To me, Porsche's smoking habit represents his old life, one that was carefree and away from the mafia but also one without Kinn. Seeing him want to quit smoking makes me think that he wants to quit his old life, both the playboy approach he had and the comparative safety he had. He is turning toward a new life, as he says: one with Kinn but also one with extreme dangers.
This episode was so wholesome! I mean, that smile that Kinn has throughout the episode should be ILLEGAL. I totally get what you said, people have been waiting a long ass time for series like this (and Addicted/Heroin, the golden standard of course). I still remember watching the trailer and teaser again and again for months on end, just waiting for it. I'm so totally up for the next ep, things are gonna get craaaaaazy!!! Again.

I loved everything about this episode INCLUDING Tawan. It gives both Kinn and Porsche a chance to acknowledge that in order to move on, Kinn must be more honest and tell the whole truth to keep Porsche around. Porsche already made it plain in the last episode that he loves him HOWEVER he won't allow his love to be taken for granted. A few things....another long one you've been warned. 1. I think at this point Kim might think his father had something to do with covering up how Porsche's parents died. And that he may feel guilty about it. Which is something Kim has never seen from his father. While he threw out there that one or both of them might be his half brother, I'm not sure he really believes that. It just might have been a passing thought in his head that he spoke out loud. He knows at this point that Porschay doesn't have any information about what is going on. I also think he knows that Porsche is being used by his father for some reason. Right now he's grasping at straws to figure it all out. Which might be why he threw out there that Porsche might be his half brother. 2. I really need an explanation as to why Porsche is so afraid of ghosts because it's almost an irrational fear. My theory is that something really bad happened when he was very young, and to get him to not talk about it his parents (his mother in particular) told him it was ghosts. I have a feeling Porsche's father is somehow connected to Mr. Korn. Remember Mr. Korn told Kinn when Kinn came back and couldn't convince Porsche to be his bodyguard (no matter how much money he offered Porsche) that a man who can't be bought is good to have around. Maybe Porsche's father couldn't be bought and that's why he's dead. Maybe the mother being killed was collateral damage as Porsche was also in the "car" when it happened. 3. Tawan just all of a sudden comes back from the "dead" right after Kinn is happy with someone else. I feel Vegas' slimy finger prints all over this. Let's think about this for a second. Vegas is obsessed with Porsche. And that obsession is born from wanting to beat Kinn at everything. He couldn't be the first to put his stamp on Porsche (i.e. he didn't get to r@pe him because Kinn interrupted him in episode 4) and last episode he was interrupted again when he tried to seduce Porsche. I bet he knows they are together now and I also bet he saved Tawan as a trump card to mess with Kinn. Vegas seems to always have a plan. I feel that whatever his plan is with Tawan somehow doesn't go the way he thought it would and that's when he resorts to doing whatever he does with Pete. We've seen that while clearly Pete has a crush on/fascination with Vegas, Vegas hasn't paid too much attention to Pete. He hasn't had any use for Pete because Pete is primarily Khun's bodyguard. But now he can be of use because he's Porsche's roommate and from what we've seen his closet friend in that house. Just an aside...the friendship between Porsche and Pete is so cute. Pete showing Porsche how to protect his neck. Gold...just gold. 4. The boys. Oh my. There was a lot. And I think it was a lot because we are going to need this to look back on to remind ourselves how much these two love each other. There are only a few episodes left and we know because this a drama and a BL for that matter that these two cannot stay this happy for long. This is a honeymoon period because a hurricane at sea. I think Tawan crawling out of the woodwork is just the tip of a massive iceberg. The sheer amount of playful joy and exploration these two were doing in this episode is a revelation in that it shows just how their feelings for each other separates them from the world they live in. While at the same time being in some ways limited by the world they live it. Yet they still found ways to butt up against those limitations and defy those limitations and find happiness and comfort in one another. Kinn having never felt he could have a date (i.e. do something normal with someone he loves) is as sad as it is touching. Porsche represents everything Kinn lost when he was forced took over for Khun, and everything he probably silently longed for which then contributed to his coldness and the darkness that was growing in him. Porsche is a light he never saw coming and is blinded by in the best of ways, but also in a dangerous way. Because the minor family (or any enemy of his family) can use Porsche as a weapon against him, which is what Mr. Korn was warning him about last episode. Btw..Who thinks Mr. Korn doesn't know what these two are doing. I mean come on he knew what happened between them in the hotel in episode 4. This is happening in his own house. Just a thought...wouldn't it be messed up if Mr. Korn is the one who brought Tawan back to stop what is happening between Kinn and Porsche. While I'm pretty sure it's Vegas, I wouldn't put it past Mr. Korn as away of teaching his son a lesson. This is also why I don't believe Porsche is his son, because I doubt he would've allowed things to get this far between them if they were brothers. At least that's the view from my particular bridge.
I have a comment on your first point. Didn't Kim only say that Porsche might be the son of his dad's mistress?? I don't think he necessarily meant/thought that Porsche might be his half-broter. If he is right I feel like his dad was probably in love with this woman who had a child, Porsche, just with a different man. Also one of your last comments is spot on, Korn knows something is happening between Porsche and Kinn and he wouldnt let that happen knowing they're half brothers (I sure hope so anyway). I feel like your other comments are spot on!

