A tip for positioning artillery before the battle: If you place you artillery unit, click to another unit, then click back, it’ll provide you with the actual firing cone. When you originally place them, it doesn’t reflect the topographical impact on the firing cone. Hopefully that bug gets fixed in a future update…
Not sure if you noticed but you captured 13K federals and captured 18K guns. Take a look at upgrading some units from muskets if you have any. Awesome battle!
saw the julius caesar napoleon name and was confused until i remembered it was your custom guy, wouldnt surprise me with some of the names generals had back then
11:56 Pelham is a tough casualty but at least it’s only wounded. He’s one for me at least that always gets his stars very quickly for me and usually sees himself leading a division or a corps very early on
Is there an easy way to tell if your men are mounted/ limbered? I am having a big problem with this on the paper map and combat in general. It should be listed in the unit info box but I'm not seeing it. Any ideas?
Unless there is something I'm missing, having Core seems like it is more trouble than it is worth. Especially since it causes you to have issues with units arriving.
Wow, I've never seen that many units shatter and surrender. The one thing that frustrates me about the game is the difficulty of making it happen. Even infantry units that are surrounded and outgunned tend to just break, flee through my lines and just lose a few men when doing so. Can you tell from experience what affects the chance to shatter?
@@Hamburger2005 I have pursued them with cavalry, but so far the cavalry always exhausts itself and has to break off the pursuit before the enemy unit shatters. So far though I haven't used the larger cavalry units that can be researched, just the max size 500 ones you can get from the start.
Your channel has single handidly sold me on this game. Just a minor question: do you do a lot of construction? Mills, etc.? Do you do a lot of tweaking with the economy or just leave it alone?
in th efirst battle you were kind of a defeatest but not alot you could do. in the second battle at times it wasn't pretty but it worked and what a victory.
Do you ever plan on playing Napoleon: Total War? There are some really cool mods that are great for campaigns or for multiplayer. Field Command Napoleon 6.0 (a mod) is coming out tomorrow, I believe, if the playtests go well. Love from Ohio!
@@gorlack2231 Yeah, the playtesting did not go well for 6.0 on the mod and it could be delayed for a short while. Maybe a few days. The campaign does not work in the latest version (5.0+5.1).
Can I ask what system you are running the game on? One of the things that hold me back from buying it, is that everything in battles seems sooo clunky, laggy, stuttering and unresponsive. And its not just from your footage, its from others as well. So I am wondering if this is a general game performance problem.
Biggest mistake in battle of Washington. Why do you insist on holding point risking line breaking. Try to retreat ordery and regroup on your right. And wait to next day for counter attack.
Man, I am loving these hour-long videos. Please don't let the tap stop.

Thanks for the tip, I will be using that in my play

You clicked passed it kind of fast but you captured almost 12,000 union troops. Thats crazy.
God damn imagine that last battle with Prussian rifles you could've had at least 60% casualties for the union
use bombardment if the artillery have poor firing arcs. It allows for area targets. it causes losses, improves experience for the guns.
I always bum rush those Prussian needle guns. Those things are bonkers, but in a good way.
Loving these longer episodes! Looking forward to the next one

Man that was crushing, i'd be surprised if the Union could keep up any more large scale assaults.
the next total war game could really lern something from this game
What an incredible victory! Wow
During the night at the Battle of Munfordville the Union snuck some men across the river.
Crazy huge battle! Least we grow too fond of it...

Are you going to play the "Whiskey and Lemons" DLC that's coming out soon?
Looks like ol Pete is "dragging his feet" again

That was a wicked loss for the union. That one hurt them for sure.

Follow them with cav, also the morale of the units affect it too

have you tired to rally your brigades to help moral? and does it not affect army morale if units rally?
This game looks great, is it more stable and performing better these days ?

I was just thinking about NTW while watching this! I'll have to look into that mod, and shout-out from Toledo!
