Henry Armstrong, Deserves a lot of respect he was a amazing fighter, he held the featherweight, Lightweight and welterweight titles at The same time, He then jumped up to middleweight and boxed sugar ray Robinson, Armstrong deserves a lot of respect and is definitely A All time great.
Henry Armstrong won the title at Featherweight then Welterweight then went down to 135 and won that one too. Defended the welter belt some 15-17 times. Let that settle for a minute. And fought for the middleweight belt and got a draw too. He was robbed . He held 3 title during the days of only EIGHT WORLD TITLES. YES, there were only EIGHT titles.
I know this is an old comment but i just had to comment on it. I always laugh when people talk about Pacquiao being the only "8 division champ" in the history of boxing. The only reason why is simply because back then there wasn't any super or light inbetween the original weightclasses, and only ONE belt per weight class. So not like today when you have 4 world champions in 17 weightclasses, and you can just go for the weakest title holder and call yourself champ. Back then, you either was THE champ or you were a contender.
“You are not answering my question” would have been easier to say lol. I respect Bernard’s career and mental discipline, but dude gotta stop trying to be like Eubank Sr 2.0
trochez89 Hopkins showed losing ur first match didn’t matter, won 22 and lost to Roy then was became the first 4 title Middleweight lineal Champ in a 10 year run as the man at 160 stopping 32-0 Glen Johnson, 40-0 Trinidad, 37-3 Oscar he kayoed and Oscar would after lose a SD to Floyd, and Hopkins would be ripped off after 20 successful defenses vs Undefeated Jermain Taylor but Hopkins moved up 2 weight classes beating Target, Wright, lost a SD to Undefeated Calzaghe, beat 34-0 Pavlik, and after a loss to Dawson beat Pascal, Undefeated Cloud, and Shumenov becoming WBA/IBF LH Champ 2 months shy of 50 and lost his last two as most greats do as he took on Undefeated Kovalev and a guy with 1 loss, not an MMA fighter who was 0-0 - fake too, Floyd carried him and when and how many times was Floyd an underdog? Maybe once vs Corrales
+Thought Jenkins What talk? Are you implying that Henry Armstrong is over hyped? Because that would be ridiculous. At a time when there was only eight divisions and only one world title in each, he held three of those titles simultaneously and still holds the record for the most welterweight title defences.
+Tyrell Hubbard I mean, Armstrong held the featherweight, lightweight and welterweight titles at the same time. Back when there were only eight weight classes and one champ in each weight class. Not discounting what Floyd's done at all; they're both great
Hopkins has been waiting to say this about Floyd for a very long time. Hopkins fights the hardest fights and wont duck a SOUL, this is the only way that hopins can get to the dum, deaf, and blind. Time to expose these exploits in boxing, but not only boxing.....Hopkins is saying some real life
Wow, Benard is like E.F. Hutton! When he speaks, everybody listens. I admirer Hopkins for being as straight-forward and as honest as he can possibly be. Damn, is that dangling?
jodeci parker Ali is one of the rare exceptions. He said he was the greatest but he never used it as an argument. Big difference with the way some others pretend to be the best today. Ali was for real and he fought everybody. He couldn't wait to fight the best and prove who is the better man. Today's boxing is soooo different man... Sad but true.
armstrong also didnt have the luxury of the new sub divisons, he had to jump full weight classes...he also didnt have the luxury or picking wbc wba ibf or wbo. he fought the 1 champ! the true best!
True that, why would you compete if you dont think u are the best? But this generation of kids and brainwashed ppl believe everything that comes out of floyds mouth. I dont mind floyd thinking he is the best ever, but when fans acknowledge that its kind of pathetic. Most of the ppl that believe he is TBE are just kids who have never watched boxing before floyd came into the picture. They forget boxing has beena round for more than 100 years
He's being real. but I see him hating a little bit. Boxing had more relations now than ever before. Ali is the greatest. but was only in one weight class. You can't take away Mayweathers accomplishment because he didn't fight how you wanted him to. Also mayweather being a successful black business owner in a business known for slaving, chewing up and spitting out boxers is a HUGE accomplishment by itself. It sounds real. But he's hating.
I understand that. The whole thing comes with balance. At the end of the day. Boxing takes the body through alot of pain. And what YOU do to YOUR body. Then YOU will have to live with it. So to punish your body for the entertainment of others. I think you should get paid handsomely for it. But i do understand what you're saying.
+Malcolm Brown a stupid mans report of what a clever man says can never be accurate because he subconsciously translates what he hears into something he understands if you understood that you wouldn't be saying what your saying..
+Malcolm Brown No he is clarifying. He is saying what it takes to actually be the best of all time and pointing out that basically nobody CURRENT has done even what just Henry Armstrong did in his career. Mayweather moved up sure but he did not fight the best at those weights or in their primes most of the time. Hopkins is exposing what a lot of unbiased people criticize Floyd for; if he wants to call himself the best EVER he needed to do a lot more because plenty of people did more before him without the asterisks. But again he points out correctly; you would have to be educated on boxing to know that Floyd is only the best of THIS era but certainly not in the discussion for best of ALL eras. Not even close. Not even on Armstrong level let alone someone like SRR. B-Hop is saying it is all hype if you claim to be the best ever if history doesn't support your claims. Ali has more claim to that than Floyd and he's maybe the only other guy who paraded being the greatest of all time. Even Ali despite being greater than Floyd in a lot of ways is arguably not the greatest either. Maybe in his weight class but not of all time p4p. Floyd is nowhere near the best ever. That is just boxing history. At best he TIED Marciano and even Marciano is questionable greatest ever material. Floyd didn't even dare to break that record yet claims to be greater. He only needed one more fight but does not even grant a rematch against his most reputable opponent because he did not like that he was injured when they fought? Some greatest ever...
