The best modern day example I can use is Cleanthony Early. Born and raised in the Bronx, then got drafted to the New York knicks. Being from a certain city (New York, Chicago, Atlanta etc. ) and then get drafted to played for that same city is a major ego booster! The best modern day example I can use is Cleanthony Early. Born and raised in the Bronx, then got drafted to the New York knicks. Being from a certain city (New York, Chicago, Atlanta etc. ) and then get drafted to played for that same city is a major ego booster!
Cleanthony was constantly hanging around the wrong crowd and partying in certain clubs that he should not be at, long story short his entourage gets into a scuffle after the club and he ends up getting shot in the leg. Then when police and ambulance arrive he also has a non licensed gun in his car. So guess what happened next. His nba career goes down the drain.
Now this story is very recent (happened maybe in 2013-2014) but I bet most of you don’t even know who Cleanthony Early is, that’s because he was only in the league for about a year.
