Thanks for your honest opinions. There are like and dislikes living in the PH especially in the remote area or town and living in the big cities. As you know PH is a 3rd world county, If you are living in small towns or remote province, you would not find big groceries, lack hospitals and govt services. However, you will enjoy the sceneries, beaches, or mountains and simple life. If you are living in BGC, that's very different story.

if you're gonna build a house there in siargao, make it sturdier and storm proof because siargao has no mountains to protect it from storms. so build concrete houses with roof decks not those with steel roofs or huts(kubo) that goes flying whenever a super typhoon comes.
Philippine people are the most hospitable people in the world. We are very supportive, loving, caring and funny. Think about this: why there are so many foreigners vloggers going to the Philippines. Ask the foreigners vloggers and you will know the real answer.
You have to live in the city especially in Manila so that you can find everything you want. Don't live in the jungle sure You can't find anything in the jungle but snake.
Hallo Johann and Emy! You're such an encouragement for me always everytime you vlog your residence Siargao. Though you're from the most developed country Sweden yet you chose to Siargao to reside and enjoy the nature. When I retire as Nurse I would also live in our island and plant vegetables. I have worked in Germany and I know what it means living in developed country. Danke dass Ihr auf den Philippinen wohnt, pass auf Euch auch. Ich liebe Euch.
Every country has its own negative and positive side because for me there is no perfect country. I also agree to one of the comments that “familiarity” is the key to success. People all over the world has different attitudes because we have a different educational background. After experiencing and exploring a certain country after living/settling in a certain place/province, foreigners will realized the beauty of the country. The culture/people & traditions and how to incorporate themselves to the society they lived. Anyway welcome again to the beautiful country the PH…🇵🇭🇵🇭
Happy for you guys, I have a colleague a Swedish as well He came to the Philippines with his wife for a vacation we went to Boracay and Cebu and stayed at my house for 2 weeks. He plans to visit again in the future. Keep safe and enjoy your second home, Mabuhay🎉🙏
Awesome vlog. Perhaps, if you guys stayed first in BGC you won’t experienced a big difference. But glad that you guys already adopted island living and enjoying it. Looking forward to your next vlogs.👍🏼❤️
The option is always yours: to leave or not to leave. Please do not impose your culfure or values on people who are obviously different from yours. If you are uncomfortable with any of our tradition or culture you are free to leave. Filipinos are friendly by enlarge but please do not expect everyone to be of your liking. Having said all that, welcome to the Philippines.

