split screen is cool, now the comp was not fair, tires, tires , tires, price$$$, stock ,over built, I loved the way you did this show,, very cool, and hope to see more,,
Thanks! Definitely not fair, lol. Just wanted to show what you get for the money. There will be a rematch but still keeping the Redcat low budget. I kinda want the underdog to win.
I put the losi mini t 2 springs on my redcat ascent. Reds in the front and orange in the back plus pulled out the limit springs in the front and I might do the same in the rear. Made a huge difference
On my redcat No inner springs with 2 hair bands per side on the front shocks and 35 weight losi shock oil link riser on the rear. Injora blue silicones and scrubbedin stock tires. 57/43 front to back works well for me.
I explained at the start of the video that the VRD had the Ruptures w Antifoams during the test because that was the more expensive setup and the point of the video was high dollar vs low dollar. I completely understand that the Redcat would’ve done much better with the same tire setup. My goal is to see if I can match the VRD performance on the lowest budget. I’ve since found cheap Tusk clones that should put the Redcat neck n neck with the VRD. If there’s a decently warm day coming up maybe I’ll do a rematch.
Liked the comparison between the 2 rigs and split screen. However besides other upgrades on the VRD i feel for a direct comparison you should at least use the same rims/tire and inserts combo. We all know these can make a lot of difference. Now it leaves the “how would it have been if” … question open
I can def do that for round two just to prove how much tires matter. I wanted to keep the Redcat as cheap as possible though. I’m now running Tusk clones with a cheap dual stage and I think they’re as good as the Ruptures/antifoam so it’s going to be a much closer battle. Also, the VRD now has a fusion.
The inserts on the VRD are having too much rebound for the bump on that climb Btw. an almost stock VRD has won the WRCCA Euro Crawl 2024 in Performance Scale Class last Sunday😊
This split screen is great not having to go back and watch again and again
Thanks! I will definitely do this again for the next round. It’s difficult to edit but I learned a lot for the next time.
Def like the split screen, I don't know why more people don't use this!
It can be a nightmare to film and edit. Lol
I learned a lot doing this one so next time should be easier.

Nice work on putting that together! Looks like a fun spot. I like the split screen view, too. 👍
Thanks, it was a fun test. Going to do a rematch soon
Cool spot, great video, great comparison.
Great video !!!!! Thank you for your advice as I'm a "noob" ................. LOL 🙂
Great the way you are doing this video an thank you for sharing
Thank you

Nice! Good to know. Maybe I’ll give it a try
I def like it better without the internal springs.

Nice, there will be more tuning and a rematch in the future
I noticed you switched tires, the one the VRD using the RedCat started out with them...not fair

I’m starting to think old school dual stage foams are still the best.