Remember after Big got hurt he was sent to guard Kim and Kim made a comment about Big worrying someone/Porsche would take Kinn away from him. I think Kim knows Big is in love with Kinn. And him throwing out there that Porsche may be their half brother is to get Big to think twice about any plans to hurt Porsche. Just something to think about.

At 9:18 - actually Porsche has confessed already!! The bathroom scene last ep - after Kinn accuses him he says "I should have never loved a crappy guy like you" - hence why Kinn grabs him and apologises and the scene shifts so much, because it was a confession admitted in such an emotional and sad scenario that Kinn obviously immediately felt love, guilt, relief, and all the emotions..

I also been in the fandom life for a long time, and I'm in Asia, where anything queer media was always did in secrecy and/or low budget, low quality product because there's not enough fundings due to the stigma and discrimination and government ban. As you said, it's a looooong way to where we are now. When I watched first episode of KinnPorsche, I cried because of how long it was that I was waiting for a queer story with a queer lead to have this BUDGET AND QUALITY AND ACCEPTANCE as regular mainstream media, and KinnPorsche, an ASIAN product, actually delivers this to us now! And when I finally watched this episode, I was ugly sobbing until I got headache the next morning because of how beautiful the production and the writing for this episode is--it's everything I wanted and waited for so long and I'm so, so glad that I'm still alive to witness this story. I'm so glad KinnPorsche was produced like this and reap what they sow, given how now they're always trending and popular globally (even Mile and Apo will appear in some ads in US, iirc). you should see the Twitter threads about how Mile and Apo actually put more of themselves in this whole dating scene rather than Kinn and Porsche, you can tell they improvised a lot of lil' and kisses and gazes ...oc they followed a script but I can clearly see, and it wouldn't be weird considering how good of a director Pond is if Pond just told them in very general ways how to act during this date and the rest and natural actions were all done following the general idea but details are all on them alone. You will find some similarities to the actual Mile and Apo off cameras (except for the kisses and very intimate exchanges)
From now on that is the only way I'm gonna take my toast in the morning 😊 This episode wasn't really that plot driven, more character building, but it was so nice to see Kinn and Porche navigate this whole thing, being hot and heavy one minute at cute and adorable the next. I really like, that the second they get alone time, Kinn becomes the "kid" from the forrest again, he has permenently led his guard down with Porche, and is being his true self around him. By the way, in the bathroom scene from last episode Porche did say "I shouldn't have loved someone like you" - does that count as a confession?! LOL My favorite scene was probably Porche going to the bar to talk with his friends about dating, and a dating a guy at that. At first he looked shy and self-conscious about the whole thing, but the fact they were almost indifferent to it, and embodied the saying "hopefully one day coming out won't even be a thing" - was just so incredible to watch! 👌 Oh and I also loved that Porche came clean about seeing Tawan and taking the picture (which is a total violation of Kinns privacy) - open communication, is that going to be a thing now? 🤔😲
Also I don’t know if someone already mentioned it in the comments but when they get changed for their date they’re wearing each other’s clothes 😭 Kinn was wearing the dark outfit in ep 5 and Porsche was wearing that blueish vest in ep 5 also. Kinn even stole Porsche’s converse ahahah they’re the same shoes he’s wearing in ep 3 by the pier. I can’t with these two. They ruin me.
23:20 I donno if anyone else mentioned this but when you started to cry and mentioned how long fandoms have been waiting for a show like this, I wondered if you meant, the queer community of a whole, waiting for some normal, action packed, high budget representation. I'm straight but I have queer family members and friends, so when they mention representation and educated me on a lot of things lgbtqia+ I began to respect and have so much love for the community and the people as a whole. So, to see you tear up at the cinematography, chemistry, plot of this show, makes me tear up, cause I feel the pain, the relief and the hope of more positive, strong and beautiful representation, especially from western media.
OMG you got me so emotional with what you said after the pool scene. It reminded me when I was part of the Luke & Noah fandom, from the soap opera "As The World Turns" from 07-10, after they had like 2 kisses, they just stopped. It became so bad, that the AfterElton website actually had a clock counting down the days since they last kissed on-screen, and it was well over 150 days... from an hour long soap opera... that airs 5 days a week... all year round. Not only that, but their screentime got drastically reduced, out of 60 episodes, they were only in 12, with a total of 36 minutes together. So I totally understood you, when you said we've been waiting for this for a very long time, because we have!

