I think it’s because why play as this character when you have so many more iconic characters to play.
I've been playing Reindog since the release of Multiversus 2.0 and I've just met 1 Reindog since the beginning in 1V1! :(

I mained reindog ever since his Costumes were easy to get in the beta and he's way better than people think, I use him as 100% non stop attacker and it's hilarious when I own meta characters like Wonder woman with freaking Reindog
NGL, Reindog should have been a free character at launch. Us beta players have most of the roster and are mains, but Reindog should have been a beginner-friendly mage like Shaggy is a BF bruiser.
If you're saving up that fighter currency, are you gonna buy some random OC or a beloved character like Batman or WW at the same price?
Pair that with perks being taken away, he is really boring to play. Bugs and Joker have way more tools as a mage compared to spitball, fireball, or the crystal that breaks in one hit compared to like Steven's watermelon that eats damage before being destroyed.
Try using Reindog as a non stop attacker he's way better than you think also I think its hilarious when I beat meta characters like wonder woman with a crazy offensive reindog
Also the floating Crystal becomes way more useful with the perk that it follows you, it intrupts them while you're getting combo then you punish them, its also a good way to see how good they are, with good players destroying it Immediately and bad players let you set it up freely
Marvin being highly underrated. Marvin destroys the meta of this game in twos. Great tools to beat all the top tier characters except black Adam.

I’ve spent at least a little bit of time with most of the roster across beta and relaunch, and at least for my tastes, I genuinely believe that he is hands-down the funnest character in the game.
I think the fact that the character is not as popular as the more mainstream characters in the cast is amplified greatly by how difficult it is to get a character now due to the greedy mobile game style monetization. In the beta he was played a lot more, but it was also a lot easier to get the characters, especially since you could just buy a founder's pack and get them all. Now it's $50 for 6,000 Gleamium, or $100 for 12,500 Gleamium, which only affords 6 characters or 12 character respectively at 1,000 Gleamium each. Out of a roster of 26, with Shaggy being free, it costs 25,000 Gleamium to get the rest of the cast, which is $200, compared to the $39.99 it used to cost to get everyone in the beta.
Considering most people wanting to play the game are going to do so because they want a specific character or two in the roster, the odds of anyone that's not returning from the beta even owning Reindog to use him at any point in the near future is exceedingly low.
tl;dr: Nobody is using Reindog because he's not even an option for them at character select.
I'm so glad I unlocked most of the characters during the beta I would fucking hate having to unlock everybody with this new grind system
@@mikehurt3290 Yeah, I have everyone unlocked already due to my purchase of the Founder's Pack and fulfilling the battle passes of the beta. For me it would be fine to only have 1-2 characters early on, because I like to play fighting games by completely focusing on 1-2 characters anyway, but when I see that the Rifts require certain characters and even skins, as well as events like the one running now that can only advance by leveling up characters, it looks super scummy because they are locking standard account progression behind the expensive character and cosmetic purchases.
PFG should've made Reindog available from the start alongside Shaggy. No offense to the character himself, but I'm not going to grind hours of rifts and matches to get an OC who I have next to no attachment to in a sea of recognizable faces who have been around for decades longer.
It might sound harsh to say that but it's true. No joke he'll probably be the last character I'll unlock unless PFG either did make that change or provide a much easier and quicker way to unlock fighters because those long grinds to get just one new fighter is a major reason why I'll probably not go for Reindog right away.
In the beta his costumes were easy to get that's why I started maining him but new player have no reason too even though he's stronger than people think
In my opinion Reindog is the best character of Multiversus Terms of his Lore and Gameplay. Most Characters as of right now I have no interres besides Gremlins, Iron Giant and Jason.
First I talk his Design.
His Design looks very cool and uniek. This dog is mixed with a Chines Dragon and a Deer and I love it so much. He is also very fluffy and I want him as a pet🥰😭. He looks freaking adorable.
His Lore is ok. That he was a member of the Guardians of Zanifeer and his home world got destroyed by the Nothing.
So not much info but a very good story for a uniek character of the game.
Now gameplay wise:
At day 1(Beta) I like Reindog and I play him everyday because his moveset was to fun to play. I am useing him as a bruiser or mage not a support. My man has lots of projectiles attacks and that is why I like him.
He is juist a simple character to play (not simpler as Shaggy or Wonder Woman) but also fun.

And he is a 165 years dog and still he looks Fluffy 😭🥰

compared to the beta this character is literally trash, I was a top 100 reindog
I have almost 400 hours into reindog at this point (100 from this new release) and he is the only character I want to play currently but he is hardcore lacking in kill power and his moves have insanely high recovery. I'm just sitting around waiting for him to finally get looked at by PFG... but I don't think he has ever been a priority for them tbh.
Thank you for making this video btw, I hope it makes it into PFG's hands so they can understand Reindog needs some love.

