THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! for this tutorial and patterns. I was excited to find something that I can use with my Cricut Maker. I even went so far as to create a pattern for the headband wrap too. ;) (I was struggling to get that cut so it was easy to work with. HA HA) We leave in a week and these are going to be so much fun!!
thank you for the detailed video. I'm going to attempt to make my coworkers daughter some ears for her birthday. Now, I'm on the hunt for the rotary blade in stores since my Cricut Maker didn't come with that blade
you could also use piping and glue it to one side of the ear before adding the other half of the ear, it would provide a lower profile of the edge, although the braiding does accent the ears . TFS
Thank you SO SO SOOOO much for this video!! I've been making these for the last 2 yrs, and I used to use the poster board foam. Wasnt working well. I love your routine and the materials you are using. I will be updating my wars, thank you!!!
I dont mean to be so off topic but does anyone know of a method to get back into an Instagram account?? I was stupid lost my password. I would appreciate any assistance you can offer me!
@Reign Samir thanks for your reply. I got to the site thru google and im trying it out atm. I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
These are so amazing 🤩 I love them my daughter hates headbands bc she says they hurt so I have been trying to make these in a hair clip version and have been failing every time. Do you have any suggestions or possibly a video??
I don’t have a hair clip version but you could just order some hair clips and see which ones the ears fit on. I would just do that. Get like the plastic kind
Hi, thank you so much for this! I made my first pair and they turned out great! The only issue I’m having is they fall forward when I move my head. 😭Anything you can suggest I do to keep this from happening other than keep them in place with bobby pins? I don’t know if it’s the weight causing this.
The velvet ribbon helps with that but also make sure you are not making them super heavy. I have a pair that’s pretty heavy from the charm I used on the bow and they fall forward and my full rhinestone ears do the same because they are super heavy
Hi! Love the tutorial!!! I was trying to look for the template but I couldn’t find it? Is it still available? I would love to make some ears for our trip later this month
its cut three times and when it cut through it tended to lift the pieces a little bit so its easier and gave a much cleaner cut to just punch them out of the foam.
It works best with the maker due to the fact that it cuts fabrics better but it can be done with the explore but you’ll need to bond the fabrics. You can use wax paper or even transfer tape can work as a bonding agent
So informative! Thank you so much! I tried downloading the templates, but the fabric one said it was saved as "private" in design space and would not open....is there another way to download? Also, what width velvet ribbon did you use? 3/8??
This glue gun is made by ryobi. I got mine on Amazon. You probably already got the answer since this was a year ago. Lol 😆 just thought I'd share where I got mine.

I never have just cause it's there. Lol I'm sure it's there for a reason. Maybe to keep things from getting caught in it like your hair or clothing if you are looking over the machine?
Every time I use a glue gun my ears look awful because no matter how careful I am there’s stringy stuff etc that sticks to the fabric and won’t come off
Oh my gosh, this was one of the best videos!!! You did such an awesome job explaining things and made it so easy to understand. 🙌
I’m going to Disney this year for the first time in my life, and I’m a very crafty person; this really helped me create the ears I want to have!!
I just bought the Cricut Maker and I’m a huge Disney fan, I can’t wait to make these ears, great video!

Love your videos. I enjoy your positivity... always reassuring us that “it’s fine”. I giggle every time I watch one😊
Hahaha thank you! My friends always joke that could have my foot cut off and I'd say oh it's fine I'll just cricut a new one!
I know! The rotary blade is the bomb!

@@CorinneBlackstone Thank you!
Does it work for the cricut explorer 2
Wholly crap! Looks like you’ve exploded Mickey ears all over your craft room!😂
More like my entire house! LOL I am loving making these and I love how they are one of a kind!
What thickness of foam do you use?
2MM
Thank you for this video. The template for the ears wont work off my phone or ipad do we need to access it on a computer to load into design space?
Yes it will need to be accessed through a computer
What type of foam do you use? Is it just the craft foam that you would buy at Michaels?
It's called eva foam. It's used in cosplay. Joann fabrics sells it
@@CorinneBlackstone What width do you use?
@@tracyjones2117 it comes in a big poster board sized sheet
@@CorinneBlackstone What is the mm that you use?
@@tracyjones2117 2 mm
My maker did not come with the rotary thing I had to buy it separate
Great tutorial! Can this be used for bear ears too?
I don’t see why not. They are the same shape :)
What size is the felt ribbon you use for the under lining of the headband?
1/4 inch it’s velvet
Thank you so much!!!! Love your videos
@@michellebarrios3227 you’re welcome! Check joann Christmas clearance ribbon. Thats where I always find it
Please teach me how to make Mickey ears inspired the Disney villain Dr. Facilier with a top hat?

Yes go to Corinneblackstone.com and sign up with the website totally free. Then it’s under member area free svgs
Do you happen to have a tutorial on how to do the birthday cupcake ears?
@@beccable08 no. I just cut a cupcake SVG out of felt
These came out soooooo beautiful. Thank you for sharing. BTW what is a minky fabric could I ask at joanns for that name?
It’s called minky they will know what you are looking for
Awesome thank you
Where do you find those gems you put on your bow?
I got them at Joanns It was these exact ones go.magik.ly/ml/ugha/
what is the final size for the one with the square?
It’s all in the templates
Can the air 2 cut fabric?
Bonded fabric yes :)
Dumb question..could this work with faux leather sheets
Yes absolutely they are a little harder to get to lay flat on the edges but it can be done :)
Where do you get your EVA foam?
And will 2mm craft foam not work since we are doubling it?
If you cut twice, will it cut thru?
its cut three times and when it cut through it tended to lift the pieces a little bit so its easier and gave a much cleaner cut to just punch them out of the foam.
how thick is your foam
About 1.5 mm
Can I do this with my cricut air?
The air requires a bonded fabric meaning you need stiffer fabric but yes it can be done
@@CorinneBlackstone thank you!
This is for Cricut Maker only?
It works best with the maker due to the fact that it cuts fabrics better but it can be done with the explore but you’ll need to bond the fabrics. You can use wax paper or even transfer tape can work as a bonding agent

I have no idea why its saying private but I will check on it today. no one else has had the issue.

Why do we have to put our credit card in for the template. If it’s free it makes no sense
You don’t. Sounds like you clicked on an add and not the actual download template.
Am I the only one who took the plastic cover of their rotary blade? Still works fine just wondering?

Get a better glue or glue gun. Mine leaves strings sometimes but not so bad I can't remove them.