I recommend u to go and visit on Northern part of Luzon like San Juan La Union, Baguio and 100 islands in Pangasinan so many beautiful spots there in Northern Luzon
That's taro or gabi that the roots and leaves are edible. There are seaweeds that are edible too as in salad. On some seaweeds just wash them and add tomatoes and/or onions; on some there are bits of stones stuck on them, remove these stones, wash or blanch them and presto! ready to eat!' Be safe and stay healthy. ☺ Thanks for loving the Philippines.
My reco for your steps is to put pebbles on each "flight" of step to provide grip, then cover with slats of bamboo or wood planks to give you a smooth landing per step. This way, no foliage will have a chance to grow on your pathway.
Here in Bulacan, the weather is usually heavy rains/storms from June to around September. Thank you for liking your stay here in the Philippines. Just be extra cautious. Not all the places here are safe to be honest. On a positive note you will really meet cheerful Filipinos who smiles to strangers and very hospitable. Keep safe and enjoy😊❤
To be honest being a dark skin American living here rarely do you get smiles but bad stares that's really threatening type..if you are white there's a huge difference.
The pregnant women, senior citizens and PWDs rule in queuing can be a bit confusing in Philippines for those who do not know it. It is a law and a deeply ingrained in the Filipino culture. Majority of Filipinos (although I think "all") agree with it, as we believe that when you get old, you cannot stand and walk like how young people can. So for able and healthier people, we must give way for them or help them. It can be confusing with PWD as some of them look like a normal person, but these people have cards from the government that they present in the cashier for 20% discount. Some 60 years old, do not look like 60 years old too. It is a law that senior citizens and PWD should have 20% discount, thus majority have a card as a proof. Although, it can be irritating for those who are not in theit 60s. lol. I have a Filipino-Canadian friend that gets offended, everytime the cashier will ask him for senior citizen card, as he is just on his late 40s lol. I heard it is offensive to offer your sit to older people in Japan and Hongkong. For us Filipinos, it is just not right to not let them go first in the line or give up your seat for them. My husband is Swedish and I always death stare at him, if he will not let an older person first and or give up his seat to pregnant women, women with kids and old people. So far here in Scandinavia, I stopped expecting people to do the same, except my husband. I just cannot bring myself not do it like how we do in Philippines. I just feel guilty. My husband also complains everytime I stop him from going to the elevator first, as we need to let old people, PWD and pregnant women go first, before us. I explained to him that we able people should be able to catch them or assist them, in case they fall or slip.
My sister doesn't look sick with cancer & she has a pwd card which is very helpful specially in long queues when she feels nauseated. Hence our SC, pregnant & PWDs law is very humane & bespeaks of the Filipino trait of sensitivity & compassion.
In Europe particularly in Austria the pregnant and women with babies and seniors esp with disabilities have their own seats in all the public transportations and yes it's most often given the priorities seats from the young ones ..its understable. Citizens with physical disabilities should wear reconizable badge ( with 3 big black.dots)on their arms or should carry their ID'S ( issued by the govt.) esp in Parking Lots/ Garage to avail their right and priorities to park. These reserved parking lots remained " reserved" for them only.. Same as family car with babies on board they have their own parking lots..( bigger than the usual) for unloading their strollers safety wise.Orderly managed. I can say.
@@bellbellaa7947 With seat assignments and parking, it is the same in PH, except tricycles and jeepneys. Sometimes the slots are taken also by some same groups already. If the PWD-Seniors suspect that someone is not eligible of that seat, they can complain to the driver. But overall, Philippine culture prioritize this groups. Here in Norway, the young ones are acting like they do not notice the old-PWD people.
Thank YOU for a Clear Explanation. Few years ago, I personally testified Myself when I have experienced an improper Disgust from Others who are NOT really Aware of their Surroundings. That's when the Time I took care of My Sick Father who was Struggling with Dementia. I always bring him out with Me every time I shop some Groceries, buy Medicines at Pharmacies, Go to the Bank or Remittance Centers, Dropping by in any Convenience Stores, and so on. First of all, I usually let him sit at the Safe Corner Seat of PWD's while I am doing each Tasks. So I get a Priority Number using his ID card. For some people who are abruptly Concluded, they are so Confused and became Judgmental why I was given such Privilege since I looked too Healthy & Young..😁 Then, I Often point Out to them My Father is just behind there waiting for Me as I am doing the Transaction in behalf of him. And so finally they Understand.

Yep! Foreign tourists especially in Siargao are mainly surfers even way way back when Siargao is not yet well known to local tourists I remembered when I haven't moved here yet in Cavite foreigners will visit our house and have a chat with my grandparents and aunts. Siargao is well known outside the PH always featured in a surfing magazine before vlogging became a thing.
I am subscribing because you two are fun.. and adventurous vegetarian.. if you finally settle down, you can maybe cook your own food from fresh lokal vegetables. Keep safe, make sure you boil a lot of ginger and drink it to flush whatever is making Emy sick .. I wish We can go back right now to my Philippines but not just yet.. enjoy
Good feedback here! Those should be a positive motivation for all. Left my country for a decade now to settle for good in North America but still we are going back there for a good vacation eventhough it is quite expensive for us (flight tickets, family treats and parties etc). More power to your channel and continue making fun in the Philippines!

Have you had the chance to meet with 8 Miles from Home vlogger? The family of Jay, Sasha and Story, they are living their life in Siargao for almost 3 years now. They too are vegan.
We love them, great people!
Thank you for choosing Philippines as your home...
For some people who are abruptly Concluded, they are so Confused and became Judgmental why I was given such Privilege since I looked too Healthy & Young..😁
Then, I Often point Out to them My Father is just behind there waiting for Me as I am doing the Transaction in behalf of him. And so finally they Understand.

Thank you guys for liking philippines!now so many foriener moving in the philippines!stay safe and happy!🙏🙏🙏❤❤❤
it's maybe quite expensive to live in Siargao but if you love surfing, it's paradise
I wish We can go back right now to my Philippines but not just yet.. enjoy
You should watch Jay, Sacha and Story el-Haj from the youtube vlog 8 Miles from Home. They also live in Siargao island 😊
Good feedback here! Those should be a positive motivation for all. Left my country for a decade now to settle for good in North America but still we are going back there for a good vacation eventhough it is quite expensive for us (flight tickets, family treats and parties etc). More power to your channel and continue making fun in the Philippines!
Thank you for visiting or living here in Philippines ..Filipino peoples are very hospitality .
