Well done Patrick! You’re doing so well. It’s truly horrific. On the 04.06.2024 I tapered down from diazepam 5mg to 3.5mg. It was utter torture for 12 days. I’m steady atm. I do pray for you and will continue to. I journal everything, too.
    I’m an Author, Poet & Writer, I’ve been journaling since I was 15. I’m 53 now.
This med should be totally ill@gal. Truly. I want to raise awareness, once I’m fully recovered to get this off the market and raise awareness.
I have my own RUclips channel. There are many means I can use including working with my Dr. He literally weans people off her@in and he’s shared with me this is so much worse, weaning off benzos. There’s so much I can share, but it’ll be too long.
So I take the first dosage at 11am 2.5 and 6pm is my next dosage. I just started, through Dr Barbara 0’Neil, using H@mp gummies. They’re so good for sleep. Barbara is magnificent regarding healing the body through natural means for meds and bad habits/diets, illnesses, etc. She’s an Australian, too. There’s also another Australian Dr I can refer you to, he lives in America, Dr Josef, he’s a psychiatrist and specifically deals with Benzo patients. Below is his link if you’re able to watch it:
    youtube.com/@taperclinic?si=mIc6D6eapAyGTkEj
Continue the good fight. Many blessings and strength to you. 😊

I hope you’re able to see this now I’m not sure why it wasn’t showing! But we’re right on track it seems! Nearly the same dose now! Journaling is SO helpful through this. I never has before but now I have written notes going back every day for a year. It helps to see!! I’m so sorry it’s been rough for you also. I completely agree about needing to be illegal. I’m actually going to try to pin this comment if I can figure out how so others can see the link to Dr. Josef and to your channel as well! I’ve watched several of his videos a while back and I know he helps many. Hopefully combined we can raise more awareness and really make a difference for others going forward!! I feel like the more we can put out there for people to see reality of this the better

@@Patricksbenzowithdrawal- thank you so very much. Yes, we are both on par with each other. It’s truly horrific, however, so very thankful that our Lord, alone, gets us through.
I get some relief, that’s when I film, I wail before and after filming, sometimes, trembling heaps, too, yet, know I’ve got to keep the brain active and sharing to give some hope to others. It creeps up on you then it attempts to crush you.
I’m so thrilled you agree it requires to be illegal. It’s imperative for the lives and wellbeing of humankind. I would love to continue to connect with you after we’re both off the Valium. There could be a journey there, too, as I’ve researched by many others testimony. It’s so important we remain informed.
The error is my phone. I couldn’t see it until you actually pinned it and I have an iPhone pro max 14, it’s horrible!
Thanks Patrick, you’re an absolute champion. 🙏🙏🙏

I feel so bad for you man. Watching this vid freaks me out. I've been off all drugs since June 3rd of 23. To go back to where I had to start is something that absolutely blows my mind. I never want to go back to that period of time. It literally was the worst time in my whole life for months! To even think of it gives me fits.
Whatever you do, go slow! Don't jump off until you are completely sure you can. Take your time! You look good. It seems every vid you do you're on a pillow. Is this your natural state now? I'm not judging in any way. I did the lay and pray for the first 6 months of my recovery. I'd say I'm about 90% healed. No anxiety, minor aches and pains. I'm happy. I'm praying (for real) that no symptoms come back as I know they can.
You have come very far! Keep up the great work!
    You math is awesome.
You should compare your first vid with your last. I hope you know how far you've come.
    Jim

Hi, your time based taper looks really helpful. When I started tapering, I was in full blown withdrawal hell, and couldn't stabilize myself, I didn't even know anything about the dangers of benzos. When I was searching about my strange, frightening symptoms on RUclips, then I came to know that it's withdrawal because of the xanax that I was taking as prescribed.
I just dry cut the pill little by little every week, and got off in 5 months. No one helped me or believe my situation, I couldn't do much with my foggy mind, Now at 9 months off, still suffering badly.
I am happy about you that you are so intelligent and doing right way of calculating.
A wish you all the healing and success in your withdrawal journey.❤

Remember the lower you go the smaller the cuts need to be. Depending on your benzo you may need to add another dose on. It's totally okay to get down to a very small amount of each dose and then jump off. Hoping it works out for you but good to see your cognitive ability is so sharp still. Keep pushing friend

Much love. Your not alone. These drugs often just stop working, or working to do much at all. I know how it feels to have a dose not do much vs a higher dose making you feel worse. Your getting there, Patrick. Hang on. I use a phone timer as well. Agaiin, much love. I completely validate and appreciate what your going through. We really have to figure out our cuts on our own, its tough! I got destabilised by another medication, adn added a bit until things return to baseline. If you have to take an antibiotic or something, keep that in mind.

I look forward to your updates. You seem to be tolerating the under 5mg dose okay! I haven’t started my taper yet. I take 10mg diazepam a day. What I started doing 2 weeks ago was instead of taking 5mg twice daily, I take 5mg, then 2.5mg, and 2.5mg, so 3x day to get used to splitting it up over a day. But I’m doing it during waking hours only. I want to wean off this so badly. My Dr doesn’t know about my wanting to wean off it and he prescribes 15mg a day which I don’t take. I figure I can use the extra for the tapering as neeed

All kinds of weird stuff happens but I heard a saying the other day I like to share it was from the rock wrestler. His dad was a wrestler old-school and he used to say son a day without pain is like a day without sunshine!!! 😂, I heard that and I laughed. I was like Yep that’s the truth. 💪🏻. Be strong.

