AH! I love Mandy! She's just so inspiring! When I first saw her audition video for AGT where she sang "Try," it really hit home for me. I got emotional because I felt like I was in the same place as she was when she gave up. At the time I was going through depression. It was depression from a broken heart and it had affected everything in my life. Things in my life weren't going the way I wanted them to, or the way I thought they would. I wasn't excited about anything I used to be excited about anymore. In a sense, I had given up. I was just in this place where I was moping around the house, feeling purposeless, feeling hopeless, feeling like I had lost my way, and I didn't know what to do with my life. And something about her, about her story, the words of the song really spoke to me in that situation. It reminded me that I should try, that I shouldn't give up on trying. Today, I’m still working through my issues, but I’m in a better place than I was at the time. It’s a process, but emotional healing is always a process. Instead of moping around doing nothing, I am a student, working on earning my bachelors degree. I know I’m not 100% right now, emotionally. But that’s okay, I’ll get there in time. My heart is in God’s hands. He’s healing me. I can feel it. So, I’ll get there. I trust Him. He knows what He’s doing. Something else you and Mandy were discussing was the idea of taking a leap of faith and trusting God. That really spoke to me. It reminded me of what God told the Israelites just before they were to go into the Promised Land. This scripture always reminds me to take courage, trust God and follow Him, even when I’m scared. “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

I am legally blind and have one leg and after watching her do America's Got Talent it just blows my mind to see someone do something so great and then it just make me so happy to see it someone do so well

Mandy is such an inspiration, amazing story! It was nice to welcome her with signing but I wish the pastor didn't discourage the audience to clap - Mandy is able to sense the noise. The audience clearly wanted to clap during the interview and they should have had since Mandy didn't see them signing. It's good to be aware of people's special needs but we don't need to over adjust our behaviour.