B Hop had competition, had tough ass fights.. Oscar De La Hoya, Jermain Taylor, Winky Wright, Roy Jones, Jr. Chad Dawson, Joe Calzaghe, B Hop is that nigga, respect this legend man.. 55-6-2
It's not hating he's speaking the truth. Young kids don't know past what they saw. They are amazed when a fighter goes 49-0, 26 world title fights but werent alive to see that just 20 years ago someone went 89-0 and had 32 world title wins. Boxing has hundreds of years of history, this isnt football or baseball
Mago, i will give you more then 5 names in this post but first i want to explain to you why your post shows that you are a novice to boxing, and have likely never stepped foot in a ring, yes im saying you dont know shit about boxing, here's why; 1. hall of fame doesnt mean your a good boxer, it just means your famous in boxing. Silvester stallone is in the new york boxing hall of fame,so is gatti but Hamed is not. 2. pretty much every state [not just in the US but in phillipines, UK, Germany, Ikraune, Russia and Mexico] has their own hall of fame, so which hall of fame are you speaking of? according to new york hall of fame the guy i mentioned beat 6 hof's, but according to mexico city hall of fame he beat 23 hall of famers.... different people are famous in different countries, if you use that as a basis on who's famous people are better boxers truth is you dont know shit about boxing. A better judge is how many top 10 contenders and champions a boxer beat, my boy had 32 world championship title wins and here is a list of the top 10 contenders/champions he beat; Roger Mayweather, Meldrick Taylor, Hector "Macho" Camacho, Ruben Castillo, Rocky Lockridge, Terrence Alli, Frankie Randall, Edwin Rosario, Jean LaPorte, Rafael "Bazooka" Limon, Jose Luis Ramirez, Francisco Tomas Da Cruz, Angel Hernandez, Frankie Mitchell, Greg Haugen, Marty Jakubowski, Joey Gamache, Miguel Angel Gonzalez, Tony Lopez, Giovanni Parisi, Alberto Cortes, Jaime "Rocky" Balboa, Kyung-Duk Ahn, John Duplessis, Lonnie Smith, Tommy Small, Danilo Cabrera, Mario "Azabache" Martinez, Adriano Arreola, Nicky Perez, David Kamau, Rodolfo Aguilar, Andy Holligan and Buck Smith. A bit more than 5 but i hope that works for ya. Truth is he was champion when a new title was introduced, and imo the more titles are brought in the more watered down the competition becomes, each org. has their top 10 contenders and champions, so he did his thing in his time.
BHop is legit. All the hating on BHop are new boxing fans. Kids who were watching power rangers when BHop was owning the middleweight division. Probably part of the world star hip crap circle. GTFO and make your idol richer while you're getting poorer. You're a sucker if you pay for FM Jr fights.
I enjoy both Pac and Floyd, different styles, both great. Pac in 1998 won the WBC Flyweight title at 112. Than all the way to the welterweight title at 147. The 154lb title is tainted by a catchweight @ 150 still...quite the accomplishments if he does nothing else. And, btw, B-Hop wants to fight Stevenson to unify the titles @ 50??? Yes @ 50 years of age, this next year.
Maybe.....but just look at the acne and boils on Marquez. He's much more likely on PEDs yet he gets a pass. He refused to test with both Bradley and Alvarado. 'Roids are a big problem in the sport.
but wheres the boils and acne from pac if he is using peds like marquez? i think some researcher did some studies, pac has 8inch wrist like tyson, and much bigger skeleton than any other fighter he fought..just take time to search... youll be shocked.... Godbless!!!
Bernard is a legend spitting the truth he had no business accomplishing what he did in his career from age 36-49 those were his PRIME years! most guys would be done during that time 20 title defenses top 5 middleweight of all time..beat some of the beat Light heavyweights first ballot HOF... easy
Floyd went up 5 weightclasses which included junior classes. If you want to make that case about Floyd then Armstrong would've gone up 8 if you include the junior divisions.
i was anwering some body question that they asked me !! they didnt know that the fights were 15 rounds. when armstrong was fighting... so the point is i wasnt talking to u, do u get the point!!!! UNBEILEVEABLE!!!!! I WAS SPEAKING TO BOXING WAVE.. BUT SINCE U WANT TO TALK BOXING IM AII EARS,IKNOW WITH OUT THE JR WEIGHT CLASS ARMSTRONG WENT THOUGH AT LEAST 8 WEIGHT DIV. NOW ABOUT LANGFORD HE WENT THOUGH ALL THOSE WEIGHT CLASSES AND TO TELL U THE TRUTH I LOOKED IT UP AND U ARE CORRECT. HEY THANKS DAM I DIDNT KNOW HE WENT UP THAT MUCH.
THERE WAS NO 130 AND 154 during Armstrong's days. So, Floyd then would have only moved from 130 to 147 unless he wanted to fight the middleweight champion of the world .
one thing i dislike about the generation i'm apart of, is that when someone calls out another person in their field (whether it be basketball, football, boxing, music, etc.) they call the guy a "HATER" it's not HATING it's competition. you gotta' keep people in check. gtfoh with all this kumbaya, holding hands by the campfire bullshit. why are people so soft nowadays.
I love b-hop why is he holding so many press interviews, I remember when I walked 30 miles to school and 30 miles back home . Well I remember when we had a flint rock and slate to make fire, what the hell. But I'm a fan
+Roseita Kouns He's telling us to remember the actual past instead of being brainwashed into believing lies. This guy sounds crazy cause he's actually awake. They live, we sleep. Even saying he shouldn't be in this era, and he's preaching. We need more of this from everyone no matter from where you come. Or your profession. TRUTH.
Floyd beat everyone from 130 to 154..B-Hop hating..wants to fight Floyd..but doesn't want to fight GGG...or Andre Ward..Adonis Stevenson? Stop the hating..we cannot deny the fact Mayweather is undefeated...18 yrs Champion..we can't deny that..
