@@ci7210 Brio would be interesting to look into. He's implied to be the most talented of the scientists who made most of their inventions, but he's a total pushover as a character, they just use him. He wants revenge, he's the end link of the chain of abuse that Cortex and Tropy and all the other wannabe bad guys under Uka are on. It's just whether Brio could pull it off.
maybe instead of cortex betraying crash and the crew and going back in time , maybe the n.tropies might get away in the first bossfight and have a second bossfight as the last bossfight where they actually get defeated

Like slow down your movement/speed up his attacks to catch you off guard, shoot a spesific pattern off bullets and then reverse their movements so they all go backwards and stuff. Maybe even briefly stop time completely. It could really help spice up his fights.
The whole section where Crash is riding along a purple grind rail while collecting Bumpa berries for that amazing meme while hearing voices of other characters has the most epic music ever!! The rest of the music in this section is terrific.

My one big grip, despite the quote “you mongrels do as a pack.” Only Crash/Coco does the fight and not the entire party. Seriously, this boss really needs some major tuneups despite the more greater stakes such as adding Dingo, Cortex and Tawna helping.
Damn. Toys for Bob went all out with this game and the soundtrack. Also when I hear this music and see/play this level it’s like this is the final crash game for me. All of your time getting wumpa fruit and gems have leaded up to this moment. There’s no going back.
The grinding part is by far one of the coolest things I've ever seen. Crash grinding through the distorted fabric of time and space, fractions of the dimensions floating by and the echoes of his friends and enemies in the past. Oooooooo it's too cool!
The echoing kinda reminded me of the acid trip mission from GTA 5. "Aaaaaaarrrrrggggghhhhhh JIMMY!!!!! What do you want Michael?? I always thought I was the good guy"
I believe its because N Tropy was the main villain of the game was more of a major threat than Cortex; he was the final boss, but his motivations and goals seemed more personal than N Tropy wanting to wipe all of existence off the map. Theres no telling what would happen if Crash was never born, but better than an absolute with N Tropy becoming a god among all creation.
Even before this game, if we’re being honest, Tropy has always seemed the bigger threat compared to Cortex. And GOOD FREAKING LORD did they sell that xD I just got done with this fight myself

I'm taking a break from it right now because I streamed for 5 whole hours on my twitch yesterday and felt burn out setting in as a result, but I've never been the type to shy away from a challenge like this game presents, a challenge this series hasn't given me in YEARS XD And since it's a game Ive invested so much time in already and been looking forward to, I owe it to myself as a fan to do EVERYTHING in it: BAcktracking for gems I missed through lack of experience with the levels, trying to no death for the Flashback tapes, tackling the N.Verted levels, daring myself to bash in those time relic records, this game has a lot that I've enjoyed as a kid and more that I've come to appreciate as an adult. The way the difficulty ramps up as you get further into the game is video game design 101. If you have an easy time with this game at all, it ain't gonna be the first run, that's for sure. This is game design dating back years. But if we're talking about the bosses? These aren't Crash Bandicoot bosses. These are a STEP UP. XD With the OG games, the strength has always lied in the level design of every level, while the bosses tended to mostly be mediocre up till Crash 3; more like gratified roadblocks. This game takes that...and just YEETS it off of a cliff into a quality blender. Every single boss in this game on my every first attempt up till the Tropy's has killed me not even just once. They did their jobs. XD That's not including every single level, most of which weren't too hard in design or familiar ground from the demo, and a lot of that is down to my Crash fanatic ass trying to go for all the crates and gems; dying to respawn back before I missed one, or just failing to make a jump I wasn't as lined up with as I thought. And if much of this sounds like utter boosh, the first moment I turned on the game, I did something that absolutely affected my experience. An exact suicide note of difficulty spike. *I turned off the Drop Shadow.* So this whole first run, I've had no form of jump assistance whatsoever, having to rely on my own perception. And from that choice at the start to now, I've been a giddy mess at testing that perception with many of these jumps, and it made me really realize just how integral that shadow is to this game design, because I swear to god, I wound up either over-shooting jumps or undershooting them, or messing up my angle entire. No drop shadow is Crash Bandicoot 4 not on hard mode, but if we had to name it anyway, *N.SANITY* difficulty. And I must be a freakin mad man because I'm in the snack dimension and up till that level, I have loved every waking second of it. XD Every single death, every single success, every single nook and cranny that I have subsequently learned about as a result of those deaths, and just overall being able to risk EVERYTHING on every platforming challenge this game throws at me. If ever this game makes me rage, it's from bullshit. And that, I can safely say, hasn't happened. XD As a veteran of the OG games, I can safely say, this was worth the wait. And while I'm not done with the game yet, and I have no knowledge of what's coming up next with these levels, I'm gonna savor every second. XD
Honestly the level of epic in much of this almost reminds me of what you'd get from a Ratchet and Clank soundtrack, that sense of scale mixed with classic Crash instrumentation makes for a truly epic boss theme.
SPOILERS!! It's Crazy to think that this version of N. Tropy managed to kill Crash,Coco and Aku Aku (and its implied that she also betrayed Cortex and Uka Uka) in an alternate version of the events of Warped.
I don't know if the masks exist in different dimensions, Aku-Aku and Lani-Loli seem to know each other, so I think the masks are unique so FemTropy probably killed Crash and Coco (and possibly Cortex) because Aku Aku wasn't there to protect them
@@freshcurry9208 The boss really should have had at least twice the length. In general I think the Crash bosses are just too short, they added a checkpoint to every time you clear one phase of a fight, might as well have gone all out and made some epic fights out of N. Tropy and Cortex.
RatchetBeyond It wasn’t even our version of N. Tropy who killed Crash & Coco it was female N. Tropy who killed an alternate reality version of Crash & Coco. Regular N.Tropy has yet to do that, so he’s no greater threat then Dr. Neo Cortex or Uka Uka!
Man, the setup for this fight was better than the fight itself, I wish it had been longer and had more battle phases rather than just two hitpoints. Like, we got a Brio boss that was almost a copy paste of the original, I wouldn't have minded that for the Tropies but like double the difficulty. Oh well, at least the music's amazing.
If we ever get another multiverse/time travel etc themed Crash game, I think another grind through dimensions scene would be filled with possibilities... just imagine Crash quickly grinding through short scenes of now un-canon Crash games set in a different universe/dimension... like seeing scenes from Wrath of Cortex, Twinsanity, the "Crash of the Titans verse" etc I also hope they make N.Tropy the TRUE main villain this time! A proper badass threat!
That would be a really cool idea. Imagine if they had some of the villains from those games come back for a title as assistants to the big bad? Crash of the Titans Nina, Tiny, and N. Gin (since they're so different from the main versions); Dark Crash and (the albeit cut) Coco from Twinsanity; and Crunch from Wrath of Cortex.
That's what my dumbass expected from Crash 4 after hearing so much stuff about the plot... and we actually got some glimpses of that! I just hope a future game plays with the concept in more ambitious ways, there's a lot of meta stuff they could do.

