It’s actually really sad that friends just kinda fade away bc my only best friend is just not even texting anymore and already found new friends and posts pictures with them and I’m just alone and sad because we have had the best moments of my life with her
Oh my gosh, this is so crazy bc I was thinking about this last night and how my friends changed when I got to highschool. Thank you for addressing this and how to deal with it, I Iove listening to your podcast and can definitely relate a lot to this episode.

i always feel like this... its almost that always im the one making the friendship last and if i one day just will not text them first we will never talk again.
Ik me too I made friends with this girl and she said we'll be best friends forever....i moved and we were still talking until she got a gf (which I introduced her to) and she completely stopped texting me and kinda ghosted me. I'm litterly so sad rn cause in my new school I have litterly no one I like or am close to.

I really relate to this. I made a best friend this year who lived in my neighborhood, and I put in so much effort, yet I wasn’t good enough for her. She stole everything from me too! This girl that I hate, stole her from me. Anyways, I want one of those best friends forever too. I can never make it.

You might not see this, but can you talk about being left out in a friend group(s)? I just think it’s something that we will go through it one way or another and maybe hear some experiences you have had?
I’m in the exact same situation, me and my best friend’s relationship is fading. He barely comes to school. We have been best friends since grade 3. Our relationship was the strongest in grade 6. He’s the only one that accepted me for who I was and would never talk about me badly behind my back. These days we don’t talk very much. I miss him.
If he doesnt show up to school a lot maybe this is a personal problem? They could be going through something, idk tho u would problaby sens that better

Yeah I had a girlfriend who was lazy in a relationship and friendship meaning she barely made any effort to talk to me and she ended up talking shit about me to my other friends

I literally agree with this so much. Like I put in so much effort into friendships but I can see a lot of them just don't care 😭 and now i just moved recently and no one here gives me that much effort in friendships and I always get like so sad cause it makes me think I'm just annoying 😅

I love to watch these when I’m bored, also for fun, and this video is really relate able because a few days ago me and my ex-best friend got in a huge fight and she told me to kill myself and she hates me. I didn’t do it ofc, but it really hurts me. I’m not going to be friends with her anymore but I at least want her to apologize before ending this friendship.
i might be late, but my advice is try to cut her off before she cuts you off, and don't expect apologies from such people, they never apologize. i learned late.

So i used to have this really good friend at my old house, but then i moved to somewhere like 45mins away and our friendship faded away cause she didnt have any social media so i couldnt contact her the only time i could was interschool sporting events as we were both the same age and both went to private schools when we would see eachother we just wave, nod or smile. we went from besties seeing eachother like 4 times a week after school to seeing eachother like twice a yr
omg, me and my (THOUGHT TO BE) bestfriend are like this at 10:58. I put in ALL my efforts to be a good friend to her, like buying gifts and buying her food and drinks and stuff. but she's rude sometimes and never gives me the same energy back, omg I just ranted to random ppl,my bad

it really makes me think how lucky i am to have best friends of 3 years and still going strong. I'm terrified if one day we may just never talk again ,,but i relate a lot on this topic of loosing friends bc I lost a good friend while I was mentally not ok. It sucks, but yk if they're not giving a shit about you, then you shouldn't either .

i am a introvert, i used to be a introvert and a bit of a extrovert, now im only a introvert, yk why.. i have a story, so once my "friend" was acting strange, i quickly came to realise that she was mulipulating me. So i asked her how she thinks i am,
yk what she said, she said "your really sensitive and a drama queen, you always cry" i stopped being friend with her. a year later a was with my two other really close friends (7 years as friends), coincidentally she was in my class with both of my friends, she started acting nice to them, she was mulipulating them, just like she did to me, she called one selfish, mean and a bully, my other friend was muliplated by her,my ex-friend said to my other friend that my other friend was bullying her, one of my friend are still friend with my ex-friend and the other was not, moral of the story, sometimes you should check a person before being there friend.

