I just recently got this amp. I think it’s all in the EQ. I’m running the same exact pedals you are which blew my mind a bit. I was running the plumes on the clean boost but have since changed to the screamer setting to the right. But I’m gonna try these amp settings today. I’m running it out of a Marshall cab with creambacks. Good video
Exactly, it's all in the EQ and when we talk about EQ we can also mention the CAB, the CAB makes a HUGE difference in the sound, you can use the same amp and pedals as I do but if your cab is different it'll sound completely different form my tone, I have a video on my channel trying to get close to the Slash tone with a Plexi, I tried a bunch of different cabs but the only cab that would get me in the ballpark was the Celestion V30s. Thanks for commenting Matthew!!
Thanks bro!! Totally agree with you, a lot of ppl didn't like the Blue Channel on this amp but I think it really comes to life and sounds killer with an OD in front of it.I'd say blue for rhythm and red for leads on this amp.
Killer tone 😎🤘🏻🎸 this amp sounds phenomenal. I really dig how the blue channel sounds with the boss sd-1. especially like how the green Channel sounds with the boss ce5. Very zakk wylde like.
thanks bro! Yeah, this amp is very pedal friendly, the blue channel sounds great with the SD1, instant Marshall ballpark, the low end is insane too, sounds huge in a mix.
@ I’ll bet it does sound huge in a band mix. That evh amp along with the peavey 6505 and the Randall rg amps are one of the best guitar amps for metal 😎🤘🏻🎸
@@guitarlair thanks. I didn't know this amp had a master. Was just asking because usually tube amps need to be cranked to sound good and a 50 would be too loud for that indoors
@@PainterDans I love the blue channel on this amp, simply because it’s the only EVH where the blue channel is very different from the red channel, the blue channel sounds very raw, it works great to play grunge and 90s stuff and if you boost it then it becomes a rhythm metal machine.

Sounds great.

Sounds HUGE! The SD1 sounds really good into the Blue channel

@@alexskibicki2262 yeah, I have a few amps and the EVH EL34 is by far the meaniest sounding of them all.
It's a very Overkill tone. 💚
super, this amp has gain for days!!
Oof, that sounds good.
thanks buddy!!!
@guitarlair is this the 50 or 100 watt? Just curious if you are playing this at low volumes? Or cranked with attenuation?
@@allboutthemojo it's the 50w version!! I"m playing with the master almost halfway on the sweet spot and using a Torpedo Captor.

Clip C137, it still needs to be done whether you use an OD or not.
@@PK22-b7v no, it doesn’t.
Amp modded? Cap clip
nop. No mods...
@@guitarlairI did the c137 or whatever mod, going back to stock… I like Marshall better, this is very close but misses the sparkle of the marshall

I did the mod & like it better. More clear & open. The el34's are sweeter in the highs than the 6L6's.
