good evening! I had understand today that your issue is very correct! I wrote about this issue here the other day. I deleted the previous comment to study this issue myself. You are completely right. FA skipped even when the writing pressure was light. When the ink on the pen feed was exhausted, it was not possible to replenish it in time, and slow speed writing was aloso skipped. Thank you for your valuable video👍 I'm sorry, at first I was skeptical of the FNF feed. However, replacing it completely solved the problem.
This helped tremendously this evening when I replaced my 912 feed with an ebonite. Thank you!

That was very helpful. This pen definitely needs the feed from the Flexible Nib Factory. I will make sure to order one of that. Thank you for the video!
I recently purchased a Heritage 912 and had the same issues with ink flow, skipping. So annoying! Disappointing , especially spending this much on a pen! I installed the 3 slit ebonite this morning and testing now. Seems to be flowing ink without skips. I did buy the 2 slit and though ink flow looks the same on paper as the 3 slit, I still had slit skipping. So back to the 3 slit.
Maybe trh remaining hard starts are a baby's bottom issues? Sadly seems common with Soft and FA nibs with pilot :( a nib meister will fix it! How's it been doing after?
That's crazy. I had slightly similar problems with mine but only with excessively quick flexing and ordered the same feed but actually wrote too wet. I then switched back to my original feed (after thoroughly cleaning it with soapy water) and the problem was completely gone though it was nowhere near as bad as what I'm seeing here. I suspect that you might be experiencing what I did which is likely just leftover oils from the manufacturing process. The feed issue is almost completely tied to flexing for spencerian writting where it uses much more ink than was originally intended.
This comment saved my pen. I cleaned the original feed in soapy water then put it back in my 912 instead of the ebonite feed that I was still getting hard stops with. Now it writes every time. Cleaning the feed was a brilliant idea. Thank you!! Now if I want it to write even wetter I'll wash the ebonite feed and change it back, but I really don't have to.
I’m really impressed that you were able to research and then source a custom/replacement part not made by Pilot-and so fast! 😲✨ But...I don’t like their service accommodation, ESPECIALLY on a known issue/design fault like this. I can infer they have a “contact the retailer only”; like they are only wholesale; it’s the business model. But how is that suitable with the current world marketplace/shipping interruption, restrictions, etc. related to the pandemic. They need more flexibility to answer the customer’s needs in dealing with what sounds like is a their-fault issue, too. Still, great job, Angeliz!!! 👏👏👏
awwww thank you beribunny💕 I total agree! They know this issue and why they not fix and sell? when I received email from pilot I was little disappointed also... oh well I fix the problem and enjoy this pen very well 💕
See who the nearest pen specialist is maybe, but wow that is a big disappointment. Papa Bear always gets the right gift, eh? I am behind on some of your videos but when I saw the pen I made time to watch! Lol!thanks for sharing!
thank you Marsh💕 I really glad fix the problem but I really think pilot needs fix this bugs. after I change feed very smooth writing very fun to write💕
I am sure you know that pilot explain the problem say😅no that this FA Pen is design for the japanese ideogram wich required constant up and down so pumping more ink. It is the reason it is not sold out of japan. western calligraphy is a long run so the problem. if you send your new feed to japanese they will have overflow problem writing japanese…
That´s what I thought when buying the pen last week (now I´m waiting the delivery). And I will be using it mainly for Japanese calligraphy so I do hope I won´t meet any of these mentioned problems. (I´m not sure about my technical skill to replace the feeder myself) 🙂
Isn’t that a sign of what the pen guys call “baby’s bottom” it needs to be filed by a pen specialist....I am not sure but I watch lots of videos on fountain pen.
what is that "baby bottom" I didn't know so I did searched it hehe I checked nib point but it was perfect♪ I learned new fountain pen word! thank you Anji♪
Be careful people the Flexible Nib Company does not as yet have a feed suitable for the Pilot Custom 742 with FA nib . It is coming however. Just not yet .
HAHA YES!!!
"FLEXIBLE NIB FACTORY" saves the day!!!

Thank you for comment♪ I glad FA nib user helped this video! I really hoping PILOT fix this problem very soon! this is pretty bad issues!
The feed is a good idea, and it appears that using and refilling carts instead of the converter is a better idea as well.
This helped tremendously this evening when I replaced my 912 feed with an ebonite. Thank you!

glad to hear♪ Enjoy your new pen🖋

May I know which ink you use?

Do you have a link to the feeder where I could buy it? Thanks

Also, I did not remove the oring from my factory feed and install it on the ebonite feed. So far no problems I think.

after the feed change I really enjoy writing with this pen! this pen is soooo fun to use💕 but wish pilot fix this problem and sell this amazing pen😅
What ink are you using?
It was Sailor Ink Studio 723.
That is wonderful!
But I'm disappointed on your behalf that more money had to be spent to get the pen working as desired.