@@Nocturn_All The Tawna/Pinstripe thing was something that was coined by Sony Japan and was used in a manga adaption of Crash 2 (which seemed to be a financial failure considering it only got two chapters, and was Japan only anyway). I don't know if the original devs ever talked about it.

They even created fake Crash and bunch of stupid TV shows. But this game completely eliminated every Crash game since Crash Bandicoot Warped (like Coco said). I both love and don't like this boss at the same time. On one hand, I absolutely love how it's set up like a final boss and IS a good fight. On the other hand it feels weird to sideline the main threat so early. I think what annoyed me most was the time mask talking about some monster at the end of time and that we totally could have had that as the final threat. Sequel material maybe?

Sarah Yes I have. It’s one of my favorite video game series - Final Fantasy crossed with Walt Disney. I was just saying if this was done in a movie - that’s all. Imagine the epic scale of this sequence in a movie. Both this game and Kingdom Hearts have created so many epic moments, and this is one of them! 🤩🤩🤩
The grinding section is the coolest thing tbh, seeing all those levels to reminisce your adventure really hit me different. This game's understandably not fun for some fans but I wish the OST and moments like this weren't so overlooked.
I think what hurts the OST in particular is the sound mixing, the music is QUIET in-game, you can barely hear the melody, let alone all the little nuances the make the tracks work. Rumble had a similar issue though they fixed it recently, meaning I largely know Crash 4's OST from the remixes Rumble uses.
Man when crash grinds on the reality rails we show the dimension that crash and coco visited on there travels which are (n sanity island)(the hazardous wastes)(salty wharf)(tranquility falls)(mosquito marsh )(the 11th dimension)(eggipus dimension)(and the snaxx dimension which crash and his friends haven't been there yet.
Shame how this fight ends so quickly Would have been more interesting to have fight take place inside Rift Generator Room with other playable characters
There was to be an extra phase inside the generator room, thought the concept art implies it was still meant to be as Crash. Weird really considering all the 'teamwork' emphasis, you'd think that setup would at least have been considered.

As he should be. Best boss in the series. Kinda wish he was the final boss in this game! Even in Crash 3 I felt more intimidated by him than any other boss. Lol.
It's always kinda been a thing with N Tropy though, since Warped, he puts on a menacing front but the moment things go wrong he screws up and gets defeated prematurely. He got his chance in N Tranced as well but then slowly cracked when he realised he'd made a vital error. The only difference in 4 is that he doesn't throw a big whopping tantrum. XD Cortex is a "loser" but completely used to that bullshit by now, so can make contingency plans, while N Tropy just can't DEAL with being such a grand villain that gets humiliated by the goofy bandicoot. :P
I think this WOULD be the final boss narratively, N tropy was trying to kill literally everyone who ever lived and WILL live, Cortex was essentially an epilogue fight.
I like the idea of it being sort of a Starscream type scenario where female N Tropy likely killed her bandicoots by fluke or accident and is now trying to exagerrate it for bad guy cred. There's actually bigger armies of bandicoots each time she tells the story. XD
In the game both tawna and Female N.trophy have a much more realistic face )for lack of a better term). And seeing as they are both from the same dimension it makes you wonder what the other characters looked like in her world

2:09 when the bass from his warped theme just drops like that into the melody for this song I just about lost it in happiness.
To me that part crystalize how Cortex may be dangerous for Crash and the workd, N. Tropy is a danger for the whole multiverse.