Straight up bro I agree with u, saw this video and lost mad respect for B-hop when all he's trying to do is get a paycheck himself and sold out on this one smh. He was kissing Andre Ward ass like man u know I don't want to fight u I told them I wouldn't fight u lol. With his hug a bear boxing style.
Chris Martin, I thought I've seen all his fights but I must have missed when he beat Casamyor, Freitas, Kosta Tzu, Margarito, Paul Williams, Vernon Forrest, Vivian Harris, Winky Wright, and Pacquiao. Where can I find these fights I always heard how easy he would beat them but I was wondering why he never fought them. Where can I see them?
Yeah of course he got dropped thats boxing but mayweather will never fight someone that will put him in that position. At the end of the day pacquiao resume is better than floyds beginning to end
Jovon Cruz That it the truth and nothing but the truth. Money picks his fighters. He even claim in an all access video against Robert Ghost that he always watches tape on fights before he picks them...if he doesn't like what he sees, he moves on until he is confident enough to take the fight. That's no champ. The champ takes any fighter anytime on any circumstance. You want to talk about real champs, google Julio Cesar Chavez. You never hear about bs requirements coming from him, or picking easy fights to conserve his record. All these dudes are caught up on this business side of things like hop said. Back in the day, champs fought the best period with no bs. There are only a hand full of real champs in my book and money is the champ now (on paper that is), and a talented fighter, not TBE. Danny swift falls in the category now with his bs fight he just picked up...fighting the 77th ranked in the lightweight division...WTF is that, c'on now..."champ." Paper ass champs. One more thing, most of the time people open their months and comment, i bet have never even stepped in the ring, not even as an amateur. If you were, you would hear what is said in the the gym from the old school dudes like hop about most of these paper ass champs. I hear it all the time in my gym.
when Floyd beat canelo there is footage of Hopkins calling him top three all time, now that he will not be getting the fight, he is saying this?...smh. Hopkins is a legend but to call out a guy 2 full weight divisions below is shady, and Hopkins has a history of being shady
lmao worst yet bhop is WRONG about armstrong. he never fought as middleweight higheset he ever went was 146 but stayed around 140s. he never fought a middlewieght either bad look for bhop
he knows he is hating, damn shame what bitterness and jealousy does. this video has really pissed me off and my ratings of hopkins has dropped because of it. he wants floyd at 160? Floyd barely makes 154 limit. But the guy doesnt wana go near ward at 168 or mention GGG at 160. Fuck the promotional differences
He go all the way bak to say Henry Armstrong, rather than just say Roy Jones Jr! Roy went all the way up to heavyweight (beat Hopkins bak in his prime) and beat John Ruiz(for the heavy weight title) and then got stripped of the title. When u tlkin TBE...Roy Jones is That, if not Top 3! Drops mic 💯✌🏿
Moving up from 126-160 and never complained about his size and is a top 1 or 2 fighter? Pacquiao. I think Hopkins brought up Armstrong to point out that what Armstrong and Pacquiao did is more impressive than Floyd in that regard and by Floyd's own measuring stick where he talked trash about Ali for not fighting in different weight classes. However, Pacquiao is not running around screaming TBE despite winning the most amount of weight classes in history at 8. He's taking a jab at Floyd for not fighting GGG who is a 160. Heck Floyd didn't even want to break Marciano's record of 49-0 despite a hug paycheck to be made fighting Pacquiao in a rematch. There is business and there is fooling people.
FOH. Poochiao is the catchweight king. How many title defenses did he have in those weight classes. Floyd also moved up from Featherweight, lightweight, welterweight to jr middleweight.
fabrizzio monsalve He's making the point that moving up in weight that amount of weight classes is impressive. Pac went up the same amount. He's pointing out that calling yourself TBE without having done that is a lie. If you haven't moved up that many weight classes Armstrong and Pacquiao have done more than you but neither of them paraded themselves as the best ever. Hopkins is pointing out the difference between saying you are the best ever and actually being it. And Hopkins talks good about Floyd AND Pacquiao a lot. He's criticizing the lack of humility in comparison to previous greats that Floyd displays when he says he is TBE
its incredible how henry Armstrong moved up to 5 different weight classes, win or lose he would fight anybody anytime anytime place, unlike mayweather who wont even fight many pacman, also sam Langford, I believe he fought at many weight divisions and he was like 5'6-' 5'7 feet tall
These comments are disgusting. Flomos raiding and hating on the great B-Hop just cause he says no one can call themselves the greatest of all time. B-Hop is dropping all kinds of truth on us and these muhfuckas are like " Bhop hating " " 49-0" "tbe Floyd"
This salty mofo is just upset Floyd didnt go to 160 to give him a payday.Floyd moved up 5 divisions how many did this guy move up. He was busy fighting welterweights that moved up.Tell him to move up 5 divsions then come talk. Pacquiao and Maywether can claim to be the greatest. They both did stuff no one has seen in modern boxing.
Uwais Desai this is about the STUPIDEST comment I've read so far.. don't compare Floyd to this legend... smfh. Floyd is to the generation these days like what lil yachty and lil uzi and young thug is to the new generation of hip hop is these days. EASY TO TRICK YOUR MIND INTO BUYING THE GARBAGE THEY SELLING. Weak minded individuals who beg for a trend from these famous people to make them look cool to be accepted.
the funniest thing is that when he asks about a current fighter who fought in five weight classes and never complained about being too small best describes pacquiao
BERNARD WENT ON GOOGLE TO TRY AND DISPROVE MAYWEATHER'S TBE STATEMENT....BUT HE SAID A FEW YEARS AG THAT FLOYD WAS TOP 3 EVER....HE IS CLEARLY A HATER.....DONT BE MAD AT THE BUSINESS MOVES THAT FLOYD HAS MADE...THIS GUY ROLLS WITH GOLDEN BOY.....
