"It might lack a little bit because my laptop is really old" *laptop goes ahead and handles 2849291 instances of spire with only using about 75% cpu* That aint old, that is a fuckin machine my bois
brooks the guy to add atleast 3 layers to every element of the track. maybe he stacks his bounced mixes too, then stacking in master too, thats how we get a brooks track.
I'm still a little confused though. Maybe I need to go back and watch, but how do you get the sound off to the professional level? Like, if you take a rough tropical house track, how do you mix it to sound at the level of Kygo?... Is it all about choosing the right presets? Where do they find them, or are they all self made?
Long rant: that's a lot of work for a terrible song. Like literally the same as 99% of other electro-house-whatever songs out there. Like I bet if I go on Beatport right now I will find a 100 of these songs there on the top electro list with barely any difference. Like, you hear it once you won't ever remember it. Maybe I'm just picky? I don't know, seems totally uncreative, same plugins, same presets, same cliches, same "drops", I have no idea why anyone would make 1000 of these, and people still do. It's just stacking shit and loops and totally unrelated sounds together in some mosh like when djs try to get "creative" and the result is a big mess with no focal points and lack of the "trip" aka going from a->b which was so important in early techno or house even house made for clubs. Now its just throwing shit on tracks so you build tension and chaos for the "drop". Prime example of less being more. Try to use less shit and see if it works. I blame the availability of sample packs and loops, you can just throw a 100 on your tracks and you are done. One shit vocal chop here and there, a stab, impact, riser by the dozens, totally no concept or coherence. It's just sad people actually listen to this guy. Like, he might know how to make this specific genre and sound but it just misguides young producers. /Rant I guess
+ breakline you might be right, it might be too much for the young producers to understand, but Brooks is still a Genius. And it's not so much like other electro house tracks, Brooks got a unique sound.
I think you’re commenting on most of the music nowadays but you should also appreciate the creativity of Brooks’ manipulation of sounds. He does care about the vibe and spent hours on choosing the ‘right sound’. It’s future house/bounce after all, you can’t expect an emotional trip like trance.
to me all techno sounds the same🤷♂️ or all rock music or literally any genre i don’t listen to if you don’t like a genre you’ll always say it all sounds the same to you