This is the next generation BL drama in the flesh (pun intended!) I am kinda new to BL (only about 3 years) but am so glad that I have lived long enough to see it in the light of day. When I was in grade school/high school being able to be your true self was still a secret not to be out in the open. (in my mid 60's.) By the way: 1. It's a temple in Bangkok: 2. The relationship between Kinn and Porsche was moving so fast, you just knew it couldn’t last. Now Kinn is going to be forced to face his past and all those unresolved feelings for Tawan. Meanwhile, we know Vegas is ready to swoop in and give Porsche a shoulder to cry on. I also think Kim is getting ready to make a move and complete the rupture between our lovebirds. They’ve had their, “We’ll always have Paris” moment. Now cruel reality and the consequences of past actions are going to intrude and this relationship is going to really be put to the test. But one of the key tropes in the romance genre is the testing of the depth of the lovers’ feelings for each other, usually through a combination of misunderstandings and outside factors separating them. After the sweetness of this episode, expect a host of more complicated and powerful emotions to be in the driver’s seat from here on out. We’ve been on the baby emotional roller coaster. From here on out, we are strapped into the seats of the scary big ass emotional roller coaster. I’m expecting some major catharsis at the end of this series. But will everything be resolved? The producers and directors are talking about a season 2, so I suspect they are in the fundraising stage, give the runaway success of this series. So much to look forward to (and dread) in the next 6 episodes).

i loved this episode so much! i want to love kim/porchay but my god i cringe so hard every time that little cinnamon roll talks to kim, but that's just my anxiety. xD i love how much sweetness we got between kinn/porsche and you're right, the growth! the only thing i'm worried about is how they're going to handle the vegas/pete thing since it's already episode 8 and we've only gotten a tiny moment between them and it was advertised as a clear side story. i'm holding out hope, though, because the show hasn't let me down yet!

To me, Porsche's smoking habit represents his old life, one that was carefree and away from the mafia but also one without Kinn. Seeing him want to quit smoking makes me think that he wants to quit his old life, both the playboy approach he had and the comparative safety he had. He is turning toward a new life, as he says: one with Kinn but also one with extreme dangers.