March 1, 1940, Armstrong enter the ring in Los Angeles’ Gilmore Stadium. His objective is the middleweight title, thus attaining half of the Sweet Science’s crowns. His opponent is the current champ, Ceferino Garcia.
The hilarious part of what BHOP is saying is that he stayed at one division for the entirety of his prime career and ONLY moved up once he got shown up against Taylor. One division, yet BHOP uses Armstrong's 5 divisions as a measuring stick. He's clearly speaking about Mayweather, who also did the same thing in 5 divisions. So maybe BHOP better brush up on his reading comprehension skills because clearly he didn't realize before making this rant that Mayweather has gone up as many divisions and beaten the recognized best. It would be one thing if Mayweather was pulling a Pacquiao and waiting for guys to get beaten and ONLY then be willing to fight them. No. Instead Mayweather is fighting champions who are either undefeated, or are on fire because of their last win. No fighter in history has fought everybody. Not even the consensus P4P#1 Ray Robinson fought everybody. Neither did Armstrong. What Hopkins is attempting to do is tear down others by citing others because he knows he's not close to even being in the conversation about best ever. If Hopkins truly thought that competing in 5 divisions makes a fighter the best, then isn't the next logical question "Why did Hopkins only compete in 1 division for the majority of his career"? Hopkins can afford to move up now because at his advanced age, no one will hold losses against him. Anyone who fights Hopkins is in a lose/lose situation because a win over BHOP means little because everyone will say "Oh he's old and was supposed to lose". A loss over BHOP however makes him look like an old dog that's still got it but his opponent is shamed because he got beat by an old man. Lots of guys talk shit about Mayweather because they don't want ANYONE to outshine them. Most of the so called greats only competed in 1-2 divisions. Most of them lost to men who weren't supposed to beat them. Most of them ended up broke and with dementia. So guys like Leonard and Hagler will talk shit because they are watching a guy do what they should have, but didn't. They are watching a guy become richer than all of them combined. They are watching a guy create a legacy that incredible. What really stings is that they are watching Mayweather position himself to break Marciano's record. They didn't do it. They were out of the running because they got defeated, not because the retired. So when they see a young, outspoken guy who doesn't play the modest role and tells them frankly to their face that he is better than they were based on the fact that he's doing more against the best in more divisions, they can't stomach that. It really doesn't matter whose opinion says what. The stats and numbers reflect the best despite opinions. But BHOP inadvertently and unknowingly gave Mayweather the biggest compliment and endorsement by comparing what Floyd has done to what Armstrong has done without realizing that they both climbed the same amount of divisions and both fought the best willing champions in each division. BHOP just showed his green eyes in this video though. And envy isn't a color that looks good on him.
***** Where did I write that he "cleaned out" any division? You're making up arguments that you can win because they don't exist for anyone but you, sir. Mayweather is #1 at WW since his fight against DLH. He's also simultaneously #1 at jr middleweight. People play games with trying to "install" fighters into certain ranks, but real fans know its bullshit. You say its not impressive compared to BHOP's? You don't know a thing about what you're attempting to discuss and that's now obvious. BHOP competed in 1 division and lost to Roy Jones, then fought for a vacated belt that Jones left behind when he went up to fight then P4P#1 James Toney. BHOP only managed a draw and finally won the rematch. Afterwards, BHOP didn't fight another champion in his own division for HALF A DECADE. That's five years for those who don't know. Then, after that five year period, BHOP made a name for himself by fighting welterweights who were coming up in weight to face Roy Jones. BHOP fought them before they could make it to RJJ's level and won. THAT'S HOW BHOP GOT MADE A NAME FOR HIMSELF. You probably wouldn't know that because you don't know boxing. BHOP was and is one of thee most dirty yet boring boxers in the history of the sport. BHOP did not fight ANY MIDDLEWEIGHT worth mentioning aside from Roy Jones at during his prime. All the other so-called chances BHOP took came WAAAAY after he was out of his prime .. including his fights against Jermain Taylor. Its not a big deal nor is it very significant when a man passed his prime takes chances because he has little to lose. BHOP REFUSED to take chances during his prime because he did not believe in his chances. BHOP is a legend because of his longevity at middleweight, not because he beat anyone significant that was established at 160 or above. He stayed at 160 waaay too long after EVERYONE but him realized that there were no challenges left at 160 once Roy Jones left. The ONLY reason that BHOP is given respect in the game is because he has proven that through discipline, one can still compete well passed 40. How do I know that? Because BHOP hasn't done ANYTHING worth talking about when he was younger than 40. Beating Trinidad and DLH, who by the way were never forces above 147lbs, was no crowning achievement. They were established WWs. In fact, DLH debuted at lightweight and moved up the ranks. You speak of Hopkins as if he was kicking ass and taking names. Hopkins has kicked SOME ass, but all the names were either unrecognizable or insignificant at the weight in which fought them And if you argue that it doesn't matter what weight they fought at, and the BHOP didn't force DLH and Trinidad to fight him, then you're a child. If Mayweather went up to 160 and lost to BHOP, would that make BHOP an even bigger star? Absolutely not. Why? Because Mayweather struggles to fight at 154lbs. He's not at his best as its his 5th division. Hopkins is a career MW who stayed there for 90% of his career. He has ONLY ventured higher once it became clear that he was not to be taken seriously anymore. I've clearly watched and know more about BHOP than you do. Do you remember when BHOP was getting his ass kicked by Robert Allen and threw himself out of the ring and claimed that he couldn't continue? Of course you don't. You just repeat the bullshit you hear and hope no one knows shit to challenge you. Well you've been challenged. Look at who BHOP actually fought. Come back and list this star studded resume that supposedly outshines Mayweather. You must be on drugs, dude. Either that or you're trying to bullshit you way through a conversation without know what it is you're talking about.
