Trail angel’s dog is so cute
There were 3 of them!
@@TaylortheNahamshaHiker even better
Thank you, George.
I'm so glad I stumbled upon your channel, Taylor! I watched your last full thru-hike video and haven't stopped watching since! I'm 21, and recently the urge to pack up and just get out in the wild has hit me. I used to love short little day hikes (little to no elevation, short 1-2 mile trails max), but I've been itching to start hiking wayyy longer. I've worked up from 1 mile with mild elevation being tough to 3 miles with lots of elevation change being easy breezy. I'm hoping to thru-hike "rocksylvania" on the AT in a few years! Some of my family lives about an hour from Delaware Water Gap, so I could I have a big goal to do a thru-hike of Laurel Highlands PA 70-0 by the time I turn 23!
I'm so excited to see you finish the AT again! I enjoy how realistic you are. Not every day is going to be great, but you make the best out of it and push on. You're such an inspiration and I can't wait to see what you conquer next! You're doing amazing! Keep on pushing, one step closer to Katahdin every day
Love your technique for taking done spider webs! 😂 Welcome “home” and happy trails!
Looks nice and sunny! Im glad you did not encounter a bear! Praying for safe travels!❤🎉😊
Taylor getting closer to home🌻👣
i live in new york and you are right...its tough but the foods great! lol
There was a bridge that was out on the river this morning, and if the water was high you wouldnt be able to cross there, so that makes sense. The AT is not the best part of new york hiking for sure. Adirondacks, Catskills, Hudson Highlands much more worth the trouble. Taconics are fun.
I love the “Good Morning” at the start of so many episodes. So cheerful and so happy.
When I hike my favorite trail south of Syracuse, in Upstate NY, I would hike early morning and have a grand time using my pole, like you did, to brake the webs. Not particularly fun, but the beautiful trail is amazing.
I Love trash pandas... had one as a pet when I was a kid. They do come out during the day all the time. Just more active at night.
Trash Panda! LMAO!! Great term for those cute little critters.
4:58 I always said New York has tremendous Pros & Cons … it’s not for everyone but WE❤IT.
Excellent for you to be in New England!! I know that is special for you. Home will always be home regardless of where you go. Keep charging!!
Congratulations on reaching another state. Thanks for sharing.
Congratulations on getting to Connecticut. Nice to have a Trail Angels. Safe travels.
I certainly enjoy your videos!
Happy to see you’re back in New England. You are crushing the miles! Will miss these daily updates when you’ve hit the summit of Katahdin.
Hi Taylor!
What a beautiful oak tree 🌳! One of my favorite things when hiking is to appreciate the beautiful threes! Stay warm and dry today!
Welcome back! You must be now in the familiar whites. Enjoy your daily vlogs. Great editing and Chet must be smiling knowing you are nearby. K soon.
Not yet. The whites are in New Hampshire.
Hey Taylor, for a different perspective on NY , I would recommend you do some hiking in the Adirondacks. They aren't too far from you and they are challenging and beautiful.
SOOOO AWESOME welcome back to new England, I live right in Tamworth N.H. Been following your Thru Hike keep pushing your doing amazing, very inspiring.
Looks like you had another great day on trail. The doggie at the end was so cute. Stay safe and Happy Hiking ⛺️🥾💞
It's actually a common misconception that racoons and foxes are totally nocturnal. They are frequently seen out in daylight, especially if they have young ones to feed. So happy to see you so far along the trail!! You're on fire!!!
Fantastic progress. You're treading the green, green grass of home. Welcome. Walk on.
Welcome back to New England !!!
Taylor, you own that trail the way you make progress. I enjoy your daily updates because of your positivity. Thank you.
Thank you for living life I hope to do this one day
I love the little tune as you approached the sign.
Way to GO! LaBonne's market in Salisbury ROCKS! Enjoy every step and Keep Hiking!
Hope you had a restful Memorial Day respite with your Trail Magic friends. You are "home" - congrats
Awesome. Congratulations on another state and getting closer to home
Great adventure and surprises on trail again.
Welcome home to New England

Enjoy your day
You are amazing ❤ Ken NC 😎
Welcome home Nahamsha, The Whites are waiting. 🙂 Hopefully Farout straightened itself out. ✌️
Welcome home! Yay for trail angels! You made that river crossing while holding your phone look easy. 😅 -Kami
I'd love a video or some comments on how you decide to contact and go with a trail angel. It seems to me it's not safer or more reliable than just hitching, but maybe i'm missing some finer points. As a woman who hikes alone sometimes, I'd love some safety tips.
I don’t care much for the cities in NY but I sure do love their mountains…….the Apps, the Cats, and the Adirondacks!
We ❤ the entire state … it offers something for everyone .. mountains, beaches .. it’s rural, suburban and urban … you have so many choices.
I'm going to defer to Andrew Skurka and say the raccoon counts as a mini-bear.
Congratulations on making it to NE! Must have been such a great feeling!
Good video with some nice views, a big raccoon 😮, so let's keep on hiking. 😊
Congrats for walking back home to New England.
One thing I have been wanting to learn how to do is set up my non-freestanding tent on a tent platform . I think I’ve seen you do this with a tent once or twice.
We used to go to Kent on Sundays and hike along the trail when I was a kid. This was in the 70s. You never saw bears in Connecticut back then.
