Thanks for showing and noting that it will take multiple methods to match the original coat style, feeling more confident in being able to do my own house!

Thank you. Your comment has added value to this video. I am doing light repairing to a stucco surface on my house and I will follow your suggestion. Can you recommend a bonding agent?

Any way for me to patch this simply? I'm a DIY'er, and a newbie at that....can I maybe use something like what you used? I have a picture, but can't post here of course.
Hard to patch situations like this perfectly cause your trowel always skips on older stucco texture. Only thing I’d recommend is using a wire brush to help clean and make sure you get good adhesion. I would also fix the flashing and add a kick out, otherwise you’ll be back fixing it again. cheers.

Hi, do you have a video on acrylic stucco? The block wall on the north side of the house is joint property, and was previously only stuccoed on the top foot, now I want to stucco the rest of the way down. I think I figured out is is acrylic, as it does not absorb water.
Did you use a liquid bond prior to using Elasto- patch or is it not necessary? Seems I'm gonna have to scrape off the rough stucco patch looks like crap.
funny how a lot of people on this thread crying "hire a real contractor". yeah, i had a licensed contractor do garbage work on my house. id rather give my best effort trying this method. thank you for this video. i have small patches of stucco peeling that need repairing.
I am a fan of your channel. And I appreciate your videos. I will support your store. My question is. When repairing stucco with some rust spots it is better to use some aerosol pro block first ? Or is that just being wasteful? My plan was when I pressure wash the house I’m going to tear down the broken stucco and pro block all the rough spots the same day and come back the next day and do all the repairs. Then paint the house pool deck and driveway. It’s a big job for me and I just don’t want to make any unnecessary errors.
My new repairs on stained stucco started showing through almost immediately (white paint elastomeric) - the workers did not put any stain blocker or primer on first - really sad job! $$$$
@@kimmackie1629 to follow up. I went to my sales rep. You have to add 2 coats of rust inhibiting acrylic latex before painting. It’s recommended to wait 1 day before painting. I recently repainted a customers home that had small rust spots everywhere.

Can you make "rough stucco" smooth when patching it? I want to discourage squirrels from climbing up my house and entering the attic. They easily climb the rough stucco my house is finished with.
Thank you for the video. I have a question though that repair was from water damage. I have a pesky wood pecker that has put huge holes in the stucco of my home . My question is do I still use the same technique or is there another way to do it. Cause one of the holes is really bad.
yes, you would use the same technique. Woodpeckers are habitual and will return again & again to the same place. If it's possible, you might put a piece of hardi or sheet metal inside the area to deter them in the future.
Does Peel Bond primer work well with Emerald Satin paint? my parents have CMU block so cracks I filled with Elasto Caulking and used some stucco patch as well on the bigger gaps but my mother was set on satin iso flat which I was praying on flat them she picked a semi dark mustard color for base - so tell me I'm not doomed....lol!
Why would you fix the resulting damage before fixing the source of the problem? Also, as a roofer, I have NEVER heard of a painter fixing a flashing issue...🤔
We used that patch on our west facing garage (in Arizona) patch went well and it was allowed to dry. All the patching shows through the paint...my garage looks like a spider web ☹ Any chance of saving it?
Its not that the paint show through, its the flat texture you get from the pre mix when you flatten it. To match existing stucco, youll have to buy the bag and mix it in. Some use a brush to apply the final texture.
If your gonna show how to patch stucco use a plaster to do the job, the wall looks like just like a spread and texture that has been painted over. And I'm sure the patch didn't come close to matching.

Hey, I'm not a stucco pro by any means at all, so I have an ignorant question. The stucco inspector of my house said that we should paint the stucco to seal it and keep the water out, but then the contractor that did the actual work said that it's extremely bad to paint stucco because it keeps the moisture stuck in the wall instead of letting the stucco breathe. Anyone have any comments on this? I'm trying to learn what I can so that I can make very minor repairs to my stucco house.