***** The truth is that my comment didn't require a point by point response. In fact, it didn't require a response at all. You may respond, but the facts were presented to quiet the nonsense, not to debate whether you like them or not. I can't think of a response you could come up with that has to do with the subject matter that would offer anything new. You might argue that you disagree, but then we both know that you would have no basis In which to disagree aside from you not wanting to be seen as having to agree. BHOP is an all time great and a polarizing character, but his resume is far from elite. Read. Learn. THEN reply.
I can always count on my boy J Smith to recognize bullshit when he hears it. Ain't it funny how B-Hop is talking like he is an all time great. Yet, he is going down in history for nothing more, but the age in which he is doing it. . . And wasn't it B-Hoo that was trying to promote a "mega fight" with Floyd Mayweather at a catchweight, but no one fell for it... And wasn't it B-Hop that promoted the entire Hopkins vs Calzahge fight by acting like a so called BAFOON... from city to city "he went on camera stating that he'd never get beat by a white boy... Now he's so eloquent... Wouldn't you agree? Lol! He is right about one thing though... We are in a different Era and he is two generations past retirement, because it's no coincidence that Mayweather went from Pretty Boy to Money. He's selling something Bernard "The Alien" Hopkins... All the greats do it! Manny had his "I am the victim" rant that went on for almost a decade... While he cheated on his wife, gambled and drank everyday, then juiced up for 12 weeks and walked through every welterweight in the division while making millions. The. When he got knocked out JMM he was to compassionate to hurt another fighter at the beginning of every pre fight interview, but he had JMM hurt and was going in "FOR THE KILL" at the end of pre fight interview. Ali was the greatest of all time. Mike Tyson's style was "impregnable." Sugar Ray Leonard, Hector Camacho, Prince Nasseem Hamed, and the list goes on and on. They all talked crap about their opponents, but if we were to go down their list of opponents we'd realize that Leonard never fought Hagler or Hearns every week, Ali didn't fight Frazier or Foreman every other fight... I like B-Hop and what he's doing is incredible at his age, but him pretending to state facts about boxing history and leaving out parts of boxing history to make himself look more impressive than the next man is complete jealousy.... If Floyd had fought in Armstrongs Era he'd be even more impressive. When Armstrong fought they fought they weighed in the day of the fight... Meaning Armstrong was more than likely fighting guys perhaps shorter than him but the same size... Today average fighters are being known as punchers when in fact they are just knocking out guys 3 weight classes below them... Example Chavez Jr! And that B-Hoo is making your 2 weight class jump that your bragging about looking a little less impressive compared to the greats.... And Floyd's 5 weight class look even more impressive... I CALL STRAIGHT JEALOUSY! If B-Hop would've gotten the Mayweather fight... He would've taken it... And how challenging is that? But, it's so eloquent wouldn't you agree?
when u consider who's the best ever u have to think about stats and skill levels. henry armstrong doesn't compare to floyd mayweather in terms of skill, floyd would box circles around armstrong, and that's the truth. henry is the greater boxer because of his achievements, but floyd is the better, more skillful fighter.
I watched the first 30 seconds, until he mentioned Henry Armstrong---he could have stopped right there and let people do there own research about weight divisions and belts if they want to know boxing.
B Hop you take a L for this one why because you a brother hating on another brother first off being called king or queen is a way of thinking so you could call yourself king and no one should have shit to say about it but him saying he the best ever and beating everyone in 4 different weight classes as well then a brother can start to feel a certain way so why you quote on quote sitting there with the man try and learn something from him/them because I guarantee he not bad mouthing that other white guy at lease not on film no way
I want people to understand something and watch videos Mayweather use TBE and tool to finish the goal he set out decades ago.Motivation is the key to becoming a legend not just who you fought not the weight class not the money you be to mention with the true legends. B Hop and the slam May for accomplishing what they couldn't and learned the business at a young age and maintained focus. Hard work dedication wasn't a slogan it was May way of life he was a kid. MAYWEATHER family had three greats the father , th late great uncle and Recently retired Jr. A FOUNDATION IS WAHT MAY HAD HE JUST BUILD UPON THE BRICKS.########TBE
Well, technically Pacman's record is more impressive than Floyd's in my opinion. Plus he is the peoples champ and fun to watch. I vote him as the best boxer of the 2000-2010 era.
The thing is that with Mayweather you know that he'll dominate in his weight range, but there will be big doubts as to whether he can handle the next weight class.. with BHop on the other hand, fighting from MW to HW you will already know in the back of your mind that he'll 1. make it to the end and 2. give the opponent problems throughout the fight
Bro what are you even saying. Mayweather started at junior light weight (130) and won titles in 5 weight classes up to 154 lbs. Not to mention at welterweight and junior middleweight he consistently fought people who were 10 to 15 lbs heavier than him. Thats a difference of 24 lbs from where he started. Bernard started at 160 and fought in his way up to 175. Thats a 15 lb weight difference from where he started.
I understand the point Hopkins was trying to make but just think he should do a bit of fact checking before somebody that doesn't know any better tries to invalidate his message. Henry Armstrong fought Sugar Ray Robinson at welterweight (147lbs) not middleweight like Hopkins stated. And it should be noted that this was toward the end of Armstrong's career as he was 12 years older than Robinson. But Armstrong was a beast, 150 wins with 101 KOs and he did hold the Featherweight(126), Lightweight (135) and Welterweight(147) titles in the same year back when there were only 8 total divisions and ONE recognized title per division.
Hopkins is right on many levels, but he does himself a HUGE dis-service by challenging guys like Mayweather instead of guys like Golovkin, Ward, and Stevenson.
Cotto has moved from 140 to 160, Marquez from 126 to 147, Manny from 118 to 150 and Floyd 130 to 154. He's just talking out his ass. He didn't know shit about Armstrong but his name.
