    I'm in the progress of building my module

    Good idea for those who have limited space for their layout. You can build the modules separately to connect together and get the spacing right for track.. Unfortunately, at $60 USD per kit, you still need the Woodland Scenics products to finish the hills, water, grass paint, trees bushes....so module now gets very expensive.

    Nice product, but $60?

    Why doesn't Kato make a track that's the same length of a T-Trak module in the U.S.?

    • @KatoUSAinc
      @KatoUSAinc  2 года назад

      It isn't necessary. T-Trak is already designed to fit Kato's track specifications and using multiple track pieces allows the inclusion of feeders, crossovers, turnouts, etc...

    Do you make long straight kits

  • @colbymclellan131

    You can build a single module with 4 pieces of scrap wood and a piece of 3/4 inch foam board. If you have a table saw, miter saw, planer, drill, and some glue you can build like 5 modules in an hour for really cheap. People are crazy to spend 60$ on a few pieces of foam when all you need is some very basic tools.

      You certainly can. But not everybody has a miter saw and a table saw which are considerably more than $60, and the advantage of this is that you can shape it into more realistic terrain shapes very easily rather than the standard flat box. There's upsides to both ways and we just want to make T-Trak accessible to as many people as possible regardless of tool or skill level.

      I wouldn't say a table saw, miter, saw, and planer are basic tools. If even you bought ones at harbor freight, its going to be probably $400. Plus wood glue, screws, cost of wood and other material. Now buying tools is always an investment 👌 but these are good for apartment dwellers who don't have the room for tools and even if they did, all thst cutting wood piss off the neighbors lol
      Now yes, MSRP is a bit high but real world price is around mid $40.

    Hi Alex and Leon, Just to jog your memory a little, we met a few years ago at Esther's Hobby Shop in Millvale, PA. Unfortunately I was not able to view the live stream as I was at work during the filming. Although the video is a little long, it is filled with some great information. On a side note, has Kato USA given any further thought to my suggestions made during that visit to Esther's Hobby Shop. I know you probably get tons of requests, so let me refresh your memory. My questions and/or suggestions were; Will Kato USA rerun the N scale GP50 with a new frame that would accept a plug-n-play DCC decoder? And possibly offer the GP50 in a high short hood version in the Southern Railway tuxedo scheme? Second suggestion was for a N scale U28B that had the U25B carbody but the U28B sloped low short hood? Thank you Kato USA for continuing to raise the bar on quality N scale products. Cheers, Rich S.

      Rich,
      Unfortunately a return to the GP50 is pretty unlikely, but we appreciate both of your suggestions.

    can you use a double crossover track with t-trak?

    • @colbymclellan131
      @colbymclellan131 3 года назад +1

      If you wire it a certain way yes, but because the standards have the power going in the opposite direction for each track it is a pain. It is very hard to do on a single module but it could probably be done on a double or triple

    Sorry but I can only handle 20 to 30 minutes. You have some good information but it gets boring about 10 minutes in and I have other things to do.
