I don't know why this makes me feel great! I wanna say WOW~~ Ep. 14 - Border Crossing from MEXICO to GUATEMALA 🇲🇽 with dogs. June, 2021! This is top class quality! Wonderful content~ 👍🏻 👀 👍🏻👍🏻
where did you get your health certificate for the dogs? at home in the USA before entering mexico, or in mexico? Also, we have a 3 year rabies vaccine on our dog from our vet in Canada, but our dog only hasthe DHPP vaccine , not the DHLPP , does our dog need to get the DHLPP before leaving Canada? or I guess the lepto vaccine? Will our Canadian rabies certificate be good for entering all the central american countries? Where should we get a health certificate? It's not required to enter mexico but it is required to enter Guatemala and some other countries on the way to Nicaragua. Do we need a new health certificate in each country along the way?
Hi! We got the health certificate in Mexico because we were there for 6 months so American one would expire. not sure about DHPP - gotta talk about it with a vet. We searched for the closest and best vet clinic near the border to get a health certificate. yes, Rabies vaccine from Canada is good everywhere in Central America. About New Health certificates for all the countries along the way - depends on how fast you travel. Usually health certificates are valid for 10-14 days (depends on country requirements) We got new Health certificates for each country except Nicaragua - we were there for couple days so the certificate was still valid for entering Costa - Rica. Almost all countries require a separate approval from Ministry of Agriculture, so me sure you have that!
@@SurfandTurfTravel thanks for the info. About the ministry of agriculture approval, is that something that needs to be done before each border ? would the vet issuing the health certificate know where we would need to go for that? how long does that typically take? should we expect to stay a few days in each border town to wait for certificate and approvals?
@@mikeha The vets usually know about all the requirments from the ministry of agriculture. It usually takes 1 day to get Health certificate done, might be the same day even. Agriculture approval, different for each country, Its took 2 hours to get it in Mexico ... but 10-14 days in Honduras. You might try to cross the border without it - but on your risk. We didn't have time to get the approval from Panamanian Ministry of Agriculture when we were crossing the border with Costa - Rica - they let us out anyway (they got the paperwork done at the border). Another time we crossed the border From Panama to Costa- Rica , forgot about one paper for dogs too - gave them 20$ and called it a day.
@@SurfandTurfTravel ok thanks, we'll see how it goes. 10-14 days in Honduras would be crazy seeing as we are going to cross the country in one day from El Salvador to Nicaragua. The dog would probably have never left the car between borders
