I’m not a van guy but to each their own. I do own a 2018 Jeep Wrangler and a 1966 Land Rover, and watching your Defender and Orangie step through the back country is like 4X4 porn!
I stopped in at Sonoran Rovers on Tuesday and actually got to drive the Wolf you previewed a few weeks ago. I loved it ! What a beast. If it wouldn’t cost an additional $12,000 to smog certify it here in California, I would seriously consider it.

I have a 2017 Rubicon and had an issue in the front suspension also. The solution was replacing the ball joints. That was the one thing all the experts said would not cause the problem. So much for the experts. The lower ball joints had minimal play, but I replaced them with the adjustable Teraflex parts and everything was great again. Something to check.

  • @jg-cs8xl

When was the last time you replaced the bushings in the sway bar links? also check the rear sway bar bushings as well as the shock and other bushings. I dealt with that similar clicking and found sway bar bushings shot, stabilizer shock bushing missing.
Replaced all worn out bushings took care of the noise - replace with rubber bushings, polyurethane bushings squeek badly after time. Also check that the coils are seated properly, sometimes they will rotate and hit against the coil seat stop.
These kinds of noises are annoying and where you think it is may not be where it is.

Chris a better set up to consider for your Overland Adventures would be to have an Overland Trailer like a Patriot Camper. When you Overland solo you take the Jeep, when Shannon travels with you, you tow the Patriot Camper. I say Patriot because they are arguably the best, yes they’re expensive but they’re built to last like your Wrangler. A lot of people baulk at the initial price ( Brad from Trail Recon did ) but since owning one he raves about ownership. So does Marco from OverlandX. Worth a thought for your kind of adventure.

This will be an interesting turn of events... The Van thing isn't for me, but that's my just my opinion. It's like when a Rock Star starts to make softer music, or goes country... I didn't buy anymore of their music. Hee hee I really enjoy the Jeep... Ya, I'm a Jeep guy ... But those were cool adventures. And watching Shannon behind the wheel and learning was cool. As others have stated, Orangy is what brought me here as well. I watched the Van footage only because I wanted to make sure you got the support ... Maybe he will come to his senses. Hahaha (my opinion slipping out again). I think it's more of an exciting time now, to see what you guys come up with. I would really like to see both vehicles puttering around together!? ... And think about it!! Take the money you would have paid for the Revel ... Even the monthly payment... And put it into the other two!! Hee hee

While you were looking into the popping noise on Orangy, it made me think about a question I have been meaning to ask. I just upgraded my 18 JLUR shoes to 35s and wasn't sure what I wanted to do as far as wheels so held off till all my research is in for my best option. I’ve dreamed about owning a 4x4 van for a long time. Even started to build out an Econoline a few years ago. Fact of the matter is, these vehicles are extremely expensive. Whether you’re starting from scratch or buying a fully functional machine like the Revel. I do still follow the market and it seems the used prices have come way down over the last year or so. Something to consider when selling yours. There’s a lot to be said about financial freedom, so I hope it all works out for you guys. Maybe a short wheelbase two door Rubicon is on your future? That would be fun. Good luck with the sale!

A poem I wrote many years ago that has served me well:
    Buy It?
    If you want it
    Don’t buy it
    Until you ponder it
    That you need it.
    Then, after you ponder it
    And still want it
    Because you need it
    And can afford it
    Without cred-it
    Buy it!
But only if you really, really need it
After you really, really, ponder it.
    Better yet
    Do with out it,
    Then forget it!
    The shorter version:
    If you want it
    Don’t buy it
    Ponder it
    That you need it
    And can afford it
    Without cred-it.
    Better yet
    Do with out it
    Then forget it!

Well done. No one wants to worry about their investment being ruined on a remote trail. If you can’t take it down the road less traveled then get rid of it.

Arizona should NEVER be called home if your from Pennsylvania!! In fact Pennsylvania should ALWAYS be called home even if you’ve never been to Pennsylvania!!!
Now if we could somehow give away Philly to NJ, NJ would LOVE Philly!! It’s got everything NJ wants!!! Pennsylvania would be PERFECT!!

From one Revel owner to another, this is sad to hear you're selling it!

Well, the haters got what they wanted. I really enjoyed the Revel content. But I seem to be one of the few. Shame the reason for selling is purely for financial reasons. Mark my words, you will miss the comfort and versatility the Revel brings to overlanding. Sad to see see it go from someone who wasn't afraid to use it to its full potential. Thank you for all the Revel videos.

Smart move! Debt drives one’s life. So if you don’t like the path, you make decisions like you did!
