Thomas hit two posts that sounded like someone hit a bell with a hammer, echoing in the open ball park, that's an amazing setting for a hockey game🇺🇸🏒🇨🇦
Robby Thomas has a wicked shot and in the past 5 games he’s hit a few posts or scored or done both in all of them. The crazy thing is every post Rob Thomas hit the last handful games has made that sound.
As a Blues fan I’d have to agree with you, however had the League actually been using their brains they would have waited 2 to 3 years when the Blues and Hawks were both competitive again to have Chicago host the Winter Classic again.
Thomas hit the pipes. Binnington made a marvellous dave against Hall. Blues was the stronger team . Black Hawks have over 30 million invested in 6 forwards, who produce nothing. Occasionally some goals , but no winnning goals.
I do respect the Blackhawks franchise but why does one of the worst performing teams multiple years in a row get their 5th time in the classic over the defending champions or other teams who have never played? I get its about the money but good lord give other teams a turn.
@@paulrr5711No but if they wanted to have Florida in one, they could just set the venue in somewhere cold like Vancouver, Edmonton, Detroit, Toronto etc and just have Florida play one of those teams
Seth Jones has always been one of the league's most overrated players, a glorified second-pairing D-man. That was treated and paid like a superstar. Both on and off the ice Jones's whining and self-important attitude pollute the entire Blackhawks team. Worst of all he isn't going anywhere.
They need to come up with a more equitable way of picking teams for the Winter Classic. I’m not sure what the timeline is for making those choices, but it should be a bonus for the highest performing teams. Maybe a rematch between the previous seasons Stanley Cup finalists.
At least Foligno won the fight, we can take some pride in that 😅 if Blackhawks had a defence that was worth a dime, we'd be doing okay, probably mid table.
Yes, Braden Schenn accommodated him. He had no reason to fight, the Blues were smoking the Hawks. He just wanted to show some respect. He's a great captain! Schenn never fights, he's too busy setting up his teammates to score.
Turns out Schenn actually instigated the fight because in his words he “thought it would be fun to put on a show in front of the huge crowd” 😆😆 Gotta love the showmanship considering he got his ass beat
Absolutely lethal one-legged slapshot off of an awkward rebound for the Blackhawks’ first goal. It was a great effort to put one in for a team that really needed one in
It’s a consolation prize like Connor Bedard getting a secondary assist on a goal that doesn’t matter while getting blown out. I doubt Taylor Hall or anyone on the Blackhawks really cares about Hall getting a star of the game because they still got routed on home ice against their rivals.
I'm a Hawks fan and even I would've rather seen a better team play in this game. In fact I didn't watch the game at all even though I usually watch it as a neutral hockey fan. Garbage teams like the Hawks shouldn't be let anywhere near big events like these, because everyone involved loses
Only bit of joy for BlackHawk fans is that most will be home within the hour! Congratulations to the St Lois Blues on destroying the home team in this showcase match. The NHL draft seen to be working ever so well, Bedard enjoying his 2nd season every bit as much as his 1st ?
Did anyone go to this game? Where do you eat and how early do you get to outdoor games? like what’s the timeline to park and go inside and stuff? I’m going to stadium series game and was curious
It was because of ESPN and the college football games on the 1st. They originally had the WC schedules for the 1st but moved it because viewership on tv would’ve suffered.
Seriously, what was the Ducks general manager on when he decided to trade Cam Fowler? They had just acquired Jacob Trouba from the Rangers and it seemed like their defense core would get stabilized. But instead they made St. Louis look like bandits. They tank the season and get screwed on drafting Connor Bedard and later trade their long time defenseman. Ducks can't do anything right.
Bullshit. The Blackhawks are so much better than this. As a Bruins fan, I know exactly how good this team is because half of them have recently played in Boston. Hall and Bertuzzi are such great players. Maroon and Foligno are both very experienced players, and Foligno is a great leader and a great mentor for this young team. Not only do the Blackhawks have two of the best forwards in Bertuzzi and Hall, they have freaking Bedard and great goaltending. They are a few good defensemen away from being a playoff team. I have come to be a fan of the Blackhawks this year aside from my Bruins, and I want this team to have success!
Idk what the hawks have to do, anything besides what they have been it doesn’t seem like a lack of talent , I’m also no hockey expert!! Bedsy needs some help is all I know the kid skates around some of the best veterans, is one of the best assist eyes in the league, doesn’t help if his line mates aren’t getting in position to put shots on goal! Goal tending isn’t horrible in my opinion either the defense needs some work before they are a competitive team! Less penalties wouldn’t hurt either
One thing Bedard needs to learn to do is to get rid of the puck sooner as he holds onto it way too long in the offensive zone and with so little time and space at this level he wasn’t all that dangerous for most of the game and turned the puck over quite a bit in the offensive zone. But Bedard is young and will have plenty of time to adjust and get better at this level.
@ I agree 100%! His ability to hold the puck is a testament to his skills he just needs to start doing less stick handling, there will always be a time for those top ten plays but when you win one out of every 6 games it’s time to try something new!! His wrist shot is top 10 in the league his real weapon is putting the puck on teammates sticks!! I’m a bruins fan I also have enjoyed following Bedard, can’t deny he understands the game!! As you said in a couple years when he grows into his game he will have McDavid and Mathew’s numbers!!
Honestly, i just don’t like the winter classic, to many side shows, crowd so far away it sounds like there not interested in the game, camera angle is shaky and to far away. Its just not very exciting, but i also would rather watch a NFL playoff game than the Super Bowl. If i still watched the NFL. 😂

Congratulations to Cam Fowler with 2 goals in his 1,000 game
Blues have now put up 6 goals in each of their last two classics
Hearing the blues fans clear as day count the goals from TV was amazing. Wish I could have made it to this one!!
A ton of Blues fans at the game. Really good turnout. Underrated fanbase for sure
I heard that as well!!! Proud for my Blues. Also heard it during the anthem. And the home of the BLUES!!!!
It was. Special scene
Maybe now the league will learn their lesson and stop giving the Hawks outdoor games. Can’t wait to see them lose again next year…

Outdoor tanking folks, commanded by Seth Jones. The Blackhawks are going ALL IN for that 25.5% of odds

they're not tanking, they just actually suck! lol get used to it blahKAWKS fan
Jones just stood there and watched while the puck went right past him. Dude has no D. Pathetic.
Please stop putting Chicago in outdoor games. What was the marketing department thinking putting a basement team in this event?

It's all because Bedard - The most overrated player in NHL
Bettman had to showcase his baby Bedard for the world.
Davidson was suppose to have built a better team around Bedard by now... dudes completely incompetent
Was Bedard in this game? No factor.

Hilarious 🤣
I am so glad it isn't that 😂
Professional Pond Hockey. Love it.
maybe this should be the blues home ice, seemed like a completely different team out there.
This felt like a classic NHL outdoor game. Nothin like the winter classic. Should be the only outside event every year
Two highly skilled elite teams battling it out
that's a very generous description of Chicago this year...
