Hi everyone! I'm an American from the Northeast (New England). I want to create a watering hole for people who want to discuss, learn and teach about history through RUclips videos which you guys recommend to me through the comment section or over on Discord. Let's be respectful but, just as importantly, not be afraid to question any and everything about historical records in order to give us the most accurate representation of the history of our species and of our planet!
Having a diverse perspective is crucial to what I want to achieve here so please don't hold back! I want to learn about all I can! Keep recommending and PLEAESE join my Discord :) ( / discord )

That has to be the first time you’ve almost watched a whole vlog with a big grin and speechless 😂
I loved the few silent pauses in the video. It was almost like; "please let me just catch my breath a moment."
Aww, I am so happy to see this. My mother and Danny's father Peter grew up together in a place called Dunvegan in Skye. Every summer holiday we would play on our bikes outside the Dunvegan hotel. Danny and his sister were fearless even then. We used to ride bikes on the main road with our eyes closed or something over our heads. I lost so many bets and cans of coke to you, Daniel!
If you are ever in the isle of skye go to the giant MacAskill Museum it's about Danny's great grandfather as the story goes he was so tall the rocks he threw made the mountain ridge that is in this video. A cool wee local story for you.
Love the videos 💕
Danny Macaskills "Imaginate" & "Wee day out" are well worth checking out, very creative with a bigger focus on the tricks (as opposed to the awesome scenery) 👌
Beware of the humble crofter, Ian Blackford.
At 7.07 "oh s*it I forgot to tie up the boat". Fantastic video.
Big fan of Danny, Stunning scenery but it shows about 20% of Danny's skill set, if you want to see a great range of tricks and insane drops try the red bull rampage
Sweaty palms time - and I'm sitting in front of the computer... (o:
I `ve loved Danny Macaskill since seeing `Industrial Revolutions` 10 years ago .
Glad you found, him through multiple channels he has great videos. His own, Red Bull and production companies.
Please watch all of dannys videos.. all of them are epic
You REALLY NEED to check out some of his urban riding. OUTSTANDING SKILLS.
All I can say is Wow. Fantastic. Great post.
As a 'munro bagger' myself (someone who is aiming to climb all 282 munros - the mountains in Scotland 3,000ft+ in alititude) I can tell you that the Cuillin can be narrow and challenging even for folk just walking and scrambling/climbing.
To cycle across the ridge is just another thing entirely 😅😅
Mountains along the ridge have names like the 'Inaccessible Pinnacle' and 'Am Basteir' (gaelic for 'The Executioner').
Doing the Inaccessible Pinnacle, un-roped last year was bad enough, but carrying a bike up it!! no thanks.....
The first time I've seen you speechless Conner.
I'm from Scotland and the start of the vid with the music always gives me goosebumps
Got to say mate I really like the varied content of your videos just watched the one did on the Channel Tunnel, then I'm watching a guy on top of mountain on the Isle of sky ,wow he was something else, use to do a lot years ago in the Derbyshire Peak District ,but he was way beyond my skill Level, keep em coming Great 👍
Danny is just on anther level! I feel so many emotions just watching! I wish i could do that while also not.
Love this man! I'm long time fan of Danny. He's really cool
Danny is a 'kin legend. I associate him more with BMX parkour stuff, this is the first time I've seen him on a mountain bike, and to put cream on the tart, I was lucky enough to walk this ridge many years ago at night using moonlight whilst I was serving in the British Army. it remains one of the highlights of my life.
I can't get enough of Danny. Think I alone have contributed to a good proportion of the 7 million views! But that scenery .... on a sunny day, Skye is well up there with some of the most awesomely beautiful places on this planet.
Great reaction.
mine is the climbing documentaries and movies, its not psycho though just an admiration of the fanaticism it takes to do stuff at the edge
yep he didnt tie his boat, he sits wondering how he gets home
The man has no fear, you should def check our more of his stuff.
1:57 "Did you tie your boat down?" . . . . . . . . . . . . 6:56 (No)
Was at the opposite end of the island.
@@EarthlyEden1 Just a joke.
Admittedly this looks impressive on camera which is partly why he did it. I've walked along most of the ridge and if you want to feel close to nature up there I would suggest you don't take a large piece of machinery with you, especially one you have to carry or push on some of the steep uphill sections. I cycle but cannot see how cycling on the hills is superior to walking on them.
I camped there last year: Glenbrittle. Decided not to walk the ridge due to suffering from Long Covid and cowardice. His route to get there was only marginally rougher than the actual road.
I picked the parts for this bike when I work for SCB.
I did that once. Well...When I say I did it, I fell off my Bike in the first five seconds and broke my leg. That was as I was leaving my house. OK! I made that up but it could have happened.
20 years ago that would have needed a production crew and a helicopter and it probably would have won a tv production award. now its just some lad with a hobby shop bought drone.
More tricks and impressive stuff when he’s riding the hard tail.
Check out his urban stuff........ 😁
Danny is amazing! Also check out Fabio Wibmer's 'Fabiolous Escape 2'.
I have the same bike, cant ride like Danny though.
Hey Conner watch Alex Honnond the filming of what if he falls?
It's crazy but I like it
As someone who doesn't do heights, I had to turn off lol
I remember when Danny used to fix my bike #mcdonaldcyclesedinburgh
pre liked as this man is God :) please check out his first vid.. Industrial Revelations, i think
This is possibly his worst and tamest video, have a look at : Inspired Bicycles Danny MacAskill April 2009.
Come with me for a wee ride in God's own country.