***** I did get the point you fucking idiot. Floyd is not even a WW and you want him to fight at 10 just ebcause you want to see a 38 year old man lose against someone much bigger than him. Pathetic hater. Floyd start at 130....He should be nowhere near 160.
Although I'm in 100% agreement with the Armstrong statements and people being like sheep. Is LeBron and Kobe not a good player because he don't have the Ewings, Byrds, Barkleys, Malones, Johnsons, Etc... Was Jesse Owens not fast? Was Ken Griffreynot great in any other era?
He is just saying boxing has a deep history with MANY great champions and it's ridiculous when you try to fool people into thinking you're the BOAT when you aren't.
The skill level back then was absent. Every one of Floyd opponents would have been killers 80 years ago. Most boxers back in the day had day jobs. Boxing was a side gig. BHop is just a jealous man trying to stay relevant. Floyd is the face if boxing and has surpassed him in the areas where it counts and he can't stand it!
Maywheather is the best ever. This is how he proves it. Instead of fighting the top welterweights in the world like Spencer or Thurman he fights McGreoger who has never fought a professional boxing fight in his life. This is how he makes his claim to greatness. Now you are going to love that 50-0 record.
People who dick ride on FM and mention his fight record.. Rocky Marciano had 49-0..and 43 KO's...is Rocky TBE ? Peak Prime Roberto Duran would have Knocked out Floyd Mayweather Jr in a Lightweight fight! And Iam not even gonna mention Sugar Ray Robinson, Sugar Ray Leonard, Marvelous Marvin Hagler, Tomas Hearns and all those guys..
B-Hop is a boxer giving his opinion on a boxing related subject. He's more than qualified to speak on this subject. Whether you agree or not is totally up to you.
B hop fought Tito and nobody in the building thought he would win that fight. Destroyed him. B hop fought Oscar in his prime big dog again. Stopped him with a body shot to liver. Oscar hadn't been down in 5 years.
B Hop, a real boxing legend.
Mmm nah stop it being 8 time world champ does make you special you just a hater
Not to mention Armstrong wasn’t winning alphabet trinkets like guys today.
BH is not only great inside the ring but also he's an intelligent and educated man. He's a great talk too. Just loved the way he talks.
''You're not asking what I'm saying''' LOL
😂😂😂
Yeah, but those sort of statements kind of have their own logic to them if you hear them enough.
+Brett Endresen nah bra. Not this time.
“You are not answering my question” would have been easier to say lol. I respect Bernard’s career and mental discipline, but dude gotta stop trying to be like Eubank Sr 2.0
WOW cant believe Bernard is Slamming Mayweather Jr. like that!!!!!! Well said Bernard!!!!!
Hopkins resume > Floyd resume
Fernando Harglass Pac Man? Yeah right he hasn't fought everyone.
Fernando Harglass how can marquez be the best of this era when he has lost to a lot of fighters. Get the fuck outta here
trochez89 Hopkins showed losing ur first match didn’t matter, won 22 and lost to Roy then was became the first 4 title Middleweight lineal Champ in a 10 year run as the man at 160 stopping 32-0 Glen Johnson, 40-0 Trinidad, 37-3 Oscar he kayoed and Oscar would after lose a SD to Floyd, and Hopkins would be ripped off after 20 successful defenses vs Undefeated Jermain Taylor but Hopkins moved up 2 weight classes beating Target, Wright, lost a SD to Undefeated Calzaghe, beat 34-0 Pavlik, and after a loss to Dawson beat Pascal, Undefeated Cloud, and Shumenov becoming WBA/IBF LH Champ 2 months shy of 50 and lost his last two as most greats do as he took on Undefeated Kovalev and a guy with 1 loss, not an MMA fighter who was 0-0 - fake too, Floyd carried him and when and how many times was Floyd an underdog? Maybe once vs Corrales
It gets me though when people say Floyd has fought many champions due to the amount of weight classes and belts.
Hopkins is one of the best ever when this man talks you hear so much knowledge man
This is dumb, Floyd fought at 154. twice and won
+Tyrell Hubbard That still pales in comparison to what Henry Armstrong accomplished.
+Thought Jenkins What talk? Are you implying that Henry Armstrong is over hyped? Because that would be ridiculous. At a time when there was only eight divisions and only one world title in each, he held three of those titles simultaneously and still holds the record for the most welterweight title defences.
+Victor “Supermanhulkjesus” Chevrestt exactly most a these guys don't even know the 10 best fighters from Armstrong's era
+Victor “Supermanhulkjesus” Chevrestt And how many Henry armstrong fights and you watched?
BHOP. Always shooting straight
What a man, no matter what happens tonight against Krusher, Bernard is an inspiration and one of the true greats in all sport. FMJ take note...
Old school throwback....legend!
pac went up like 8 or 9 weight categories, from light flywweight to welter weight but never heard of him saying he's the best ever.
Of course he aint the best , but he has the best drug dealer lmaaooo !!
pac didnt win a belt untl he was in the 122 division so that arguement is invalid
temokam cool story bro.
Tywin Lannister: Any man who must say, "I am the best" is no true best.
jodeci parker Ali is one of the rare exceptions. He said he was the greatest but he never used it as an argument. Big difference with the way some others pretend to be the best today. Ali was for real and he fought everybody. He couldn't wait to fight the best and prove who is the better man. Today's boxing is soooo different man... Sad but true.
armstrong also didnt have the luxury of the new sub divisons, he had to jump full weight classes...he also didnt have the luxury or picking wbc wba ibf or wbo. he fought the 1 champ! the true best!
every great fighter should consider themselves TBE. its that inner confidence in themselves that allows them to be great
True that, why would you compete if you dont think u are the best? But this generation of kids and brainwashed ppl believe everything that comes out of floyds mouth. I dont mind floyd thinking he is the best ever, but when fans acknowledge that its kind of pathetic. Most of the ppl that believe he is TBE are just kids who have never watched boxing before floyd came into the picture. They forget boxing has beena round for more than 100 years
Could listen to B-Hop all day.
