She does hear it in a different way by feeling the music. I know this because my uncle, dad, and myself are hard of hearing. To feel the music I cannot explain it but I used to be a dancer and to feel the music is great. Furthermore, now I play my native American Indian drums and etc. But I do see your point she does have a great and beautiful voice, and she signs which is great and seems to read lips which is great, but now is very difficult and frustratiing in this times of wearing masks on our moth because we cannot read lips when they are covered.

Mandy Harvey is an amazing singer. And to have developed a way to feel her music through her feet to feel the best of her instruments is a human technology in itself. I'm happy to see her success is shining like a beautiful star in the making. Mandy is an inspiration to all those with impaired hearing.
I wish Simon C. would be her agent. Plus, the fact, which most people don't know, is in her contract with AGI she made them put in the contract or would not go on the show unless the judges and others would not know she was/is deaf before getting on the show because she wanted to be judged only for her music. If they didn't put it in her contract with AGT she would not, so when you watch her audition not until she went before them none of the judges and etc. knew she was deaf. You have to admire that.
I like her message, but i imagine a shattered ankle for a dancer is profound, but her song says keep moving on ....an sometimes that's better than torturing yourself....
She can read music and wrote the song herself so she can hear it in her head she just has never heard her own voice sing it physically. Crazy, huh? When I heard her speak at a conference, she mentioned that she gets a kick out of people saying she sounds like this or that artist in tone quality, but she has never heard their voices either so she is truly her own sound. She doesn’t get influenced by other artist’s styles because she can’t hear them anyway so she can’t compare herself to them.
Mandy has stated elsewhere that she sings for others to enjoy and be encouraged, no matter how difficult life may seem to be. Mandy says that she does not sing for herself.
