‘Atramentar!’ Skraivok called, his panic rising. ‘To me!’
If they heard, they could do nothing; they fought the Blood Angels Dreadnought still, their number reduced to three.
‘Night Lords! Help me!’
‘Listen to you,’ Raldoron said. ‘The masters of fear. You are cowards, like all cruel men.’
Skraivok: "Madness. This is madness."
Raldoron: "Madness? T H I S I S T E R R A!"
The Blood Angel finished his opponent and turned to face the Night Lord. Upon his left pauldron, his name was emblazoned across a scroll plate, just legible under rivulets of blood.
_‘Raldoron?’_ said Skraivok. *_‘The_*_ Raldoron?’_
He made a few passes with his sword, revelling in its lightness, in its killing edge.
_‘This will be a day to celebrate, the day I slew the hero of the Blood Angels!’_ He saluted, and declaimed pompously, _‘I am Gendor Skraivok, the Painted Count, Lord Commander of the Night Lords Legion, and I am your end.’_
The Blood Angel was unimpressed.
_‘Never heard of you,’_ he said, and came in to attack, his power sword buzzing.
This is why I’m so sad that Raldoron never even gets an official Cause of Death
Between the atramentar bodyguards and the reputation he was building, my guy really thought he was the best of his legion and good enough to challenge Raldoron. Unfortunately on this count he missed a key detail: he isn't Sevetar.
Raldoron really said "I don't even know who you are, low dif"

yeah I have a big soft spot for him. Just so....Human I guess. Like Raldy see's himself just as a soldier despite being RIGHT UP THERE.

One of my favorite fights of the Siege. I think only my Boi Siggy v Kharn 2 ranks higher.
I don't like that one so much, just cause Kharn gets bodied haha.
@Precognition so Kharn is basically the only living chaos space marine I actually like, so yeah, seeing him get owned is hard. However, I am a pretty big Siggy simp, so I feel it's justified after Kharn beat his ass earlier in the seige.

I loved this fight in the book was amazing
I just read The Lost and the Damn and Radolron ultimately decimating and trash talking the Painted Count was SO. SATISFYING.
Raldy is great cause he is so human for a SM. He kinda just sees himself as a soldier. But with Skraivok the avenging angel really came out.
@@Precognition40k this fight was double satisfying for mw bc I was expecting for the story to pull a rug under my feet and having Raldoron being killed by some kind of twist or bs move from Skraivok and I was legit worried but then it played straight and was so cathartic

When MF actually survived and the daemon appeared I was like "oh common!" But the the daemon pulled the rug under Skrai was the iceing on the cake
