Easiest tutorial for DIY no-sew, professional-looking Mickey ears that I've seen! Thanks for explaining well, sharing the template, and showing how to make a bow that won't "flop".
DIY Mickey Ears has become kindof an addiction for my daughter and I. LOL. Every time we go in hobby lobby we have to go check out the fabric section. Or just being in Hobby Lobby we will say... oh... this would make an awesome set of ears. LOL. So glad I'm not the only one that loves making ears! Great video!
I'm a photographer, and one of my good friends is also a photographer. I searched high and low for camera Minnie ears for her birthday...her mom lives in Orlando so they travel to Disney a lot. So I learned to make them with a camera fabric from Hobby Lobby and black pre-made sequin bow, black rickrack and black band, and I'm so pleased!!! I think she'll love them!
Amazing tutorial! And perfect for those of us who can’t sew very well. I just love your ear tutorials and other diy tutorials they always get me wanting to craft after I watch them lol And your such an inspiration for us crafters. I opened an ear shop not too long ago using your ear templates but sadly the shop just wasn’t working out so I just closed it recently. But your diys and videos are inspiring me to maybe give it another try💖 Thanks for being awesome! 😊💖 Love your channel! 😊💖
Thank you so much! Im always happy to encourage a fellow crafter 😂 im so sorry about your shop. I’ve been too afraid to even try. I totally thought I was going to but with the new baby and work it just wasn’t going to happen. I admire that you went for it! It’s so competitive now with how many shops are out there but maybe someday you can try again! Thank you for watching and commenting 💜💜💜
Aww thanks! 😊❤️ And you totally should open a shop someday your ears are amazing! 😊❤️ I would definitely buy ears from you for sure❤️And thanks I decided to go for it but it’s ok that it didn’t work out right now maybe in the future I’ll try it again. These are so beautiful! Great tutorial! I've watched this soo many times, I am FINALLY going to make them for my daughter! she is obsessed with Minnie mouse =)
My son will be 6 months on the 27th. I’m getting him a onsie that will “halfway to one” the o in one will be Mickey Mouse so I’m gonna make him little Mickey Mouse ears to go with it! Thanks for the tutorial! Super easy and can’t wait to make these for my baby
I'm going to attempt to use this video but instead of attaching to a headband, I'm going to try to attach it to a hat for my babies Halloween costume! Wish me luck 🎃☺️
Yes, but when you want to clean/wash the ears, do NOT use warm/hot water. It will melt the glue and make them come apart. It happened on a couple headbands of mine, not disney ones though.
i’m working on some pairs of ears for my upcoming disney trip, i followed your tutorial for the actual ears and the trim but when i’m trying to get the fabric on the headband i’m having issues with the hot glue. i’m also experiencing a large gap between the headband and the ears themselves. if you can give me some advice that would be greatly appreciated because i am struggling at this point 😂🥰
I hate covering headbands but I’ve seen it suggested to use double sided craft tape to attach the fabric and just hot glue it closed. If you send me picture on Instagram I can probably help more 😁
@@DreamItDIY i think i’m going to order the satin fabric headbands to make it a bit easier, the plastic is too slippery. is your instagram the same as your channel?!
So awesome! So say I wanted to make these for a guy, or anyone who wanted MICKEY and not Minnie ears, would the process be exactly the same just skip the bow? Like once the ears are created and glued on, that’s that for Mickey?
Love these! I don’t have a printer.. could you share what the approximate diameter of the circles are for the cardboard template? My guess is about 5 inches..?
Thank you! The ears are around 4 inches completed. In my experience between 3.5-4 inches looks the best. You can totally trace a candle or coffee mug with the right diameter. I hope that helps!
Mine have held up great. I’ve never been during the summer but I think they’d be fine unless it’s over a 100 and you’re in direct sun for like an hour maybe?
Of course! I’ve done a couple different type of bows on my channel including a plushie bow where I stuffed it with stuffing, and another where I filled it with Pom poms. As far as a normal bow you really only need to use the felt for fabric that is not “structured” so if it’s a nice cotton fabric is should hold up on its own. I hope that helps!
Thank you!!! With stores closed right now I don’t have access to felt, using the stuffing is a GREAT idea! Thanks again for such a great video - I’m off to make some ears :)
I see some ears with like silhouettes. Would I just use a glitter card for that? And hot glue on? I'm worried ill make it all and the glue won't hold up for my girls. Thanks in advance ☺
@@DreamItDIY I literally see this after posting 🤦♀️ i do have 1 more question tho. So I see you add little things to the center of bows. However I want to make a Harry Potter inspired one. And I'd like to make a lightening bolt to attach to the center of the bow. But I have no idea what I could use? Card I think would get destroyed in rain, and I think glitter foam wouldn't be any good with hot glue and will probably peel away 🤔 do you have any advice?
I would look into clay! Sculpy primo bake clay is ultra durable especially if you do a protective coat on top, then you could paint and glitter any color you want. I do have some ears with crayola model magic accents and they were fine all day in the parks BUT no torrential down pours happened 😅. I’ve also printed images and used thick packing tape to “laminate them” and that held up great too. Another option if you want to spend a little more is buying cheaper charm jewelry, and using those charms. Hobby lobby has an amazing selection.
I just use the same fabric I buy for the ears and hot glue it onto the hand-band. I show you how to in this tutorial ruclips.net/video/WNr6UJfc2Oc/видео.html Hope that helps!

So awesome! So say I wanted to make these for a guy, or anyone who wanted MICKEY and not Minnie ears, would the process be exactly the same just skip the bow? Like once the ears are created and glued on, that’s that for Mickey?
Yes! I think it’s all about the fabric and trim you choose but just leave off the bow and they’re totally Mickey 👍
when you make child sized ears do you use the same size 1" headband? I can't find any child size headbands.

Layering the inside of the headband with trim helps and a lot of people pin them in their hair.

I loooove that idea! I will absolutely add that to my todo list. Not sure when it would go up? Do you need it by a certain time?
