Why did they put the unit in front of the vane? Obviously it will cause turbulence of unknown characterization. Looks like a bad design. The unit should have not been in the same horizontal plane as the vane. Part of the reason its swinging back and forth is due to this, there's a wind absence so it is pushed rapidly in and then overshoots the other side and oscillates back.
Excellent observaton 3 thumbs up... i would say they should have made this more like the professonal ones that look more like a fuselage of a plane or at least have a protruding front spigot half the lenght of the rear, that would have counter balance it i would think and kept it from yawing so dam much.. still i do have a kestrel 5000 but if i need to know the wind direction, i just get a dead reckoning of where the wind is comming from and point my finger saying " Wind is comming from that direction and going this direction "

If you think that it’s causing that big of a problem then you’re dumber than you look