+Malcolm Brown He's simply talking about doing it for the sport and not the money, and humility.
You're an idiot to become a corporate bitch when you have enough to be completely free.
B Hop had competition, had tough ass fights.. Oscar De La Hoya, Jermain Taylor, Winky Wright, Roy Jones, Jr. Chad Dawson, Joe Calzaghe, B Hop is that nigga, respect this legend man.. 55-6-2
Instead of calling him a hater people need come out the matrix and realize what this man speaks is the truth!!!
Speak the truth Bernard!
The OG of today's boxing world. Mad respect.
Robinson Ray are you talking about that guy that fought nothing but bums.. name 5 hall of fame he beat ??
Mago, i will give you more then 5 names in this post but first i want to explain to you why your post shows that you are a novice to boxing, and have likely never stepped foot in a ring, yes im saying you dont know shit about boxing, here's why;
1. hall of fame doesnt mean your a good boxer, it just means your famous in boxing.
Truth is he was champion when a new title was introduced, and imo the more titles are brought in the more watered down the competition becomes, each org. has their top 10 contenders and champions, so he did his thing in his time.
straight up told it how it is,how it was,and how it will be. my man. b-hop.
Owning and beating who in the process?
BlackOwnedDollars Are you serious? RJ Jr was fighter of the decade 1990s. Go look up his record in boxrec.
77BeatsPerMinute Washed up Roy? Oh ok. What a great accomplishment
That is the truth!
I wish there was a reporter there that called him out about fighting Andre Ward.
Yeah PAC man did it but with Alex Arizas help if u know what I mean
Maybe.....but just look at the acne and boils on Marquez. He's much more likely on PEDs yet he gets a pass. He refused to test with both Bradley and Alvarado. 'Roids are a big problem in the sport.
but wheres the boils and acne from pac if he is using peds like marquez? i think some researcher did some studies, pac has 8inch wrist like tyson, and much bigger skeleton than any other fighter he fought..just take time to search... youll be shocked.... Godbless!!!
I love to hear him talk, I hate to watch him box
Wise man. More respect and dicipline than most black boxers. One of the greats....real champ.
Bernard is a legend spitting the truth he had no business accomplishing what he did in his career from age 36-49 those were his PRIME years! most guys would be done during that time 20 title defenses top 5 middleweight of all time..beat some of the beat Light heavyweights first ballot HOF... easy
Floyd went from 130 to 154 , 5 weight classes he's also 5'8
152*
the Delahoya fight was at 154 so ....
Why should Anybody have to move up if it's fights at they weight?
one thing i dislike about the generation i'm apart of, is that when someone calls out another person in their field (whether it be basketball, football, boxing, music, etc.) they call the guy a "HATER"
it's not HATING it's competition. you gotta' keep people in check. gtfoh with all this kumbaya, holding hands by the campfire bullshit. why are people so soft nowadays.
Smart man
I love b-hop why is he holding so many press interviews, I remember when I walked 30 miles to school and 30 miles back home . Well I remember when we had a flint rock and slate to make fire, what the hell. But I'm a fan
Roseita Kouns You walked 30 miles to school? Did you leave like 6 hours early?
S. Gallo xD
+Roseita Kouns damm thats like 5 km right!!¿ runnnnnn
+Roseita Kouns
He's telling us to remember the actual past instead of being brainwashed into believing lies. This guy sounds crazy cause he's actually awake. They live, we sleep. Even saying he shouldn't be in this era, and he's preaching. We need more of this from everyone no matter from where you come. Or your profession. TRUTH.
good point
the only guy who calls him "the best ever" is floyd mayweather jr. Bernard is definatly dissing floyd.
With his hug a bear boxing style.
this looks bad on bhops part because henry armstrong NEVER FOUGHT AT MIDDLEWEIGHT not even close highest was 146 but he stay around 140 wtf
***** I don't see the point of him even being in the ring lol. Oscars boy toy lol
Floyd is coming off 2 split decisions in a row.
Lisa wearing glasses was gassed up with the giggles.
Manny pacquiao 8 different divisions greatness
Steriod king .Mayweather is the best.Marquez dropped Pacquiao.
8 weight classes how many of them did he actually fight in the weight he done a catch weight with all of them so he never really moved up
Cesar Barajas
Respect B-hop!! Too many boxers fighting for the wrong reasons and following false idols.
when Floyd beat canelo there is footage of Hopkins calling him top three all time, now that he will not be getting the fight, he is saying this?...smh.
Top 3 all time and the best ever is completely different
mukeh sumner floyd has fought at 160 so whats the prob ?
pistolero951 who did floyd beat for the 160 title?
i give this man tons of credit for getting in the ring and fighting joe calzaghe
He tlkn bout floyd scared to fight gennady gelofkin or GGG at 157 but floyd is good but he's not the best by any means
Optimus 292 And also had catchweights...
gsimon123 Only against canelo.
fabrizzio monsalve Doesn't mean he can't or isn't criticizing him.
fabrizzio monsalve He's making the point that moving up in weight that amount of weight classes is impressive.
Listen up FLOYD
According to BoxRec Armstrong debuted at 120 lbs and fought his last fight at 141.
Y'all are damn fool this man is not hating he's telling it like it is
Hopkins giving words of wisdom .... younger fighters need to listen and learn ....learn your boxing history and dont repeat the mistakes of the past
These comments are disgusting. Flomos raiding and hating on the great B-Hop just cause he says no one can call themselves the greatest of all time. B-Hop is dropping all kinds of truth on us and these muhfuckas are like " Bhop hating " " 49-0" "tbe Floyd"
BTW IF U 2 READ MY POST IT SAYS WE ALL NO FLOYD WASNT THE( GOAT) THE PEOPLE DETERMNINE THAT .U WOULDNT BE REPLYING IN THE 1ST PLACE .
