    Thanks for posting. Looks like it's getting better over time, but not quite the latency and upload speeds that I need on a consistent basis. Hopefully will be better in a couple of months. You're probably within about 45 minutes from us, so this channel and the tests that you do are invaluable.

      I appreciate it! I’ve just been getting a lot of criticism lately. I know that’s how the internet works, just gets irritating after awhile.

    Thanks for the videos. I’m in SE Georgia near the Florida line. I too have Best Effort, and I do have good and bad days. I mainly stream and on live sports it sucks.

    • @brainhomestead6
      @brainhomestead6  Год назад

      I’ve noticed that too about live sports. I think because when watching any streaming services that aren’t live, it downloads 30 seconds ahead. With live sports it doesn’t have any video it can preemptively download. It has been getting better overall, but there’s still buffering.
      I have videos where I download big games and you can see the spikes in speed as satellites come in and out of my range.

    Thanks. I’m in west Georgia by along I20 and my ATT is kinda ok but it’s ATT 🤮. The max speed I can get is 25mb down and about 3 up. I have the option of going best effort but been waiting for full service. Full service should be here by the end of the year. I want better speed and also support companies that are expanding services instead of relying on their monopoly and churching me $75/month for 25mbps while charging others the same price for hundreds of MBPS. Makes no sense

      I had enough of AT&T here. $70 per month for 6Mbps connection. I live between Carrollton and Rockmart. Since this video I’ve gotten upgraded to full service StarLink and it’s much better!

    My internet was 1.5 Mbps here in the mountains of VA. I got Starlink last March. There is no way I would ever go back to Brightspeed internet!! I also play Mw2. Starlink has never had a major issue. With my other internet, I would still be downloading it!!!

      I watch plenty of these StarLink videos so I hear people complaining about lag in games, but I also have been playing shooters in clans for years and I remember there’s always people that complain about lag because they’re bad at shooters and it’s easier to blame lag than it is admit they’re not good!

    Have had ours for about 3 months now (also best effort). At first it was awful, but I expected that for up to a week. After that it did great for streaming. Gaming on it is not great compared to my hotspot as it's a lot more stable. I will say if it's your only option for you gamers then take it. When I do play on Starlink on and off my ping fluctuates (constantly) between 70-110. Never really spikes although I'm sure it would if I played on it more than 40min here and there. I do use the ethernet adapter for it as well which does help. Average speeds are around 20-30Mbps during the day and at night I've seen it hit around 165Mbps so far

    • @brainhomestead6
      @brainhomestead6  Год назад

      That’s pretty close to what I’m still seeing, so I have no complaints. I don’t have enough signal to use a hotspot.

      A shame about the hotspot.
      I really enjoy starlink. It's nice to have multiple ppl being able to stream 1080p at the same time. I'm curious to see what happens if I ever get to 1TB tho

    Our Brightspeed DSL has been out for weeks. they have just now got it back on and we went from 3 meg download speeds to barely 1 meg. I have tried cellular internet, off brand cellular and it is so inconsistent. I just placed an order for best effort this morning, I live in central NC. Where is the best place to get the satellite installed?

      Now, I’ve had quite a few friends that have, but I never did. I have a weird flavor of gaming I like. Action/Adventure, Horror Shooter, FPS, MMO, but very few RTS.
      I just now got done doing my walkthrough for Uncharted 4. Going to upload the last 2 chapters of it tonight.
