  • The other day I was thinking about learning guitar using Mel Bay's Modern guitar method (44 years ago). I ordered a couple of Mel Bay's books online and decided to do a bit of reminiscing.
My mission: to record one complete song for each of the 12 musical genres contained within the Digitech Trio + Band Creator + Looper.

Very interesting. I went through grades 1 thru 7 in1969 to 1970. It could be very dry at times so I don't remember much of it. I found trying to play songs I liked to be more useful. Peter Paul and Mary
had useful books where you could play
with the record. Most songs otherwise
I had to figure out from piano music with the chords. Learning is so much
    better today.

Hi John, it's pretty good that you made it all the way through to grade 7. Yes, it's certainly true that we are spoilt for choice today. Thanks for watching and commenting, cheers, Joey.

You must be a really good jazz player. Mel Bay was good on chord theory. I play folk or acoustic music and can read enough music to be dangerous!
Ever hear of Kate Rusby? I like her music a lot.