Khalid Ali I know, but you were criticising BHop.
Anees Niazi Floyd was better than Pac and that's a fact
Mago Barajas Who said anything about Pac ?
Did anyone find it ironic that towed the end of the video he talks about how great he is. 7 minutes and 14 seconds that I will never get back
This salty mofo is just upset Floyd didnt go to 160 to give him a payday.Floyd moved up 5 divisions how many did this guy move up. He was busy fighting welterweights that moved up.Tell him to move up 5 divsions then come talk. Pacquiao and Maywether can claim to be the greatest. They both did stuff no one has seen in modern boxing.
Word dis ugly hating ass nigga fuck Hopkins fuck trump and fuck Charles Barkley
Lol ok smdh
Its harder for a former 130 pounder to fight a middleweight, power difference is significant thats why they use 12 ounce.
+All Day All day long, staying strong!
Dropping knowledge since the 80s...
This is some real shit
the funniest thing is that when he asks about a current fighter who fought in five weight classes and never complained about being too small best describes pacquiao
BHop is a true champion...one of the best! TMT TBE!
I can think of one person who had 8 weight classes in our time period...
***** I have no idea what you're even talking about.
What is "that"?
Hopkins has kicked SOME ass, but all the names were either unrecognizable or insignificant at the weight in which fought them
And if you argue that it doesn't matter what weight they fought at, and the BHOP didn't force DLH and Trinidad to fight him, then you're a child.
***** If you didn't read than how can you judge the quality?
Hahaha .. silly rabbit. You comments are for kids.
WE (THE PEOPLE) APPRECIATE THE REAL TALK AND REAL WORLD EDUCATION B-HOP!
when u consider who's the best ever u have to think about stats and skill levels. henry armstrong doesn't compare to floyd mayweather in terms of skill, floyd would box circles around armstrong, and that's the truth. henry is the greater boxer because of his achievements, but floyd is the better, more skillful fighter.
Hugh Hefner near
I watched the first 30 seconds, until he mentioned Henry Armstrong---he could have stopped right there and let people do there own research about weight divisions and belts if they want to know boxing.
b-hop sounds real moist...he keep Floyd's name in his mouf!!
Oh Man! B-Hop Knows His Stuff
B Hop you take a L for this one why because you a brother hating on another brother first off being called king or queen is a way of thinking so you could call yourself king and no one should have shit to say about it but him saying he the best ever and beating everyone in 4 different weight classes as well then a brother can start to feel a certain way so why you quote on quote sitting there with the man try and learn something from him/them because I guarantee he not bad mouthing that other white guy at lease not on film no way
+MacKodak Williams Aren't you a brother hating on another brother??? (Hopkins)
MacKodak Williams agree hating don'tget you no where crazy this what this sounds like to me.
some fighters would complain that they risking their health
Floyd lost the respect of the fans when the fool started calling himself TBE
Dude's speaking a different tune now that he's on Canelo's side.
Love Bhop but Floyd is TBE... hands down
Most real nicca in boxing. My hometown city brotha. Philly representing with you and now Garcia. Philly in the MF-ing house babe. More to come.
don´t like his impositive ego attitude
It hurt your feelings?
He is making good points. The way I see it, we can all agree why Sugar Ray Robinson is still the standard.
He is jealous of Floyd simple
Well, technically Pacman's record is more impressive than Floyd's in my opinion. Plus he is the peoples champ and fun to watch. I vote him as the best boxer of the 2000-2010 era.
Floyd Money Mayweather 46-0 no losses no draws. 5 Divison champ 18 years world champ. Best defensive fighter EVER. TBE
real boxing history, from real fighters who went through the hardest.
The point he was making is if you are going to call yourself the best ever (TBE) then you have to fight the best and not avoid them
BHop is my all time favorite fighter..
Hopkins is right on many levels, but he does himself a HUGE dis-service by challenging guys like Mayweather instead of guys like Golovkin, Ward, and Stevenson.
ya he comes off as a bully but he takin on a killer so much props..
I didnt hear him challenging Mayweather ...just stating his opinion on what being TBE means
so why won't b-hop fight klitschko then
Cotto has moved from 140 to 160, Marquez from 126 to 147, Manny from 118 to 150 and Floyd 130 to 154. He's just talking out his ass. He didn't know shit about Armstrong but his name.
True
***** I did get the point you fucking idiot. Floyd is not even a WW and you want him to fight at 10 just ebcause you want to see a 38 year old man lose against someone much bigger than him. Pathetic hater. Floyd start at 130....He should be nowhere near 160.
He's not hating, and I agree 1000%
HOPKINS is the best ever. fucking 49 years old, and still fucking awesome.
He is just saying boxing has a deep history with MANY great champions and it's ridiculous when you try to fool people into thinking you're the BOAT when you aren't.
bhop should have the balls to say hes speaking about mayweather .
KnuckleGame100 aaaahhhh naaah. Everything is hating with u youngins right?
Maywheather is the best ever. This is how he proves it. Instead of fighting the top welterweights in the world like Spencer or Thurman he fights McGreoger who has never fought a professional boxing fight in his life. This is how he makes his claim to greatness. Now you are going to love that 50-0 record.
I think he's talking about both Mayweather and Adrian Broner. Mayweather was the one that told Hopkins that he Hopkins was too big for him.
I admire you Bernard Hopkins
bernard forget to mention PACQUIAO 8 weight classes hehehe
Bernard Hopkins and Oscar are haters, it's so sad, he tries to talk intelligent, but he's really not.
True champion & Legend! The eXecutioner, B-Hop!
B hop fought Tito and nobody in the building thought he would win that fight. Destroyed him. B hop fought Oscar in his prime big dog again. Stopped him with a body shot to liver. Oscar hadn't been down in 5 years.
