All of them fascinated me, each in their own way. 😍

I tend to agree with you 😉 No matter what the outcome, it is always worth trying to keep learning 🤎

Definitely was very enjoyable to see you stack your bundle...like a carefully constructed Lasagna 🫣. The result is just flabbergasting. The Maple leaf ones are truly pieces of art. And always love what iron does on watercolor paper as well. Very much enjoyed this travelling Color Quest video! Thank you X

Yum! I also loved the maple leaf results and absolutely adore using iron in my practice to add so much depth. Wish you could have joined us in BC, but will cross fingers our road trip north through this country will happen one of these days 😊

you got some stunners! :) Yeah totally agree - think the stack needed to be pressed together more tightly! I wonder if you left the lighter prints in a mixture of tea and iron to soak a while if it would bring out more of the print? xxx

Thank you so much! I know the tightness of the bind is so important, but I struggle with that too. I'm going to remember that today as I work on next week's video 😉 Great suggestion on the light prints - will definitely give that a try and maybe even film it!

How exciting - welcome to Color Quest 🌼 Yes - rinsing is always an important step to remove excess plant bits and residual iron which helps with keeping the fiber's integrity over time. Thanks for asking since I didn't show it in the video!

I tried several times eco print on paper and never had much luck with the maple leaf. I can't use rusted iron as I get itchy.

Thanks for sharing your experience with maple leaves, Hilda. I consider myself quite a novice in the world of botanical printing, so I'm always thrilled when I get a beautiful surprise like the maple prints from this video. Sorry to hear iron is off the list for you as I definitely love the effect. Which leaves are the stars in your practice?

@@MargaretByrdColorQuest I am a novice too! I used to live in Canada and I loved trying ecoprint on paper, I think one of the reasons I did not get a good print was because I didn't steem/boiled enough time. Now I live in México and I haven't done ecoprinting. I am identifiying the plants before I try anything. Let you know when I try it!

@@hildacasas8764 From Canada to Mexico...wow! What part are you living in? I am a huge fan and have explored many areas as I thought it might be a place I would eventually live in my later years. Definitely heat & time can make such a huge difference depending on the plant itself. I'm going to work today with fern for next week's video, so will be interested to see how the steaming goes. If you find some incredible printing plants in Mexico, please share!
