Unfortunately, the only way a third party candidate will have a chance is if we overhaul our voting system and let voters vote for a 1st choice and 2nd choice, or something, but we'd have to convince both parties that it was in their interest to open up the field and change the laws. 🫤

The Democratic Party almost has to go with Kamala Harris, because there are so many laws in regards to campaign finance and ballot access that would make it difficult to replace Biden with anyone else.

Project 2025 is the most dangerous plan to date to destroy the US as a democracy as it plans to abolish, defund, and privatize all US agencies. I have said since day one that Trump has always been known as a clown, but it is the people around him that are the dangerous ones. Those are the ones you need to research as they found their pawn and plan to use him to destroy our government so they control it. Once they get their hands on our agencies, you won't have a nation to vote for in four years. That is what you need to think about.

The Afghanistan withdrawal was an epically horrible disaster, and was followed by a gross mishandling of the southern border that placed millions of migrants in a very vulnerable position where they were subject to horrible crimes before they ever stepped a foot on American soil.... People deserve to enter our country with respect and safety, on a boat, plane, train, or car. Not hiking across a steaming desert, riddled with drug cartels and people who will abuse them. And our leaders did nothing until the screaming became so loud that they were forced to make a move.... There was no compassion in any part of those situations.
If they hadn't stepped on American soil, they were the responsibility of whoever sent them and the country they WERE standing in.

A little earlier this year, a friend told me that he thought we'd get through the primaries, then Biden would drop out for health or some other reason. I agreed with him, as I'd already had that thought. I know a lot of others who thought that, too. I'm glad we were right. Those people surrounding him should be ashamed for keeping him in place as long as they have. My dad has Alzheimer's, and I can't imagine keeping him in a job where it was clear he wasn't well. It is pretty obvious that Biden has some kind of dementia or other problem, but his wife and others around him should have done this long ago.

Why? They didn't really have any choice in the primary in the first place. It was not, unfortunately, a competitive primary.. Most of the polled democrats (2/3) said Biden should step aside. This was true even over a year ago. So this seems quite in line with what the majority of their party want... The only people against this would be huge Biden fans or Trump followers who fear fair competition. As an independent & American, I welcome better, more qualified candidates because I want the best for my country.

Before today, the Democratic Party had three scenarios:
(a) Nominate Joe Biden, who would then provide us with more unintentional comedy on the campsign trail and in upcoming debates.
(b) If Biden dropped out, then nominate Kamala Harris. The problem is that she polls even worse than Biden among hispanics & working-class whites, especially in the battleground states.
OR
(c) If Biden dropped out, then nominate someone else. The ptoblem is that it risks alienating the Democratic Party's most loyal demographic: black women.
However, even MSNBC's Rachel Maddow reported that Biden's support among black women plummeted by 31 percentage points.
Kamala Harris will do even worse among black men because she put many black men in prison for non-violent drug offenses, such as possession of marijuana.

Too bad the economy has gotten progressively worse these last three and a half years. Housing economy is horrendous. Food prices are horrendous. Fuel prices have been higher as well. That statement is nothing but propaganda. Sorry Kabir, but you misunderstand the reality over here in the US.
Many people like RFK. Not enough to get him to win of course. More and more people each election are saying they are tired of only one of two parties winning and want the system to change. Because we are seeing more and more Republicans and Democrats sort of having views that don't really fit either party 100%. If we got rid of the party system, it would be easier to vote. You'd vote no based on your party, but on the individual and what THEY believe in. It's why I currently no longer vote.

So here's the thing. The Democrats kind of got themselves stuck with Biden dropping out. They can't not choose Kamila because many people would be mad that a African American/Indian woman was passed over to run. So they have no choice but to pick her. This is mixed because not everyone on the party likes her for various reasons. On the other hand, because she is woman who is a "minority", more voters may vote for her just to see the first woman/minority president.
I think if Biden stayed, there was a slight better change Trump may have won. With Biden out though, I think it will sway more voters to vote Kamila and thus may cause a win for the Democrats. Given the choice between another old white man with his own issues, or a woman, it won't be hard for some. This may cause the Republicans to have to really switch things up now. The next week or two will tell what voters will likely do though.
Me personally? I am not voting either way. I'm not Republican or Democrat and just am tired of politics.

He was doing a fantastic job as president before covid hit. Inflation wasn't an issue, our border was secure, there were no wars going on, cities were safer, etc. Trump has gone thru literal hell for us. He doesn't need this hassle. He could be living a peaceful retirement right now. Even after nearly getting his head blown off he is still not giving up.