I came back to Reindog today. He's a little bit better than he was in the beta with the new dash attack and cooldown downspecial. His frames, damages and combos are very similar. I feel like his neutral has too much whiff while being not so powerful but I manage to get hits with it. He doesn't kill but has a lot of fast buttons that give him a lot of reset options and it's easy to deal damage with him with pokes and fast jabs. If you don't play against cheese characters, he feels strong.
I gotten good at keep attacking even if I wiff because nobody ever expects it and if you time it right you'll catch them with the final hits of your combo when they're trying to attack thinking they're gonna punish you instead you punish them
he was significantly better in the beta
@foxypotato3094 they buffed some of his kit in the full release but yeah the real crime was over nerfing his projectile game... that's what made him good and interesting and fun to play - now it feels awkward and sluggish

@foxypotato3094 up air was actually always very inconsistent and they tried patching it like multiple times but it didnt get much better - his up air is still pretty inconsistent. And when you consider everyone else in the roster's up attacks, his isn't super special

I have almost 300 wins with Reindog, the secret is using the floating crystal that follows perk, it intrupts them while you're getting combo then you can punish them, his dash attack is deadly and his tailwhip is one of the best edge guard moves in the game

I was a top 100 Raindog main in the open beta, But ever since the full release of MultiVersus I can tell that Raindog doesn't feel or play even remotely similar to how he I would play him in the beta, Sadly I just don't find playing Raindog fun anymore.

I still chalk a lot of reindogs fall off to the removal/tweaking of many perks, my S/O and I were a harley reindog duo we hit Platinum together in 2s during beta. We had some cheesy flammable and gray health tech that made a lot of fights a breeze and the off stage/reckless playstyle we had was really solid! Eventually they tweaked and nerfed some perks so we swaped to a new style that revolved around isolating one teammate freezing them with the Cold perk and going for vertical K.Os all while Reindog would put up a horizontal bullet hell esque barrier! it was a ton of fun and we never thought a plat fighter could be played in such unique ways. I can't quite pinpoint the issues reindog has in 2s now because at the core most of the moveset is still there and they operate fine. My S/O chalked it up to the game speed, lack of perks, Projectiles being much slower than they recall, and a handful of nerfs to helpful loops that he absolutely needed to stay viable! I'm waiting until the next season and more play time to see what fixes/changes are needed to make reindog just a bit better in higher level play
Honestly, I thought reindog was pretty fun when the game fully released. The sair was awesome to combo with since it knocked opponents into the ground, so you could do chains like sair -> sair -> side special to drag people off the stage and kill them at like 90. Unfortunately, they decided to changed the sair to make it pop opponents directly up instead... leading to a new jab loop which they quickly removed :)))))))))). This character was a mid tier at best btw, since most top tiers destroyed him (anyone with a slide kick move). Doesn't help that Steven is an 20/80 MU as well, since he walls you off from approaching and punishes you for camping him with the growing watermelon (reminds me way too much of Steve from SSBU). At least aerial down special is still op, since you can checkmate most characters who try to camp the ledge (down special to edgeguard and then cover a dodge with a dair, side special, or even another down special... my favorite against Brawlhalla players who think they can outplay you by playing the ledge game better).

I bought reindog and he came up in the ne t 3 matches back to back. I feel like matchmaking is fucked up. I constantly fight the same char back to back except they get harder until I lose
Ima Superman main , Raigndog 2nd since bata and I agree he was stronger in 1v1s in the bata but now he’s ONLY strong in 2s. In 2s RainDog is usable
I've completed the entire battlepass, and only seen velma/reindog like 2-3 times each online.

just got my ass whooped by a reindog and i’m pissed. never been against a good reindog, and never thought he was that good.
Banana guy is also not played as much as the others.
I used to play reindog in the beta the reasons why I stopped is he was nerfed and nerfed several times indirectly… his K.O power is terrible his projectiles are slow and short range and his floating gem has a huge warning before each shot. Indirectly they took make it reindog perk out the screen is more zoomed in so the gem can’t go as high has next to no hit priority and slow af…. Batman and harlequin have better projectiles and their not even mages
I think people would just rather play a more well known character.

Tbf, the reason I have him is because I grabbed everyone back in the beta. I'm not sure I'd get him as my first pick.

@@mikehurt3290 Difference of opinion I suppose. I also wasn't aggressive at all with him, I played him like Pikachu in the beta but his neutral projectiles are too slow now so it just doesn't feel right.
I honestly feel like they over nerfed the projectiles in this game from the beta. Like anyone that was a character that provides coverage with multiple projectiles was just nerfed to a nearly unplayable state, save for a few.
Honestly I don't even use his projectiles, I use him as pure non stop attacker you be surprised how good of a physical attacker he is

@@mikehurt3290 Maybe im just not that good then cause its a struggle when im constantly playing against Harley, Bugs Bunny, Wonder women just to name a few broken characters. I still win most of my games I just have to really lock in all the time. But I think that is one of the main problems with Multiverse they nerf certain characters but buff/don't nerf others ones leading to an imbalance.

I don't understand why Reindog is the one being hated so much by people. He comes from Multiversus himself. Doesn't that make him kinda unique. I just got done playing as multiversus and I beat bugs 2 times with Reindog. I won like 3 or 4 marches as Reindog. Also I don't like the voice they gave him.

Imo, Reindog is a super waste of roster space. Too many warner brother ips to be making fucking original chars that no one wants.
I just find the character strange and kinda irrelevant in the grand scheme of this game.

He is but I unlocked his Halloween costume during the beta and he looks wayyyyyy better with it
