💞 Thanks for the shout out!! (Meanwhile, I have been a huge fan of Jen's for years so maybe more exciting for me than than you! lol) It was lovely to meet Erika and I hope our paths cross again and that we can have more time to hang out and talk. xo-Kate
Thank you so much. I am not able to go to Rhinebeck. This gave me so much joy. I almost feel like I got to go. I will probably watch it over and over and maybe order some of the products. Thank you again.
What a GREAT video! You guys made it feel like I was right there having tea and hearing your Rhinebeck stories! I met The Grocery Girls at Knit City Calgary this year, so a very small degree of separation here😉🥰You did SO MUCH and found such great treasures!!! Can't wait to hear about the next part of your trip for even more inspiration!
these (huge) events all ran so smoothly, and we really do recognize and appreciate all the people working behind the scenes to make things fun for everyone!
Such fun watching you two. I got to scream hi to you at Indie Untangled while we were tooling by in a go cart off to our second building. Loved Erica’s Wolf Sweater! And that red vest was fab. I made the Aperture in the exact wool you used for yours and wore it on Saturday. I got tons of compliments on it. Thanks for the idea. This was my first Rhinebeck. I went with a friend I met on IG four years ago. We planned this trip for a whole year. She is from Alberta, Canada. She flew to St. Louis where I picked her up and we drove to Rhinebeck spent a couple of days there after show and drove back to St. Louis. Had a terrific time. Hope to do it again. Bought a ton of great yarn and just ordered some Sawkill bulky from their website bc I didn’t see their booth at the show! How can I spend three days buying yarn and then order more online. And before we gotta St. Louis, we stopped at a new yarn shop someone told me about at Woolen Affair on Friday night. Am I obsessed?
Thank you. I so enjoy you both so much . In person on the hill was such a treat - and this recap is just wonderful. I just wish we were in the same room and we were sharing our hauls with you guys! Just love ya!
Love you Jen and Erica. Thanks for the recap for those of us who could not attend the festivals . Erica, your knits are so amazing. You both inspire me and I agree that I am not one to scroll ravelry, I get my inspiration from my favorite fiber creatives on RUclips! I am sitting here knitting the 1999 using Alpaca Mist from Estelle Yarns. It’s 89% superfine Alpaca and 11% recycled polyamide. So soft and fluffy. ❤❤ P.s. I made the Flagship vest in the sample colors last December, Received many compliments. My first time steeking.
So worth the wait. Thank you for doing this. Love that you had so much fun and such great things to share! I don't like crowds so this is the best way for me to enjoy the festival. Looking forward to Part II.
I walked right past you on Saturday but didn’t get a chance to say hi, so I’m saying hi now. You are both so lucky to have each other to share your making passion with. Thanks for taking the time to put together this recap. Even though I was there, I clearly missed a lot!
Indie Untangled had a 'tangle' a few years back ... maybe 5 or so years ago, but I think they've come back and been pretty solid ever since! Every event we attended this year was FANTASTIC, well organized and really fun. The 'bad' show last year was Wool and Folk (which we attended last year as well) and they did not recover or come back. There was another show this year called Farm to Yarn (organized by one of the Wool and Folk people from last year) and I heard that was a major fail this year - they promised 2000-3000 attendees, but only 200 people showed up and vendors were left with tons of inventory and hardly any shoppers. So that's really sad - we didn't attend that show though. It's all a bit confusing - so many events - and I think every event has ups and downs, but I respect (and thank them) for all the work that goes into it behind the scenes!!
Love seeing your adventure ladies. Thanks for sharing it all with us. Erika, I made the Sassy cardigan in a yellow Peace Fleece yarn and totally LOVE it. You’ll be so happy you got that yarn. It’s a very wearable cardi. Linda from Canada.
Can't wait to see Part 2!!! Thank you so much for sharing your adventures, experiences and your lovely haul!!! What wonderful memories!! LOVE the carved pumpkins and felt ornaments!!
Thank you guys ! I was at Rhinebeck and missed being able to say hi and appreciate you. These days we needed the unadulterated joy - GLEE - that our community brings us. May our paths cross soon. Always welcome to visit! Extra bedroom on the beach here❤
Ive been eagerly awaiting this video. Thanks for taking the time to share it all while being so tired. You guys are lucky to have each and so much fun to watch. The kitties and those knitted cuffs!💓😻💓💓 i must make some!
thank you for sharing your experience! Now I want to knit all the things :-) In green! And finishing Gib was no small feat - I've knit one too, that stitch pattern is beautiful but not a mindless knit, especially the sleeve.
thank you!!! I love that Gib and was so proud to have finished in time - you're right, it's not mindless and one wrong stitch messes up the whole texture!
I first discovered your channel looking for Rhinebeck videos. You both seemed so nice and genuine so I kept watching your channel. I'd love to go someday but have more yarn than I can ever knit up 😂 and the Canadian dollar 😣 ....
Love this podcast. I live in Ankeny after moving from Colorado where I lived for 26 years. This was my first Rhinebeck. Beautiful time, but exhausting with the Friday events. I wish I had introduced myself to you at A Woolen Affair. We are still recovering and watching all the Rhinebeck Podcasts. I too, looked at what I bought and said wow. Oh well, knit on..Where are all the local knitting groups here in Ankeny/Des Moines? I am finding it hard to find a group for knit meet ups.
Ahhh, so sorry I missed you at Woolen Affair! It was an intense weekend for sure, but so much fun. Knit on!! (There are some good groups here, but we could start a new one as well ... Erica and I have talked about that. There is a group called Des Moines Metro Knitters, and an annual knitting weekend retreat called Sticks and String. There's also the Des Moines Knitting Guild! Also, check out @dsmcrochetclub on instagram - the name says crochet, but you can totally knit too and they meet weekly.)
I feel like we missed so many people, but we were definitely jumping around to so many things the whole time! Sorry we missed you! (Such a beautiful weekend - that weather can't be beat.)
Thanks for sharing the fun of your weekend. I'm not sure I'm cut out for all the peopling of a big festival like that, but I love hearing all about it. I'm obsessed with the Flagship Vest! I stopped the video to download the pattern...maybe that will be my New Year's cast on too
What a great episode! I was at Rhinebeck also, and missed you guys! It was my first time, and I went completely overboard. I was literally on a high for days afterwards. Love all your aquisitions! Sawkill and Battenkill were on my list but I had already gone overboard so that was my only regret, as well as North Bay fibers at Indie which I didn’t get and wish I had. But gosh what a great time!
I had to pause the video to order vote pins. I hope they get here quickly. It is great sharing in your adventures. You are a dynamic duo. Erica, come back soon.
Thanks for a wonderfully yarny recap of your adventures! You guys are really neat! one more thing: would you mind listing your favorite youtube channels to watch? thanks
Erica (& you!) should go to the Villages of Van Buren Scenic Drive! They have wood crafts & fiber crafts & a lot more! It's in Van Buren County, Iowa, so about roughly a 2 hour drive from D.M. Leave D.M. out E. University & take 163 South to Osky, then 63 south to Ottumwa, then 34 east to 16/turn off to Eldon I think. Anyway, it will be October 10 - 12, 2025. My favorite stops are the little river towns of Bettensport & Bonaparte, & then the biggest & busiest stop in Keosauqua.
For the longest time I thought you were talking about “sock hill” yarn. I thought, gee they really like to make sweaters out of sock yarn for some reason…. Whoops!
This was so fun!!!!! I have a question- are the vendors at the events on Friday also at New York Sheep and Wool? Or does each event have unique vendors?
hi! so, each event has different vendors. and it's really hard for most yarn vendors to get into NY Sheep and Wool, because they usually keep their vendors pretty much the same from year to year (and lots are local.) so the fringe / Friday events have a more open vendor opportunity for those who can't make it into NY Sheep and Wool. (so many vendors ... all different!)
the copycat stitch left saturday really early and the traffic was so bad it took her almost 3 hours to go 11 miles to sauguirtes. just a huge turnout and not enough road
oh WOW - the traffic was pretty nuts!! definitely a huge turnout with the perfect weather. the ticket guys at the barn on Sunday said they probably had 30,000 people on Saturday.
You guys are a blast! Spent my entire morning knitting, watching your recap, and searching all the vendors and patterns you talked about. Bliss!
thanks so much for watching!!
You two are so much fun! Thanks for sharing your weekend. Love all the yarn, pattern ideas and inspiration. Have a good time in the city.
thanks so much for watching!
You 2 are so very special… thank you again!
thank YOU for watching!
Thanks for sharing your experiences. The two of you are very special. I, too, love this knitting community❤️
thank you so much!!! the knitting community really IS so special and beautiful! we love it all so much (and already miss everyone.)
It was such a beautiful weekend. Thank you for posting and helping me relive the fun!
thank you so much for watching and hanging out with us! (way more to come next week!)

