Nanjing, abbreviate as Ning, the capital of Jiangsu province in China and the deputy provincial city of Jiangsu province, is the provincial political, economical and cultural center. As one of the four capitals of ancient China, As one of the Four Ancient Capitals, Nanjing is a vital cradle of Chinese civilization and over a long stretch of time, it has been the political and cultural pivot of South China, thus dubbed as the Capital of Ten Ancient Dynasties, rich in both cultural heritage and historical relics. It has produced a great many scientists, intellectuals & poets, and artists.
As the capital of Jiangsu province in China, Nanjing is a city full of vigor and opportunities. It is a window for you to get a glimpse of real China. Touring, studying and living here, you may find it changing and growing every day, you may find it a city with Chinese tradition as the background and full of many modern qualities, and you may feel the hospitality of the people here.
Nanjing is situated in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River, at 32°03’N and 118°47’E. It borders with the Yangtze River Delta to the east and the hilly areas of South Anhui to the west, adjacent to the water network of Taihu Lake in the south and the Jianghuai Plain in the north. With the 'golden waterway' Yangtze River flowing through the city, it is 380km from the Yangtze River’s estuary to the sea, and about 300km to Shanghai, the largest city of China (bullet train: about 1.5 hours).
The total area of Nanjing is 6598 square kilometers, including 4728 square kilometers as urban area, and its total population is 8. 2161 million (2014).
Nanjing is in the monsoon climate area of north subtropical zone. The four seasons are distinct here, with damp conditions seen throughout the year, very hot and muggy summers, cold and damp winters, and in between, spring and autumn are of reasonable length. Its annual average temperature is 14℃, and the annual average precipitation 1034 mm.
Nanjing has a prominent place in Chinese history and culture, having been the capital of China on several occasions. Located in the lower Yangtze River drainage basin and Yangtze River Delta economic zone, Nanjing has long been one of China's most important cities. It is the second-largest commercial center in the East China region after Shanghai and has been ranked seventh in the evaluation of “Cities with Strongest Comprehensive Strength” issued by the National Statistics Bureau.
In recent years, Nanjing has been developing its economy, commerce, industry, as well as city construction.
Meanwhile, Nanjing has long been a national center of education, research, transport networks, and tourism. There are more than 30 higher institutes in Nanjing city such as Nanjing University, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Nanjing Medical University etc..

From the point of view of an observer who comes from the "Western Hemisphere" where China is presented as a country where the citizens are denied everything that seems worth living in, one can only look in amazement at how happy, free and apparently quite worth living the life of the Chinese is, at least in the metropolises appears!
All I can say, Chinese, is that you can be proud of your country and of your leadership, even if there are certainly points of criticism and improvements. In countries that like to criticize your government like a high school teacher, they probably only do so out of stupid ignorance of how far you have come in the meantime. Your mix of bread and butter and stick seems to work much better for the majority of the population than in countries that have taken up the cause of maximum freedom for every citizen and are becoming entangled in increasingly inefficient processes. You Chinese walk on the better path.

Chinese here. It's honestly a trade-off. Ultimately it depends on what your values are.
China often gets portrayed as this crazy 1984 communist state and while the government DOES censor and manipulate news quite a lot, so does the US (think Fox News). Sure people in China may not have complete freedom of expression but they also don't have to worry about things like gun violence and mass-shootings.
At the same time, the Chinese government can get away with doing anything they want if they choose (like jailing oneof the biggest real-estate tycoons for life just for posting a negative comment about them on social media).
It's silly to say that one is more corrupt or problematic than the other because every country and political system has its flaws. Personally, I believe that you should live in a society with values you believe in and where you personally feel safe.

As someone that doesn't live in the USA nor China, but has been to many countries in the region, I can offer an unbiased view. China built a lot of cool things and elevated a lot of living standards. However, and you can't really argue with this, but, why is youtube blocked in China? Viet Nam also has a Communist government, but Viet Namese have less restrictions, for example, can watch youtube or use google. The entire top leadership of Viet Nam at the moment got their education in Moscow, most of them can even speak Russian to some degree, so I don't blame Communism itself like most people from USA like to do. China is just a very unique country in the world, let me put it that way.

Jiangsu is easily the most prosperous province in China, excluding Shanghai and Beijing municipalities and the two SARs (although Zheijiang does seems to be on a rapid rise to become one).
Also, Nanjing seems to be a rich cultural city. Aside of its well known bloody history under Japanese occupation, it's also one of the Four Ancient Capitals of China and seems to hold strong buddhism influence and heritage as well😍

@@thisiskevin1000 It's the richest by GDP per capita basis, followed by Fujian and Tianjin. Although certainly, I'm seeing renewed economic growth prospect for Zhejiang in the current time. I have no clear idea of what does the economic environment looks like in Shandong, but I think it should be following the same steps as Zhejiang
Guangdong, on the other hand, is transitioning into a developed economy driven by consumption and high-end supply chain base. So I think eventually, it can't keep maintaining this constant growth model for any longer.
Constant growth is a characteristic typical of developing country economy with lesser-developed productive force and mode of production e.g. the majority of ASEAN countries.
