    A great video of the fun to be had supporting aviation events and the air racing out there at Reno was super cool, I managed to see only one day when we were out there with the RAF and had three days off to drive over and it was worth it.

    Such a great episode Lars. I think this video really captures what it is really like to be a pylon judge at the National Championship Air Races. I am going to miss Reno and the September family so much. I am hopeful for Roswell and the family that will form there. Looking forward to seeing all of you that I have worked with and have had the opportunity to know over the years.

    Well done!! It captures the Reno Race Vibe. Great production, awesome SOUND,. I really liked the people running the pylons with their wings extended. I can't believe what those young brave guys and gals were doing with those cool aircraft in the 1940's.and It was a really special event. to highlight those Aircraft in this day and age.

    This was a rollercoaster ride. I’ve only been able to attend one race ever, and it was at New Century Air Center, in Olathe, KS. Strega won, and after everyone had left, even ESPN, my dad and I approached Tiger. He gave me his personal crew hat and signed it.
    I always wanted to go to Reno, but never made it.
    Will all the pylon crews get their same pylons at Roswell!?

    • @low_lead
      @low_lead  2 месяца назад

      That's pretty cool! Strega was always a blast to watch. Hopefully, someday, we will get to see it fly again.
      As for what will happen at roswell I have no idea. I know some of the pylon judges will not be returning, and we will probably get some new judges. So it'll probably change a bit. As it will be a whole new course.

    I hate to see them go. I’ve been going ever since I got my Commercial Pilot’s License in 1987. I knew when they first started letting people build housing around that race area that soon they would be forced out. They were great and they inspired lots of young people to get into aviation .

    Cool video, but even cooler annual get together. Are you scheduled to be judges at Roswell?

    • @low_lead
      @low_lead  3 месяца назад

      It's a pretty special event. Scheduling for the roswell pylon judges hasn't begun yet, but my little gang is all planning to continue to volunteer as judges. So there is a very high probability that we will all get on the roster again.

    • @low_lead
      @low_lead  2 месяца назад +1

      @RickC-y1x there isn't an apartment building any where near close enough for that to happen... and even the few single family homes near the race course have never been in the flight path of the race courses. This sounds like the nightmare fantasy of someone with an ax to grind. And not actually based on any real understanding.