This episode was so wholesome! I mean, that smile that Kinn has throughout the episode should be ILLEGAL. I totally get what you said, people have been waiting a long ass time for series like this (and Addicted/Heroin, the golden standard of course). I still remember watching the trailer and teaser again and again for months on end, just waiting for it. I'm so totally up for the next ep, things are gonna get craaaaaazy!!! Again.

I loved everything about this episode INCLUDING Tawan. It gives both Kinn and Porsche a chance to acknowledge that in order to move on, Kinn must be more honest and tell the whole truth to keep Porsche around. Porsche already made it plain in the last episode that he loves him HOWEVER he won't allow his love to be taken for granted. A few things....another long one you've been warned.
1. I think at this point Kim might think his father had something to do with covering up how Porsche's parents died. And that he may feel guilty about it. Which is something Kim has never seen from his father. While he threw out there that one or both of them might be his half brother, I'm not sure he really believes that. It just might have been a passing thought in his head that he spoke out loud. He knows at this point that Porschay doesn't have any information about what is going on. I also think he knows that Porsche is being used by his father for some reason. Right now he's grasping at straws to figure it all out. Which might be why he threw out there that Porsche might be his half brother.
2. I really need an explanation as to why Porsche is so afraid of ghosts because it's almost an irrational fear. My theory is that something really bad happened when he was very young, and to get him to not talk about it his parents (his mother in particular) told him it was ghosts. I have a feeling Porsche's father is somehow connected to Mr. Korn. Remember Mr. Korn told Kinn when Kinn came back and couldn't convince Porsche to be his bodyguard (no matter how much money he offered Porsche) that a man who can't be bought is good to have around. Maybe Porsche's father couldn't be bought and that's why he's dead. Maybe the mother being killed was collateral damage as Porsche was also in the "car" when it happened.
3. Tawan just all of a sudden comes back from the "dead" right after Kinn is happy with someone else. I feel Vegas' slimy finger prints all over this. Let's think about this for a second. Vegas is obsessed with Porsche. And that obsession is born from wanting to beat Kinn at everything. He couldn't be the first to put his stamp on Porsche (i.e. he didn't get to r@pe him because Kinn interrupted him in episode 4) and last episode he was interrupted again when he tried to seduce Porsche. I bet he knows they are together now and I also bet he saved Tawan as a trump card to mess with Kinn. Vegas seems to always have a plan. I feel that whatever his plan is with Tawan somehow doesn't go the way he thought it would and that's when he resorts to doing whatever he does with Pete. We've seen that while clearly Pete has a crush on/fascination with Vegas, Vegas hasn't paid too much attention to Pete. He hasn't had any use for Pete because Pete is primarily Khun's bodyguard. But now he can be of use because he's Porsche's roommate and from what we've seen his closet friend in that house. Just an aside...the friendship between Porsche and Pete is so cute. Pete showing Porsche how to protect his neck. Gold...just gold.
4. The boys. Oh my. There was a lot. And I think it was a lot because we are going to need this to look back on to remind ourselves how much these two love each other. There are only a few episodes left and we know because this a drama and a BL for that matter that these two cannot stay this happy for long. This is a honeymoon period because a hurricane at sea. I think Tawan crawling out of the woodwork is just the tip of a massive iceberg. The sheer amount of playful joy and exploration these two were doing in this episode is a revelation in that it shows just how their feelings for each other separates them from the world they live in. While at the same time being in some ways limited by the world they live it. Yet they still found ways to butt up against those limitations and defy those limitations and find happiness and comfort in one another. Kinn having never felt he could have a date (i.e. do something normal with someone he loves) is as sad as it is touching. Porsche represents everything Kinn lost when he was forced took over for Khun, and everything he probably silently longed for which then contributed to his coldness and the darkness that was growing in him. Porsche is a light he never saw coming and is blinded by in the best of ways, but also in a dangerous way. Because the minor family (or any enemy of his family) can use Porsche as a weapon against him, which is what Mr. Korn was warning him about last episode. Btw..Who thinks Mr. Korn doesn't know what these two are doing. I mean come on he knew what happened between them in the hotel in episode 4. This is happening in his own house. Just a thought...wouldn't it be messed up if Mr. Korn is the one who brought Tawan back to stop what is happening between Kinn and Porsche.
While I'm pretty sure it's Vegas, I wouldn't put it past Mr. Korn as away of teaching his son a lesson. This is also why I don't believe Porsche is his son, because I doubt he would've allowed things to get this far between them if they were brothers.
At least that's the view from my particular bridge.
I have a comment on your first point. Didn't Kim only say that Porsche might be the son of his dad's mistress?? I don't think he necessarily meant/thought that Porsche might be his half-broter. If he is right I feel like his dad was probably in love with this woman who had a child, Porsche, just with a different man. Also one of your last comments is spot on, Korn knows something is happening between Porsche and Kinn and he wouldnt let that happen knowing they're half brothers (I sure hope so anyway).