Good morning
you're good enough to be up late because with me it's AM1.05
I know that you are 6 hours behind on the east coast in the US compared to my time
so good day from here
Onward!!!
That was a weird looking bear at the end there. 😂
As a 6 foot person, not really tall but dang short people! I end catching all the spider webs in the face! Lol
Good morning, 🌞 Have you encountered any smoke or hazy skies from the forest fires in Canada?
Forget about that sponsorship from Dunks, maybe Old Navy will contact you for a photo shoot for their jazzing hiking shorts.
Right! Those $5 shorts are holding up better than any of my other gear
@@TaylortheNahamshaHiker that’s a great selling point
Cute dog!
It was nice meeting on the AT Trail in NY! Safe travels
Taylah stay safe from the smoke!
Take it easy, the smoke here from the canada fires is horrible
I know these are days past, but I'm wondering how the smoke is for you on the AT and if you will seek sheltering until it clears?
What's the air quality like? New York City is engulfed in an orange haze right now (Wednesday the 9th) from the Canadian wildfire smoke which must have passed through Connecticut to get there.
You will have to wait for future episodes to catch up
Moving on. Are you getting hase and smoke from the fires from Canada?
New York AT used to be more scenic in the 70's but has overgrown and clearing for views is not allowed.
Hmm so maybe that’s why SNP doesn’t have many views from the AT.
I went through it last year and recently did that same section again a few weeks ago and really can’t see any views now.:(
Well from the backcountry IF you want to consider that part that.
6:50 - Rocky The Raccoon
I hear Dunkin Donuts is popular in New England, maybe give it a try! 😝
That sounds good!
CONNECTICUT HERE
First hiker gets to clean out the spider webs.
Narley river crossing?
How is the Unbound 40 holding up? any Cons?
Always be cautious of raccoons, especially if they’re out on a sunny day as they can be very vicious and a high percentage of them are known to carry rabies……
A raccoon out in the day is unusual but no cause for concern. An animal with rabies can be aggressive but that animal was walking normally and foraging for food. Fear is a dangerous thing.
@@chrissaunders8284 Cautious of them not scared…. If you know anyone who got bit by a rabid raccoon that was out on a bright sunny day, which isn’t normal you would be scared my friend. Do you know what’s more dangerous than fear???Ignorance..Just sayin….
I was told to always avoid raccoons in the day when I was a kid. They were most likely very old or sick. On at least one occasion it proved true. The poor thing wandered right up to us at a construction site without realizing we were there till within feet of us. Then it turned away and walked over to a nearby tree and laid down. When we packed up to leave about 2 hrs later we went to check it out and it had died.
@@daleaustin5701 They will act weird if they have rabies also…
@@leedanielson7452 yeah. Just weird little guys. Give em their space if they aren't being a nuisance and they will probably leave you alone in return.
Yeah! Welcome to Connecticut ! Congratulations on another state done! Glad you had no bear encounters.. you have seen enough. Besides be wary of daytime coons cause they could very well be rabid! Thanks for another great video.. sorry no dunks in this one😊
A raccoon in the daylight means it has babies and needs to spend more time getting food for all of them.
Aww
Raccoons are nocturnal. You are correct! If you see one out in the daytime looking a little abnormal you have to assume it has rabies. Stay clear of it!
Will you do the PCT?
No plans to
@@TaylortheNahamshaHiker I’m so sorry. I didn’t see your video you made about this specifically😳
I like getting a return on investment-a great view-when hiking up for a long while. Of course, we don’t always get the wow moment.
Portugese?
Raccoons are primarily nocturnal - not a good sign to see one wondering like that mid day
Big racoon but not a bear
Trash Panda. Not quite a bear, but cool to see.
Videos that end too soon!
That felt like a startling ending....
I don’t know why I can’t be first every day???🙄😭😡
I think you were First from Florida
@@frolege1 Well thanks George! First from Florida I like the sounds of that! 😝👍😎🐊
I try commenting first on my own video before it goes live but youtube won't let me lol
@Taylor 🤣🤣🤣
@@TaylortheNahamshaHiker you will need to wait until 7:00:01 … like the rest of us
Ah yes, my least favorite trail magic, a disposable cooler full of trash soup 😢 6:10
Sorry you can't see much of the landscape
You gotta get out of east. Do PCT
A daytime racoon is a rabid racoon.
Something's wrong with your thumbnail Taylor.
How so?
Tired of being FIRST
Today's prize is an old favorite from 2 years ago. The lovely Llama named Linda will keep your hedges trimmed year round. No returns.
George I don’t know why you don’t sleep in once in a while and let us mere mortals have a chance of being first!!!😂
@@leedanielson7452 my dog woke me up at 4:30am
@@freeheel748 I’ll take it Free
@@frolege1 🤣 I got up at 2:50 this morning which isn’t unusual… I haven’t slept really good in like 20 years lol
Why are u even doing this? People save for years to hike the hike. You don’t care and I quote I’m gonna touch the sign and go home. Wow. Go home now. Don’t belittle the at.
Haha I still love the AT...
I just ran into your channel it was on my Google News stream feed... I live in Georgia Central Georgia South of Atlanta... And I want to hike the Appalachian Trail... How much money should I need?
What are the best kinds of foods to bring with you?
Raccoons, at this time of year they have young and are out during the day digging for grubs for their young. Either way one should always be cautious of them.🦝