I am a very reserved person..i just had 2 really really good friends in my school..but when we came to high-school pur teachers shuffled us to different sections..in 8th grade we had 3 sections and were in all the different sections...and then one of my friends parents had to transfer..then we graduated out of class 10th our friendship was already pretty weak like just meeting with one of her that too just during lunch breaks..and then in 11th grade my transfered friend came back...ahh I want to write more..but can't really come to do it now..I am just a very reserved person..I don't feel like making new friends immediately and again if they have their own friend groups I hate that even more...and when one my very good friend gets another friend I just feel bad that they probably don't want to be friends anymore..yeah this just shows how much of a introvert I am..

Two things I don't agree with Ben is that, you shouldn't need to put effort in friendship, it should just flow, you shouldn't need to put work in a friendship. Also some people are introverted, some of my friends are, and that's fine, give them some alone time and then they'll hang out with you. I do agree with the rest of the stuff on this episode tho.

I really hope I don’t ever go through that with 3 of my friends. With school it’s different cause I’m not really gonna see them out of school anyway especially when I graduate but with the ones I grew up with will stab me in the chest if it fades away.
And I don’t just worry about losing my friends I’m worried about drifting apart from my cousins too. Sure we’re blood related but we’re all growing old and having our own lives far away from each other now. And they’re all so busy so it’s not easy to even keep in touch with them.
Omg I have those 3 friends aswell, same with the school friend group. Just hope everything turns out alright

ik im really late to this, but if you still cant go, think of them as a shard of glass. if you hold on for too long, you'll bleed out and you know it hurts. when it hurts you need to put the glass down. yeah it'll bleed a lot but you need to care for that wound and let it heal. once it heals you wont have to worry anymore.

Hey Ben...Idk if you're even gonna see this, but I really need some advice- so if ANYONE has an opinion on this...pls help lol.
ok so me and my "friend" are arguing and the worst part abt it is, it all started bc she tried to talk abt my best friend behind her back and thought I wouldn't get mad-
then she says "I’m no one’s door mat and I wouldn’t be rude to you or anyone, in general, that’s not how life works." Like- I don't even know what she's talking abt in the first part of that bc at this point I have barely even said anything lmaooo.
AND THEN she has the audacity to talk abt, my mom, 💀bc my mom asked what vitamins she was taking, cause she was complaining abt how she hates being sick- and my mom has done a lot of research abt yk- vitamins lol- so she was just trying to help...like my mom wasn't being rude AT ALL. anyway, like a week later she brings it up again for no reason-
and I asked her how I should wear my hair one day and she straight up says "you don't look good with straight hair" and then says "I was joking"when I brought it up saying that it was kinda rude. When she said that, I said "Alright...but I don't think it's nice to "joke" abt stuff like that...it's kinda toxic" and then we talk more and I tell her some stuff that she does that bothers me and she says "you have toxic traits too" and im like "okay, pls tell me what they are" and then she's like "okay, if you want to know, here u go"
SHE MAKES THIS LONG LIST THAT LITERALLY MAKES THE POINTS I JUST SAID WERE "TOXIC" ABT HER. and in one part she says:
there are days you don’t care to know about my issues you just want to talk about you and the things you want to talk about. and im like:
FIRST OF ALL- THE FEW DAYS WHERE IM LIKE THAT ARE WHEN IM GOING THROUGH STUFF THAT I NEED TO TALK ABT
she is saying all that when I talk abt my problems and then she barely listens and gets annoyed bc she can't talk abt what she wants to, while im talking-
Should I cut her off? (keep in mind- this is only a LITTLE bit of it :/)
I honestly feel kinda bad abt going off on her, but she's really being annoying right now lol.
hey girlie, i would def cut her out if I were you. If she talks badly about the people who you care about, says things that are rude and out of line to u and say it's a joke. Even when you confronted her, instead of listening like a good friend would, she got super defensive and went off on you for no reason. And finally like Ben said: in order for healthy friendships that will last, both people need to put 100% and if you feel like you put in the effort in trying to listen to her problems but she doesn't listen to you then absolutely cut that bitch out of your life. You deserve a friend that treats you with respect and that truly cares about u ❤
If you have to question if you should cut her off or not 9 times out of 10 you probably need to cut her off 💀