Remember after Big got hurt he was sent to guard Kim and Kim made a comment about Big worrying someone/Porsche would take Kinn away from him. I think Kim knows Big is in love with Kinn. And him throwing out there that Porsche may be their half brother is to get Big to think twice about any plans to hurt Porsche. Just something to think about.

Yeah, I am in my late 30s and in fandom for nearly 2/3 of it. We have been waiting for something like this for a long time, when it is done right. You saying it made me teared up too.
I loved the different energy of this episode and so wanted them to find a way to make it work in their real world. It's just beautiful watching things unfold but the sense of 'the quiet before the storm' is never far away. Really touched by your commentary as well. At 9:18 - actually Porsche has confessed already!! The bathroom scene last ep - after Kinn accuses him he says "I should have never loved a crappy guy like you" - hence why Kinn grabs him and apologises and the scene shifts so much, because it was a confession admitted in such an emotional and sad scenario that Kinn obviously immediately felt love, guilt, relief, and all the emotions..

I also been in the fandom life for a long time, and I'm in Asia, where anything queer media was always did in secrecy and/or low budget, low quality product because there's not enough fundings due to the stigma and discrimination and government ban. As you said, it's a looooong way to where we are now. When I watched first episode of KinnPorsche, I cried because of how long it was that I was waiting for a queer story with a queer lead to have this BUDGET AND QUALITY AND ACCEPTANCE as regular mainstream media, and KinnPorsche, an ASIAN product, actually delivers this to us now! And when I finally watched this episode, I was ugly sobbing until I got headache the next morning because of how beautiful the production and the writing for this episode is--it's everything I wanted and waited for so long and I'm so, so glad that I'm still alive to witness this story.
I'm so glad KinnPorsche was produced like this and reap what they sow, given how now they're always trending and popular globally (even Mile and Apo will appear in some ads in US, iirc). you should see the Twitter threads about how Mile and Apo actually put more of themselves in this whole dating scene rather than Kinn and Porsche, you can tell they improvised a lot of lil' and kisses and gazes ...oc they followed a script but I can clearly see, and it wouldn't be weird considering how good of a director Pond is if Pond just told them in very general ways how to act during this date and the rest and natural actions were all done following the general idea but details are all on them alone. You will find some similarities to the actual Mile and Apo off cameras (except for the kisses and very intimate exchanges)

This episode wasn't really that plot driven, more character building, but it was so nice to see Kinn and Porche navigate this whole thing, being hot and heavy one minute at cute and adorable the next. I really like, that the second they get alone time, Kinn becomes the "kid" from the forrest again, he has permenently led his guard down with Porche, and is being his true self around him. By the way, in the bathroom scene from last episode Porche did say "I shouldn't have loved someone like you" - does that count as a confession?! LOL
My favorite scene was probably Porche going to the bar to talk with his friends about dating, and a dating a guy at that. At first he looked shy and self-conscious about the whole thing, but the fact they were almost indifferent to it, and embodied the saying "hopefully one day coming out won't even be a thing" - was just so incredible to watch! 👌
Oh and I also loved that Porche came clean about seeing Tawan and taking the picture (which is a total violation of Kinns privacy) - open communication, is that going to be a thing now? 🤔😲

