Dr Lori, Love your videos. I am learning a lot, as you intend. In other videos you have mentioned that sometimes the frame is valuable too, not just the painting. In the case of the McGill painting in this episode, I am wondering if the frame (which showed some damage) was gold leaf or just golden colored paint? If so, do you offer a referral to experts who can provide such care? Thanks! Diane B.

PS, Speaking of books, I've been looking for a book called "Life Without George" by Irene Kampen. Last time I saw a copy they wanted 290.00 dollars for it. It's what "The Lucy Show" was based off of. I think they're gouging a bit on that price. Any suggestions as to where I could maybe find it a bit cheaper?
I need to send in a pic of a map. I stopped at an estate sale to burn time on my lunch hour. The estate sale was being run by niece's of an aunt who recently passed; so they didn't know much info regarding the items. I had not found anything & was about to leave. I ventured into the backyard. There was a stack of old looking pictures. Some of the frames were falling apart. They looked like junk really. As I was looking I saw behind one of the pictures was an old map. I offered $5, not knowing what I had found. I know its old as the map has a little bit of foxing on its paper. The map has sea creatures in the ocean, the continents are different. Its very unusual. It looks to be water colored in the few areas that have color. I bought the map merely because it fascinates me.
I have a painting that was given to me by a woman I worked for for 24 yrs. I'm curious to know if you have knowledge about French Canadian artists? Enjoying the videos. Stay well.

You can do it! I've got more selling tips coming up. Plus, have you read by blog? Lots of tips there!
Holy cow!!!
Yes you do need me to look at that map! Never know you might end up in the next Real Bargains video :) (if you'd give me permission of course)
I have a painting that was given to me by a woman I worked for for 24 yrs. I'm curious to know if you have knowledge about French Canadian artists? Enjoying the videos. Stay well.
You can send me photos to review using a form on my website.

Hi Dr. Lori. I'm a new subscriber, please share how I can request your expertise?
Welcome! Check out my website!
Dr. Lori, if a frame is terrible, but the painting is valuable, would replacing the frame take away some of the value?
Good question. Bring it to my next Ask Dr. Lori LIVE so I can answer it in detail for everyone too!
If the book was signed what would it be worth?
That's cowboy stuff which I don't do. I appraise the piece as I see it. Thanks for the question.