So glad we crossed paths! We adore you all and it was so great seeing you in real life! What a weekend. 😀
What a haul! My favorite to watch! ❤
Thank you! It was an amazing weekend.
Thanks Friends, so great to meet you :) :) :)

Hugs and high fives right back at ya - great meeting you too!
You Iowa girls are the coolest! You make people want to be Iowans!
Iowa is pretty great!
Thanks for the great video! Leila Raven is one of my favorite designers-her Deschain is a great summer sweater
So so cool - I came home and saw I was already following her. Best style and patterns!
Thank you so much. I am not able to go to Rhinebeck. This gave me so much joy. I almost feel like I got to go. I will probably watch it over and over and maybe order some of the products. Thank you again.
Night night sleepy Jen and Erica from last week. Thanks for taking us along for the ride!

ooooh, thanks for watching (and aren’t the Grocery Girls so great?) happy knitting - more adventures to come next week!
Enjoyed the review. I especially appreciate that both of you gave kudos to the volunteers.
these (huge) events all ran so smoothly, and we really do recognize and appreciate all the people working behind the scenes to make things fun for everyone!
Totally agree about Indie and how well it was run. The volunteers were wonderful.
They went above and beyond!! But all the events went so smoothly this year - just fantastic.
Awesome to see you both , it’s exciting and exhausting for sure ❤️❤️❤️❤️
it's both at the same time! (and now we already miss it!)
Naomi and Stephanie are the best, all around.
they really are!!!! two of my favorites, for sure.
Awww u two are lucky to have each other ❤❤❤
it's so great to have a knitting / travel buddy that likes doing the same things you do!
this was the best recap i have watched! (and i have watched a few as i am NOT ready for Rhinebeck to end ever...)
awww, thank you!!! there's even more fun coming in the next video on Saturday - very thorough. I'm not ready for it to end either!
That vest 😍😍😍
we're getting vested! I don't have enough vests! (your green vest too ... so good.)
