Yes! I've been searching for a video like this! Thank you. I ended up purchasing the retail version for 2021. If I like it, I might upgrade in 2022, but I just couldn't bring myself to splurge on the luxury/flagship planner without knowing if I'd like the daily layout. Also, it would be nice if Day Designer allowed for customization. For example, the range of hours on the daily page and whether or not they are in whole or half hour increments.
Yay! You are so welcome- I'm happy it's helpful, I love to watch flip throughs before I buy something for the first time, too. I like to know what I'm getting! That's exactly what I did- used the retail in 2019 and then I was sure I was ready to invest for 2020. Any planner you don't use is too expensive regardless of how much it cost. I so hope you love the planner as much as I do!
Great comparison! One feature I like about the retail version is the lined monthlies. Looks like the luxury version has unlined. I absolutely need lined monthlies to keep my handwriting neat. I love the Blue Sky planners that have them too.
Thank you for this review. I’m loving my DD daily planner from Target. However it’s the large version is way too bulky. Fortunately I primarily work remotely so I’m not carrying it back and forth to the office but it would still be nice to throw in my bag when I got to doctor’s appointments. With this in mind, I plan to get the flagship mini daily with the little notebooks to put in the pocket to make up for the lack of notes on the page. They come in a pack of four so as far as I’m concerned it’s a good deal. I more than likely will only use one-two per year..
@@horsewithnoname12345 I’m with you. After making this comment, I read/watched more reviews. I decided to get the 2021-2022 academic year flagship since it’s on sale. That way I can leave the crappy Target paper behind, keep the space that I’ve become too spoiled to give up on, and get to choose one of the new covers when they come out next summer. FedEx says it will be here by Monday. Can’t wait!
I use a retail Day Designer as well, and am switching to the luxury version for 2021. The absence of half hour times gives me a bit of heartburn. How do you indicate half hour appointments in your luxury version?
Haha, I can totally relate. It's a true planner aficionado who notices these things! I just write it in between the two hour marks and typically write the time as the start of the line item, like 11:30 John Smith Tour. Not ideal but I do think the other benefits make the difference for me. Thanks so much for watching and commenting! Have you picked out the cover that you want for 2021? I am thinking Artfully Abstract- you?
@@morningcoffeeplans3878 That makes sense 🙃 oh and yes! I was thinking either the classic black and white striped or the ticking stripe. I love so many of the options but am really a neutral girl at heart! If I get something too colorful I usually get tired of it quickly lol. Who am I???
Hey Bonnie! YES, I have! I bought one in 2018 and used it for a quarter when I had first started my new job and I did really like it. I liked that it was light and compact and easy to carry in my work bag. I had the navy one : ) I just bought the blush one- I couldn't resist how gorgeous it was!! I will be doing a review and flip through of the Today and To Do for my channel, so stay tuned!
@@kfisher008 Yes, the flagship/luxury paper is better. The luxury planner uses 100 GSM white paper and the retail version uses a lesser GSM (not sure of the exact number).
Every time I see the planners at target I think I can get one. I flip through all of them and pick one then I carry it around target flipping through it and I can’t get past the paper quality. It feels like newspaper to me and then I put it back 🙁 such a shame because they are cute planners.
I think you can put things in that section that are financial reminders: That you have a bill due, that you have to write a check, that's it pay day; things like that?

Always wonder the difference, ty so much. I'm sticking to target ddp
You are so welcome! There were definitely some things I liked better in the Target version. I hope you have a really happy holidays!
I started in 2019 with the target version, at the time it had the exact same stickers and ruler. Quickly switched to the flagship.

I have the mini flagship daily this year, switching to full size again for 2022.

@@momwifebookishlife Haha, yes, at least those styles are classic! They will age much better than the trendier styles : )
Thank you so much! Made my decision so easy!
Have you seen Day Designer Today & To Do undated planner. It's the quality of luxury with very similar layout to retail version.

This was so helpful!!! Thank you.
Is the paper quality the same between the two?
Definitely not!
@@jaysha5226 I take it the non retail paper is better?

Great question! Yes, there is. The luxury version paper is definitely thicker and smoother.

Hey what is the dollar section for?
