If I were Tony and no one was oobatz I would have created a trifecta council of consiglieri emeritus made up of Junior, Feech and old man Baccala. Where they get paid directly from Tony and exist purely to give holistic/big picture advice. Having that level of smarts and experience would be invaluable. Plus it keeps them out of trouble and affords them the respect in the organisation.
I'm not necessarily sold on Baccala but I couldn't think of any one of that generation

when he said "friend of ours" you'd think one of the actors would have said that's an unrealistic thing to say. I mean not to be too picky - but "friend" and "friend of ours" have very specific meanings in that world... and Hesh was definitely not "a friend of ours"
Johnny Sack was always a fucking snake, which is worse than a rat given how deadly it's bite is. Johnny Sack's actions caused way too many problems for the Soprano Crew more than the constant infighting in the family.

The eyeline matching and character alignments are often disconcertingly off at the sit downs. I was really noticing that at the one where Ralph cracks the joke about Jenny Sac.
