I have a genuine question, and I hope someone would answer because this was something I was not aware of, but was told this by an SDA person. Do all SDAs believe that Michael the Archangel and Jesus are one and the same? If yes, can someone explain why using scripture to support? Thanks!
I suggest to you that those who repeatedly turn away from God and grieve/reject the Spirit of the Lord, in essence, cut themselves off from God. The Spirit of the Lord will no longer plead for the person to turn from their wicked ways, repent and return to God (or they will no longer feel the Spirit of the Lord moving on their heart). By then, the person no longer cares about the Father, Jesus, the Spirit of the Lord, spiritual matters, or their soul salvation. Conversely, as long as a person still desires the Lord and cares about their soul salvation (seeking the Lord daily, obeying His commandments, and righteous living), all of which comes from the Spirit of the Lord, there is still hope. Jesus came to set the captive free from bondage to Satan and sin (Isa 14: 17; Isa 42: 7; Isa 61: 1; Luke 4: 18; John 8: 32, 36). The one who is FREE from sin has the law written in the heart (Heb 8: 10; 10: 16). That is the Law of Liberty. It represents freedom from sin. Obedience to Christ is freedom.
"The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; *but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish,* but that all should come to repentance." (2 Peter 3:4) (KJV) (Emphasis added.) (See also, Num. 14:18; Joel 2:13; Ps. 86:15; Ps. 103:8; Jonah 4:2) Praise God that He does not _immediately and permanently_ move on from us when we are disobedient and unwilling to do His will, and that the Spirit of the Lord continues to work with us in softening our hearts to lead us back to repentance and obedience to the Father's will. (See, Phil. 2:13)

How do you know when God has cut you off?
