts, especially for a truck that’s given away

Rub some dish detergent on the drive side of the belt problem solved
Of course it made it quite,he adjusted valves!!
