Seriously. He could've easily ended up in prison with his entire life ruined (he literally had no parental rights to them). That guy risked it all to help those 2 girls and he probably suffered massive amounts of abuse to ensure they were safe. To top it off Lilli likely picked her own husband based on the modeling of John the father figure in her life. That shows a level of positive impact that few emulate.
I also really find it quite amazing that he could bond with 2 girls that were not biologically his and technically had no responsibility for. I would not blame any man for leaving an abusive GF as you are left in a powerless situation even if you love the kids (they still aren't yours and you have no rights to them as a guardian). The fact he chose to stay shows the resolve of an outstanding individual. I'm not sure I could do it if I were in his situation just out of self preservation.

@@mrod8578 My stepdad did that for us. My dad was in the picture but He was a registered sex offender.
My stepdad is amazing. He's been in my siblings lives since I was 9. He spent hours letting me try to hypnotize him during a ice storm.
Being with him really calmed my mom down. She was a partier and not very maternal. My stepdad was truly our only stable parent. And he made my mom a better parent too.
My stepdad made us all feel special and he took very good care of us. And he loved our mom to be very good care of her.
When he proposed to my mom he made heart shaped pancakes and French toast for everybody with whip cream and strawberries and put the ring in my moms.
He was so sweet and he never crossed any lines. Then on the other hand he was also a very strong masculine male figure. He's a kind of man who with a broken back, Army crawled to the road to get help.
For some reason hes not allowed to go back to Spain. You got kicked out of a country back when he was in the army. Recently learned it was because he was selling pot.
And one of the most heartwarming things, He threatened any boy that came around with hes not afraid to go back to Prison.

So true. At least to me. Before the fire got lit in my inner lighthouse, I was just as dark on the inside as I appeared bright on the outside.
But I wasn't faking it. I can't fake. But I can't divert my attention. I used to focus all my attention on other people, For other people I could be cheerful happy in the best support ever.
But by myself or towards myself, Everything was so dark and cold, I could be warm for others but not myself.
Life Despite being no easier, I'm going to believe more difficult than before Is is beautiful and wonderful once you're no longer stuck in the dark.

Those who truly know me always say..”I can’t believe you turned out the way you did.” I’m glad that’s what people see. I’ll take it as a compliment. Unfortunately, the dark rears it’s ugly head, but that’s when I have to divert my attention elsewhere. ❤️

Yes, a long time ago I was impressed by the passage, "Judge not less yeh be judged". This problem with judging is that ultimately we will be faced with the same judgement which we leverage upon others. We are to always seek to support others and build them up. But we are to also recognize some people can not be saved and need to walk away. I for one had to also walk away from an abusive and manipulative situation.

Hello Lillie, I followed your channel because I was interested in getting started on the carnivore diet but I certainly was not expecting such a touching backstory from you. Sending you lots of love and looking forward to more of your videos

There aren’t many things more sad than having a mother incapable of loving her children …. I was one of those children too and still am , my mother is a malignant narcissist and has been brutal to my brother and myself. Just always know it’s not that you aren’t lovable …. It’s that they aren’t capable of loving in a normal way whether through mental disorder or addiction. You have done amazing at rebuilding your life ! I enjoy your channel so much !

Lillie, you are a light so bright, the darkness your “Mom,” cast could never extinguish. My older sister (only sibling) and I went through similar experiences and had a similar outcome. She can do anything, but chooses to help others and never worries about herself. She is my hero. You are a hero and thank you for sharing your story. You almost had a 39 year old man cry at work yesterday. You deserve all the joy and success you have and will continue to gain. Congratulations again on marrying the man of your dreams. God bless

I'm sorry you had to go through that. I was also emancipated at 17 for similar circumstances. I'm now 43 years old, will be celebrating my 25th wedding anniversary next year to my absolute best friend in the world, and we have raised 2 beautiful girls together. I grew up to be an artist as I'd always hoped I'd be, and now we are working on our dream farm. I have an incredible life. Now that the kids are just about raised, I can focus on myself a bit more and healing the absolutely debilitating autoimmune arthritis I've been dealing with for over 30 years triggered by all the terrible trauma from my childhood. Just started Carnivore a few weeks ago. It's not been easy for me...but none of the good stuff in life is. Keep shining that light, girl!

I've been following your channel ever since. Watching your videos always puts a smile on my face. John's kindness, strength, and his light saved you from darkness, making you shine bright.
