In this tribute, I explore Thor's character and what he has lost. I don't think any character has lost as much as him, though. Just to give a small list of who he has lost..

But more importantly, he blames himself for Thanos's victory. He chose to miss his head so he could have vengeance. And because of that, he lost his dignity, confidence, and self-respect the will to carry on. - he stopped believing in himself. I think the lesson everyone can take away from Thor's depression is that you are still worthy as a human, no matter how much you put yourself down.
Although Thor didn't have as conclusive as an ending as Captain America or Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth gave so much personality to this character. I'm excited to see what Thor: Love and Thunder (Thor 4) holds.

I think my favorite scene of Thor in the MCU is beheading Thanos. Thor realizing he could not fix his biggest mistake was so powerful so early on in the movie.

My favorite scene is probably the bridge scene from Ragnarok or "BRING ME THANOS" from Infinity War, we all have our own opinions though

My favorite Thor moment is when he lifts Mjolnir in Endgame. After so many of his loved ones die, he feels as if it is his own fault for not saving them. After Thanos snapped, Thor blamed himself for the destruction of half the universe’s population. He feels as if he has failed, but after talking to his mother, he realizes he should not blame himself for something he could not prevent, and when he holds Mjolnir, it helps him see that no matter how many times he has failed, no matter how many of his loved ones died, he is still worthy, and that makes that scene so much more important than it seems.

Also worth mentioning: In this scene he got his mother's support, but Mjolnir was given to him by Odin. So through the hammer still acknowleding him as worthy, he also gets his father's support indirectly. Thor's parents do not view him as a failure and that was what he needed to bounce back.

Thor is stronger not because he is a god or anything about his powers. He is strong because he carried so much pain but still fight to carry on.

@@sladewilson6348 pretty sure they won't kill him off as he might not use mjolnir anymore but storm breaker is new so it is very involved in the storyline therefore Thor is too vital to the MCU to kill off

This is the only Thor Tribute that has made him justice. Everyone is just laughing about how his character turn into a comedy part of the films, but God, he is one of those who most has suffered. Thank you, you are worthy.
Agreed. This video seems to actually take a look at the crucial developments to character (notably in Endgame) instead of making it all a laughing stock.
Not to mention in Norse mythology, Thor was always bit of a clumsy one that could be made fun of. I mean, he crossdressed to get his hammer back from giants.
Thor and loki's story are the most beautiful thing in the whole mcu. They loved each other so much but didn't want to admit it.

Thor will always be my favorite character in the MCU, he inspires me to keep going even after I've lost everything.
Too bad MCU will replace him in thor 4, with shitty SJW Jane Foster which character we didn't have emotional attachment to

When he said that (I'm still worthy) in the movie, people started to laugh because they taught it was comedy... I almost started to cry because I remembered all things that Thor lost and his face of happiness when he finds out that he still is worthy of the mjolnir really broke my heart.... He will always be worthy

EXACTLY! Also when he beheads Thanos, and says “I went for the head...” the people in the my theatre started laughing. But me & my mates, were just startled. Honestly you can hear his pain through his voice. Brilliant acting from Hemsworth.

Honestly his ark is undefeated. They could have easily left him in his overpowered state of IW but in perfect fashion, they only give us glimpses of his greatness. Thor 1, depowered when he stood against the destroyer, thor 2, ready to lay down his life for love, ragnarok, awakens and becomes a true king, infinity war, the greatest entrance in cinematic history, endgame, a broken soul, and yet, “i’m still worthy”. Goosebumps and tears of joy everytime.
When u think about it, only Thor lost literally everything, but still fights for humanity and justice. That’s who a real hero is and I’m happy his story didn’t end yet.

@@_Noluv honestly the serious, Shakespearean tone is what made thor 1 and 2 bad. He was boring, and just not as fun or interesting to watch than all the other characters. Hes like the Male captain marvel; dim, boring, and just a pain to watch. But adding the comedic side of him in ragnarok bumped him up in my books because how he actually fits in with the tone of the MCU. Idk anything about his personality in the comics, but having a comedic side sure made him a better character imo

Yeah everyone just laughs in that scene, because "Oh look Thor fat LOL XD", but the genuine trauma and sadness he showed when Hulk triggered him by talking about Thanos was amazing acting from Chris Hemsworth.

@@anthonyortiz3142 I'll be honest, I also laughed at that line. But it wasn't because it was super funny, but rather a laugh of shock. I was in the same boat as Thor there. Everything was lost and revenge was empty.
the whole movie have been thanos just going through the avengers. So seeing thor get Storm Breaker and hearing him say " Bring me Thanos" in the theater was great.

I particularly loved the angry and anxious Thor of Infinity War. I was going through a tough phase where I was angry with people in my life.
Watching Infinity War, Thor showed that rage and anger can be a strong motivational factor when used properly. His forging of Stormbreaker proved it.

Everyone laugh at Thor when Thor cut Thanos' head and said “I've gone for the head” in Endgame. That's actually pretty sad scene when you think of it

That line pierces the heart. It’s such a revelation to him that he’s been bound to his hammer more than his strength. Once he sees he is The God of Thunder, it’s a reckoning. And I love that scene when Loki just grins like a little brother that was being pushed around and he sees his big brother coming to the rescue.

Thor Odinson, suffering from PTSD, trying his hardest to save his mother; and when she refuses and Rocket and Thor are about to leave Asgard, the smile he has when he says "I'm still worthy", that scene touched me.

The reason they're my favorite is because they have lost literally everything in their life, they could easilly be depressed and suicidal, but instead they choose to fight on and refuse to give up, that's the true strength. Also Natasha and Tony, they're one of my favorites too, both did a sacrifice to save the universe

My favorite scene is when his voice starts breaking when banner talks to him about “who killed thanos”, him realizing that even when he’s dead, the pain of him losing everyone he loved and the guilt knowing that he could of stopped the snap, but when he talks to his mother and is able to call upon mjolnir and have it fly to him, he realized that he is truly worthy and that nothing can stop that.

Watching Mjölnir come to Thor and hearing “I’m still Worthy” in Endgame was the most impactful moment that any movie as had on me. I spent just shy of 5 years in the Army as a Ranger in the 75th. During that time I was a physical specimen and had purpose. Then I got hurt and got out of the military. My mental and physical health declined rapidly, I grew my hair out and got fat. I was even called “Thor who let himself go” long before Endgame came out. Then Thor came on screen in endgame fat and I knew I was gonna get roasted for it. I was at the midnight showing trying to enjoy a movie that I knew I would love but was struggling because I knew the fat Thor jokes and memes were gonna roast me alive.
I’m still worthy.
When I tell you that I absolutely cried my eyes out in the theater, I was bailing. I had gone from elite to nothing in my mind and with Thor being my favorite character long before endgame to making him something I couldn’t relate to more if I tried, then giving him the redemption that not only him but also I needed spoke volumes. I know I’m not the only vet who as related to Thor because of endgame so I really wish I could thank the Russo brothers and Chris Hemsworth personally for the impact they’ve made on my life.
