My aunt and I would like to thank you as this tutorial was very helpful for us as we accidently hit the factory reset option. The demonstration of installing the new wiring was the light bulb for us as we were not sure in the app which alphabets we need to choose for wiring. It truly helped is think outside the box to successfully get it set up again as we reside in Virginia.
An important caution. On newer homes you may find that the thermometer wires may not be fastened to a stud, and if you are not careful they will drop into the wall. This is a pain to resolve and most likely will require opening the wall. Lesson. Clamp the wire before you do much.
*Works great: **Fastly.Cool** and Warming environment perfectly controlled. I use 3 in different grow tents. It’s nice to see from your phone how your tent temps are. Does High and Low and records data.*
I purchased 2 of these units probably 6+ months ago now, and they are really good units. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxcr5WULFU6yC9UUKc_cdNJT9jGa6VxO1l They are great for 3d printer plastic dry boxes, freezers, vehicles, gun safes, and more. The unit in the picture was pulled from my deep freezer and moved into my truck center console (monitoring humidity for water leak). It took a few hours to thaw and normalize temp and humidity reading going from those extremes, as expected, but it handled it well and is still running great.
Thanks for this video. I just installed it today. It was very easy because I watched this. It's working well. I really appreciate you for posting this video. 👍🏻👍🏻
yes 'C' wire is recommended for the extra power it needs to clear that error that is showing up plus for motion sensing and other features to work like wifi , remote controlling etc.
my c wire was tucked away in the wall. I went to the attic where my ac heating unit was and found the panel and noticed the c wire was not connected. a quick google search showed me how to connect it.
What is the green wire for and why do we not connect that one. I had this thermostat installed by my BF, he did connect the green wire. My heat work fine but no cool air. Would the green wire being connected cause this to happen?
Does the app let you enable certain wires that might not actually be connected? I'm trying to build a demo system using nest to control my minisplits. I just need nest to think I have central HVAC.
I am replacing my Honeywell thermostat which has 6 wire hookup, one wire is white, green, orange, blue, yellow, and red, what wire goes into the *OB wire slot on the google nest smart thermostat???
You had 4 wires but only connected 3. From many post and my own experience, the Nest system is problematic. Columbia gas is selling them for $10 just to get rid of them.
What a really terrific disappointing video I came to see how to connect the C wire which is totally important and absolutely necessary and running the nest thermostat without it is absolutely useless guys. You were so technically perfect until you told me at the end of the video we didn’t connect the C wire cause we didn’t have on!e stupid how stupid!

Bought this nest, nest says to use google home. Google home said to use nest app, downloaded nest app and nest said to use google home.

Thank you for your thourogh explanation regarding the installation.
So glad it was helpful. I hope it made your job easier. Thanks so much for watching.
This was super helpful. Thank you!

You didn’t say anything about the power adapter scenario?
What happen with G wire ? Also I think you need to connect the C wire no ?

Great video. Better than anything Google put out !
Thank you good instructions
Great video man! Thank you!
You didn't connect the jumper wires back. My setup is exactly that. It's a gas furnace with only heating. Will this thermostat work?
Did you end up getting it to work?
if i connect the c wire for power do I need to keep the batteries in the nest?
Yes, unfortunately you have to keep the batteries installed. Even with our C wire connected, we still have to change the batteries every few months.
I am replacing my Honeywell thermostat which has 6 wire hookup, one wire is white, green, orange, blue, yellow, and red, what wire goes into the *OB wire slot on the google nest smart thermostat???
Orange wire
Is this only for heating
No, if you have an air conditioner in your home it will also provide cooling capabilities.
@@TechTalkvideocan i combine 2 old seperate(heat/cold) thermostats to 1 nest
Where do I put my AUX wire
You missed the ground wire, why?
well done

$10?! How can I get me a couple of these?

How to take off the device after been installed on the wall
Lol i have a Honeywell, wires are red, yellow, white, green, brown.. never see brown listed
I expected to see a completed installation with common wire that works 👎🏻
Make a video on how to remove from wall
never identifies what each wire is for, not everyone has the same colour wires as you have!
He put blue wire in yellow slot
My nest thermostat screen does not come on upon approaching it I cannot figure it out why is this
need 'C' wire if not installed for extra bit of power for features like Motion sensing , wifi etc.
You do not have the wires correct🤥
Things is a piece of crap. Won't to connect to wifi when I literally have 5 google devices connected to the same network
Did you ever get it figured out?
I had to run mine on 5G, not sure what the problem was, if there were too many devices. Once I connected it to 5G it worked.

It’s junk nice way to get money spent foolishly
It's clearly not, don't be sad.
No volume, can't hear what they are saying.