@@freshcurry9208 The boss really should have had at least twice the length. In general I think the Crash bosses are just too short, they added a checkpoint to every time you clear one phase of a fight, might as well have gone all out and made some epic fights out of N. Tropy and Cortex.
RatchetBeyond It wasn’t even our version of N. Tropy who killed Crash & Coco it was female N. Tropy who killed an alternate reality version of Crash & Coco. Regular N.Tropy has yet to do that, so he’s no greater threat then Dr. Neo Cortex or Uka Uka!

Man, the setup for this fight was better than the fight itself, I wish it had been longer and had more battle phases rather than just two hitpoints.
Like, we got a Brio boss that was almost a copy paste of the original, I wouldn't have minded that for the Tropies but like double the difficulty.
Oh well, at least the music's amazing.
I do hope there's a mashup of this track and the original N. Tropy boss theme in the future.
If we ever get another multiverse/time travel etc themed Crash game, I think another grind through dimensions scene would be filled with possibilities... just imagine Crash quickly grinding through short scenes of now un-canon Crash games set in a different universe/dimension... like seeing scenes from Wrath of Cortex, Twinsanity, the "Crash of the Titans verse" etc
I also hope they make N.Tropy the TRUE main villain this time! A proper badass threat!
That would be a really cool idea. Imagine if they had some of the villains from those games come back for a title as assistants to the big bad? Crash of the Titans Nina, Tiny, and N. Gin (since they're so different from the main versions); Dark Crash and (the albeit cut) Coco from Twinsanity; and Crunch from Wrath of Cortex.
That's what my dumbass expected from Crash 4 after hearing so much stuff about the plot... and we actually got some glimpses of that! I just hope a future game plays with the concept in more ambitious ways, there's a lot of meta stuff they could do.

Thanks to a Reddit post, I just realized that the level's name might have a double meaning.
Of course, it refers to the literal holes that Tropy is tearing through space, but it might also just refer as N. Tropy himself as an "a-hole in space" xD

@@Nocturn_All The Tawna/Pinstripe thing was something that was coined by Sony Japan and was used in a manga adaption of Crash 2 (which seemed to be a financial failure considering it only got two chapters, and was Japan only anyway). I don't know if the original devs ever talked about it.
@@Nocturn_All Yes, the thing with Tawna and Pinstripe is a damn Japanese thing (not confirmed excuse for why Tawna doesn’t appear in other games). Crash is in Japan like a GOD. They even created fake Crash and bunch of stupid TV shows. But this game completely eliminated every Crash game

I both love and don't like this boss at the same time. On one hand, I absolutely love how it's set up like a final boss and IS a good fight. On the other hand it feels weird to sideline the main threat so early. I think what annoyed me most was the time mask talking about some monster at the end of time and that we totally could have had that as the final threat. Sequel material maybe?
Uka Uka and Cortex are now at the end of time. Tropy was perhaps a red herring in that regard.

The grinding section is the coolest thing tbh, seeing all those levels to reminisce your adventure really hit me different. This game's understandably not fun for some fans but I wish the OST and moments like this weren't so overlooked.
I think what hurts the OST in particular is the sound mixing, the music is QUIET in-game, you can barely hear the melody, let alone all the little nuances the make the tracks work. Rumble had a similar issue though they fixed it recently, meaning I largely know Crash 4's OST from the remixes Rumble uses.

Man when crash grinds on the reality rails we show the dimension that crash and coco visited on there travels which are (n sanity island)(the hazardous wastes)(salty wharf)(tranquility falls)(mosquito marsh )(the 11th dimension)(eggipus dimension)(and the snaxx dimension which crash and his friends haven't been there yet.

There was to be an extra phase inside the generator room, thought the concept art implies it was still meant to be as Crash. Weird really considering all the 'teamwork' emphasis, you'd think that setup would at least have been considered.

It's always kinda been a thing with N Tropy though, since Warped, he puts on a menacing front but the moment things go wrong he screws up and gets defeated prematurely. He got his chance in N Tranced as well but then slowly cracked when he realised he'd made a vital error. The only difference in 4 is that he doesn't throw a big whopping tantrum. XD
Cortex is a "loser" but completely used to that bullshit by now, so can make contingency plans, while N Tropy just can't DEAL with being such a grand villain that gets humiliated by the goofy bandicoot. :P

It's actually funny that female NTropy killed them, but being allied with male Ntropy made her more disorganized and fail killing them
I like the idea of it being sort of a Starscream type scenario where female N Tropy likely killed her bandicoots by fluke or accident and is now trying to exagerrate it for bad guy cred. There's actually bigger armies of bandicoots each time she tells the story. XD
In the game both tawna and Female N.trophy have a much more realistic face )for lack of a better term). And seeing as they are both from the same dimension it makes you wonder what the other characters looked like in her world