23:20 I donno if anyone else mentioned this but when you started to cry and mentioned how long fandoms have been waiting for a show like this, I wondered if you meant, the queer community of a whole, waiting for some normal, action packed, high budget representation. I'm straight but I have queer family members and friends, so when they mention representation and educated me on a lot of things lgbtqia+ I began to respect and have so much love for the community and the people as a whole. So, to see you tear up at the cinematography, chemistry, plot of this show, makes me tear up, cause I feel the pain, the relief and the hope of more positive, strong and beautiful representation, especially from western media.

OMG you got me so emotional with what you said after the pool scene. It reminded me when I was part of the Luke & Noah fandom, from the soap opera "As The World Turns" from 07-10, after they had like 2 kisses, they just stopped. It became so bad, that the AfterElton website actually had a clock counting down the days since they last kissed on-screen, and it was well over 150 days... from an hour long soap opera... that airs 5 days a week... all year round. Not only that, but their screentime got drastically reduced, out of 60 episodes, they were only in 12, with a total of 36 minutes together. So I totally understood you, when you said we've been waiting for this for a very long time, because we have!

More like Tawan, with his delusional ass, putting the moves on Kinn when he knows Porsche is around and Kinn will more than likely have a weak moment and Porsche will see it. And will not be here for that BS! That's why I think Vegas is going to be in the next episode. Hi, I love your reaction video's mostly because I have seen the episode at least twice by the time I see your video so I know what's coming. Your reactions are great. This is the next generation BL drama in the flesh (pun intended!) I am kinda new to BL (only about 3 years) but am so glad that I have lived long enough to see it in the light of day. When I was in grade school/high school being able to be your true self was still a secret not to be out in the open. (in my mid 60's.) By the way: 1. It's a temple in Bangkok: 2. Porsche then with Kinn are making merit with. It's a Buddhist practice to ask for something or be thankful for something or get a blessing for something.

The relationship between Kinn and Porsche was moving so fast, you just knew it couldn’t last. Now Kinn is going to be forced to face his past and all those unresolved feelings for Tawan. Meanwhile, we know Vegas is ready to swoop in and give Porsche a shoulder to cry on. I also think Kim is getting ready to make a move and complete the rupture between our lovebirds. They’ve had their, “We’ll always have Paris” moment. Now cruel reality and the consequences of past actions are going to intrude and this relationship is going to really be put to the test. But one of the key tropes in the romance genre is the testing of the depth of the lovers’ feelings for each other, usually through a combination of misunderstandings and outside factors separating them. After the sweetness of this episode, expect a host of more complicated and powerful emotions to be in the driver’s seat from here on out. We’ve been on the baby emotional roller coaster. From here on out, we are strapped into the seats of the scary big ass emotional roller coaster. I’m expecting some major catharsis at the end of this series. But will everything be resolved? The producers and directors are talking about a season 2, so I suspect they are in the fundraising stage, give the runaway success of this series. Omg, when you got emotional at the underwater kiss I got tears in my eyes too. I turned 30 last week and I absolutely understand what you said at that point of your reaction. I used to sneak readings of the things I liked while on cybers (um, a place where you payed to use a computer for a while) and to watch this series from my home now and be able to see other people, around a lot of countries, enjoy it too now? Gosh, yes. It's everything.

i loved this episode so much! i want to love kim/porchay but my god i cringe so hard every time that little cinnamon roll talks to kim, but that's just my anxiety. xD i love how much sweetness we got between kinn/porsche and you're right, the growth! the only thing i'm worried about is how they're going to handle the vegas/pete thing since it's already episode 8 and we've only gotten a tiny moment between them and it was advertised as a clear side story. i'm holding out hope, though, because the show hasn't let me down yet!
