I'm actually impressing that they were able to convert a 332MB CD game made for a 32-bit console to a simple 8-bit portable console with 667 KByte. I feel that companies in the past were more ambitious, they went to the limit to see the game running on as many platforms as possible, we had as an example Oddworld, Street Fighter Alpha and Alone in the dark: New Nightmare on the Game Boy Color and we almost had a full port of Resident Evil for the Game Boy, it is incredible to see a game made for much more powerful hardware running on a simple portable console with the capacity of an NES. The maximum we see this today is some ports for Nintendo Switch.

The Dreamcast version was excellent, the PC version was only a little better because the lights on the cars actually worked and the textures a little crisper. That's it. I don't know if I count Day/Night mode a feature because it was meant to be played at night imo
Dreamcast has amazing sound quality thanks to it's dedicated Yamaha sound processor and dedicated RAM, was capable of some really awesome stuff that the competition consoles didn't come close too, 64 simultaneous audio channels, MIDI support, 3D environment effects , DSP for reverb, chorus and other musical effects. It was the last console to have proper real sound effects and high sound quality. PC's had EAX built into most titles up until the late naughties but now we have just generic Dolby Digital sound (or DTS in some cases), Sony says they are bringing custom high-end sound quality back to games with the PS5 but that remains to be seen, we will see I guess. I still use EAX for some of my fave classic PC titles and it still sounds phenomenal, Max Payne 2 for instance with its hardware driven multi positional audio sounds incredible and lends so much atmosphere to the game that just can not be matched by generic Dolby Digital surround sound, it's such a shame that video game sound is so neglected now days.

My childhood memories of GTA2 PC version: running trough the town farting, stealing the ICE truck just to hear the fancy melody, stealing expensive cars to bring it to the junk press. I loved it 😅😅
So basically to sum it up: - The Game Boy Color version is impressive in terms of how they could port a 32-Bit game to an 8-Bit machine and make it work, but I won't play that one. - The PS1 version is the worse of the "original" versions: bad graphics, limited radio stations, no trains, no buses, less missions and power-ups - The PC version is the best, having the better graphics, the day/night option and the most amount of gameplay. - The Dreamcast version is great, has the best sound by far, shame radio stations resets eveytime you get in a car. There are also quite a few bugs here and there.

Comparing the PS1 version with PC, contrary what some people said, i think the PS1 version is still very good, since it has some unique aspects, but the PC version is still a bit better. PS1 version pros: -Bigger ui -Some levels or missions were slighty changed for the better. Some missions on PC were hard as hell, and it seems that in PS1 were a bit easier with a much less kill counter, also in the second district you start with a car crusher close to the save point, and it really saves you a lot of time instead of randomly search around the city. -Loading times have cool images -Minigames unlocks much more easier PS1 Negatives: -Loading times -No multiplayer -No voices (this hurts me a lot) -You cannot choose the time of the day -Worst framerate -Worst graphics -There´s much less things on the map: Cars, people, powerups and weapons. While the powerups and weapons are still present in the game (i already check it out with the car crusher), it ends up being useless since this powerups last like 30 seconds, contrary to PC where they placed it at strategic points. Weapons like the Rocket Launcher, Electrogun and Flamethrower were almost non existent and if you dont use the car crusher you could complete the game without finding any one. -There´s a few glitches: Sometimes the swat trucks dont appear in 4 heads, when you load the game the GTA points collected just returns to its original places and sometimes the game freezes when you want to save the game

Its definitely true. Very obvious that Switch can handle GTA V after seeing big open world games like Yooka Laylee, Saints Row The Third (a last gen 3d open world game gta-like at 1080p) and recently The Witcher 3 which is probably the most impressive port on the system, so there's no excuse for not a Switch port of gta.
The Switch can handle GTA5 no doubt (story mode at least), but I think the reason why they aren't porting it is because the battery life in handheld mode would drain so fast. Or it could be because GTAO has a casino where you can use real money and that might be a big no for Nintendo