I'm also in the tapering process so understand very much how you are feeling when you are going through that "smaller dose cycle". You obviously can do the math that can be very difficult for some so you have a terrific advantage in that area....however....I would strongly suggest that educate yourself if you haven't already on the process of a liquid micro taper. When you mentioned two doses at one amount and the third at another I figured that was going to spell trouble. Your body/brain is going to react much different on that lower dosage than it would if you brought all three to the same level and allowed the chemical distribution to be spread out evenly.
The same principle more likely applies to the method you are using by extending the time period out by a few minutes, then a few minutes more only to find yourself closer to your next dosage scheduled time with nothing really accomplished if next said dosage stays the same.
I am not a professional and don't claim to have the answers as like you we are all working to help each other through this horrible process with hopes of having the strength to get to the other side. But I do say with concern that your best option is probably to get liquid titration schedule in order. The gradual and consistent dosage will be more beneficial in reducing the effects than an inconsistent dosage and/or time regiment. Staying hopeful with you on this journey out of hell. Take care brother!

You're doing great. I find it crazy that 1.5mg of valium relieves your symptoms. That is such a small dose of valium that it would barely put a baby to sleep. The symptoms from the lowered amount could be more mental than anything, then again, I'm no expert. I am currently tapering from a fairly short stint of using ativan every day for 2 months with diazepam. Haven't noticed any severe symptoms yet, but I'm also very fortunate that I didn't go down the path of using the ativan for a longer period of time. I started at 9mg per day in 3 separate doses and I am down to 4mg now after 4 weeks. Hoping to be done with this junk after another 3 weeks or so... Best wishes to you brother and I hope you heal quickly!!!

I know… it’s actually almost funny to me because when I started my taper I saw so many countless people on forums that were on 2-3-4 mg Valium, nearing the end of their taper, and all I could think was my gosh that’s so low just get off it already! I couldn’t understand why they seemed to be dragging it out as the doses seemed so low. Now, I get it…. Now that I’m to this point. I think it’s just all part of the brain healing, it adapts to lower and lower and lower doses until you’re finally off of them. I plan to keep going down to 1mg then stop, maybe .5 mg but most likely stop from 1mg. Time will tell how I tolerate it.
Also when I started my taper I was taking 2.5 mg Xanax plus 4 mg Valium daily. Quite a large amount considering it was 2 benzos at once. Thank God the Xanax is finally done. That was a horrible one!
Be glad you weren’t on it for long and were able to cross over to Valium earlier! It took me nearly 5 years on Xanax before I was able to fully taper and go to only Valium. Your shorter term use and lack of severe symptoms are definitely on your side!! Keep in mind a LOT of people are able to come off without ever having bad symptoms so do not anticipate anything. Hopefully you’ll be one of the lucky ones without any issues!! Prayers it goes well for you!

    • @bakersduc
      @bakersduc 3 месяца назад +2

Do not let people say “1-4mg is in your head” if you’ve been on something for a long time your brain is damaged to the point it’s extremely sensitive to needing some. It’s the same for opiates, such as Suboxone, so someone who was on 16mg and tapers down to 1mg if they miss a day or 2 it will be hell.

    • @GunnerGOAT730
      @GunnerGOAT730 2 месяца назад +1

@@bakersduc Yeah, I agree that small amounts would have an effect for someone that has been on a long time 100%. It's just interesting that an initial small dose of 1.5mg would barely have any therapeutic effect for someone with no tolerance, yet a long term user would still need that amount in their system to avoid severe withdrawal. Nonetheless, this guy is on his way to a benzo free life and will be feeling better in the future. He's a warrior for sure.

You should try water tapering and stay at 3 doses a day.
It's a lot easier to remove fractions of any dose using water.
Instead of going from 1.5 to 1 mg you could've gone to 1.45.
    1.5 to 1mg is to big a cut. That's a 3rd which is huge.

How you doing after 10 months off has it gotten better? I totally recovered , 100 percent if that gives you hope, and trust me, I had the same thoughts as you do, like will I ever recover, or, is this as it good as it gets……what really took me to the finish line was cannabis and drinking a gallon and a half of ice cold water a day. But don’t try the cannabis until your chemical anxiety is totally gone . I tried cannabis 3 months into my recovery and it sent me into a 3 week wave…… but once my chemical anxiety went away, I tried it again month 11 of my recovery and it cured my insomnia and it didn’t bring back any weird chemical anxiety. The ice cold water was a god send too now my brain has no more of that nasty tension, it cured my headaches and the pressure behind my eyeballs. Take care and know this will get much better or even 100 percent recovery . Stay strong .

For the most part when I monitor it at home I get readings between 115/75 to around 135/95. Nothing too crazy. But I know many people do have worse issues with it than I’ve had. If having any issues it’s best to just get checked by a doctor to make sure nothing else is going on!
