    Had to go to the dealership to get some of the recall repairs done and they quoted $600 for the upper hose replacement. Very glad to find this video. Thank you!

    My wife's Dart is a 2.4 with these same hoses. I replaced this upper one at just over 300K miles. The upper one i replace a little later at 320K due to finding an aftermarket hose for that application. The lower hose available from Mopar replaces the aluminum center section with a plastic part, much like the Tee highlighted in your video here. I did not want that plastic piece. Looking carefully i found the lower hose in two part numbers from Continental enabling me to reuse that nice piece of aluminum that crosses the radiator below the fan assembly. I still need to replace the two part hose that connects the aluminum piece with the radiator tank on the right inner fender near the air cleaner housing, the tank with the radiator cap. I have been unable to locate these two smaller diameter molded hoses that connect to that tank to the lower hose assembly. There is another very small diameter hose the connects the thermostat housing with the tank, maybe i can make that hose up with rolled hose like fuel line and reusing the small aluminum pipes are part of that long hose. Pretty sure they call that hose the bypass hose, it connects just below the radiator cap on the tank.

      Thank you for taking the time to share this. I am amazed that your upper coolant hose made it to 300k. I was planning on replacing the lower hose assembly next for some piece of mind. I had not even realized they replaced the aluminum pipe with plastic , what a horrible idea. Thanks again.

      I purchased the heater hose assembly too but did not get it installed yet. I easily removed the connections near the thermostat housing but had to snap those back on once i realized i would have to take stuff out of the way to get the connections near the firewall at the heater core. If you do change the heater hoses please post how you went about it all, especially those firewall connections. Drove the Dart hundred fifty miles to the city and back today, i noted the odometer ticked past 321K on the way home. Still runs great, does not use oil, and has very few problems. All told it is a great small sedan.@@s33therfan

    If we don't have access to electricity could we pour really hot water over the hose to heat it up? Or could that create other problems in the area?

    Have you ever came across the rear trunk light not working? A while back i saw on forums that the trunk electrical would snag wires and cause rear trunk light bar to stop working, i check my wire assembly and it was destroyed so bad lol and to cut each wire individually and rerun new line 🤣 dealership said they had to replace whole car wire harness that costed over 2k

      @@s33therfan just in case you ever come across that issue best fix is some new wire with butt connectors 🤣. My car has 140k miles and I had to pop my hood to jump out the car and noticed the leak, also what might be causing that part failing is the motor mounts cause the whole motor is moving more than it should, thank God for eBay I found all 3 mounts and hose for $130

    • @s33therfan

      Most of the time I will just use a flat screw driver and pop them with hammer. That seems to be the easiest to break them loose. Thanks for watching.

    How bad is it if the t has broken. We didn’t drive far but my 2016 is going thru this currently and I’m watching to gauge wether I can do this myself or not

    • @s33therfan
      @s33therfan  Год назад

      I would not drive it at all until it is fixed. The easiest way to fix it would be to simply replace the T itself to get you by. Here is a link for the part and part # , you can probably buy this at most part stores. Feel free to ask if you have any other questions.

      @s33therfan it's not the lower radiator hose, it's near the top radiator hose but next to the computer.. in ur video if u put pause u will see 2 metal hose connectors like an inch wide. The one I have disconnected its the bottom but its not leaking coolant but yesterday when I put gas I left the car running and when I got back in the car it was 3 quarters the temperature but as soon as I run the car it went back to normal temperature

    I'm so sick of that plastic tee on the upper hose constantly cracking & leaking on my Dart that I'm going to just swap it and the two on the lower hose with metal tees when I have to change them alongside my thermostat, biggest problem is finding the right sizes. Absolute stupidity that something that has to go through so many heat cycles is made out of cheap plastic.

    • @s33therfan
      @s33therfan  8 месяцев назад

      Exactly , these plastic fittings and cars designed to run much hotter does not go well together. The metal fittings sounds like a great idea. Thanks for the feedback.

      @@s33therfan I'm working on my 2013 Dodge now, same as this. To get to the lower coolant assembly is so tight holy hell. I basically can't reach it have to take out that little 11:27 yellow cap thing container? It's like right there, I can see the spray of coolant coming out from that area so I know it's from one of those hoses connected to the back. But seriously, wish I could send you a video or something, it's so brutal trying to get back there, feel like I have to take out the whole damn engine for a fookin' hose.
      Also, would you recommend electrical tape to fix a minor leak? Dumb idea for sure, but would it work if I wrapped it tight and enough? Or would it just leak out from the pressure I know it can be crazy. The macgyver in me wants to know.
