I love the passion for the industry these ladies have. The passion for the clients. It is amazing, looking at their IMDb pages the quality and number of clients they take care of. I know they have a team and all of that, but it is awesome to have any of them as an agent as a goal.
Well i found out that Maha Dahkil represents Gary Ross who did Hunger Games. Leslie Siebert who discovered Tobey Maguire and Hayden Christensen. Debbe Klein who brokered the deal for NCIS and Modern Family. Lorrie Bartlett is the first black head of a Agency's Talent department and represents Zoe Saldana and Megan Fox. Sharon Jackson who represents Jonah Hill, Amy Poehler, and Charlie Kaufman. And finally Blair Kohan who represents Seth Rogan and Paul Rudd. Just a little insight
I like this interview because you can tell how competitive they are with each other and how threatened they are of each other . You can see their insecurities .
I love all these roundtables. I'm on a marathon on this beautiful Labor Day. Please continue producing them. I like how regardless of what level you are at within the film industry, it all boils down to very very hard work and huge rewards. You get what you put in.
I LOVE the round tables, but I'm glad THR doesn't do the agents roundtable anymore. These women dodged all questions and avoided the actual purpose of these discussions.
I enjoy listening to successful people discuss their commitment to their work. While these women were understandably guarded, considering their field, I garnered a lot of good information and inspiration from what they had to say.
Hi Hollywood reporter! Can we expect to see anymore of these Roundtables in the coming years? I love the usual group but I would love to hear more from these perspectives as the times change
Great observation about the jobs that most of us do: "Defeats and victories are short-lived. You just keep going." 9:05 Then, at 9:48 "Whether you made a great play or a horrible play, it is about the next play, you move on.... you have to be in the moment."
I'm sorry but some of the comments below me are completely infantile. Let's see....you're mad or disappointed because they didn't mention their clients' name and you don't get the inside scoop like a bunch of gossip columnists? You people are part of the problem with society and why it's so dumbed down. I for one found this refreshing to hear the agents point of view. They kept it professional yet warm- well...Leslie wasn't exactly warm but still professional so...forgiven.
***** child, please. Stop trying to act like you're going to school me on anything cuz I guarantee you that won't happen. Interpretation not necessary, facts below me back me up. So why you're busy trying to position yourself as my intellectual superior, I suggest you do something a little...not a lot...Just a little more productive.
Marlon Moncrieffe you guys won’t believe how sick I am of men sexualizing women at every occasion. Just LISTEN to what they have to say instead of getting a boner as soon as you see a woman duh.
The Question that should have been asked Actors: How Can we get in front of You or when should we get our video in front you Aspiring Agents(Assistants,Mail Room etc): How can we get to where you are or how did you get to where you are Period.
Everyone is so cagey and uncomfortable. They are pretty much living up to the hard faced agent! Saying that this is a very interesting watch. Body language says it all and you can tell they are extremely serious about there job which is effectively a excellent thing.
A study done by entertainment-securities attorney, John W. Cones, finds that 70 - 80 percent of the top three executives in the MPAA studio/distributors are "politically liberal, not very religious Jewish males of European heritage." Given this, why is there such little diversity in the executive ranks when many are calling for more diversity in Hollywood? Could discrimination (cronyism, nepotism and favoritism) in the executive suites be the cause of the lack of diversity at the talent, crew and conglomerate levels? Does a narrowly defined "control group" of executives only green-light movies that appeal to their interests, values, cultural perspectives and prejudices? Is this why Hollywood studios and New York networks are promoting a liberal agenda and suppressing conservatives? Is this why Hollywood is promoting European style- socialism and anti-Christian values? Is this why Hollywood is promoting the Globalist Agenda Trump is working to roll back? MAINSTREAM -- a 4-part mini series NOT "coming to a theater near you" addresses the lack of diversity in Hollywood and its repercussions on a democratic society. Questions if held today - are packaging deals stealing from artists? Have clients fired you on advise from WGA? What conflicts of interest damage your clients?
Around 30mins I see such an odd, albeit not so odd, self reaffirming of character and experience. Not so much due to competition, but more so as a reaffirmation of living a life that was worth it all. Okay, there was a little competition that got it started. Some tinder without the matches. But I saw relief, and some companionship. Interesting dynamic to see here.
wow, these women made it so tough for the interviewers, they seemed so reluctant ... "you just do what you do" - wow, great answer .... it made for a pretty boring roundtable really.
Jarred Sand Noon No they didn't. If you saw the other roundtable comments, you would know what I'm talking about; especially the director's roundtable with Greengrass and Cuaron.
Interesting. Could tell they were trying to get around the sexism questions because answering honestly could endanger their jobs. That, or they've fed themselves some real bullshit.
These ladies admitted to nothing. I guess they wanted to protect the identities of their clients, but I couldn't listen to this all the way. I mean it wasn't an interview about working women. It was an interview about the agents that represent people in Hollywood and I got nothing about that. Interesting if you want career advice.
These agents are so professional that they are boring. It is like watching Poker on ESPN and not knowing any of the hands. This is, essentially, a video resume for new clients, from a selection culled from THR's Women in Entertainment 2012: Power 100. That said, I found the lack of posturing and close control of body language to be impressive. I would not want to negotiate with any of them.
Tell me about it...it's not like they're instantly recognizable by just telling us which agency they work for...how about telling us a sample of who they rep...thumbs down.
I thought it was hilarious when asked about how do they cope in a predominantly male industry they all express how horrible it was but when it was time for the black lady agent to talk they all kept slightly cutting her off not really allowing her to have the stage..... talk about no diversity on top of no diversity lol
Everything they say is so measured and half the questions they are afraid to answer. Honestly maybe if they opened up more there would be more than two roundtables with agents.
Lets be honest here, Agents are the murderers of the creative process. Many Actors have lost out on roles created for them due to Agents greed & interference.
They act like they're part of the creative process - they're dreaming if they think that's true. They're secretaries. Nothing wrong with that, but that's what they are. The art gets done without them. As a writer, I found this a complete waste of time and found no insights.
This is what happens when you interview a bunch of women and no men. Very weak content and they were so reluctant to answer simple questions. I was hoping to really learn something but that didn't happen.

Learned more here than that entire fucking interview.
I like this interview because you can tell how competitive they are with each other and how threatened they are of each other . You can see their insecurities .

Thank you to the Hollywood Reporter for this first ever roundtable discussion with Hollywood agents. Superb.
I LOVE the round tables, but I'm glad THR doesn't do the agents roundtable anymore. These women dodged all questions and avoided the actual purpose of these discussions.
Its not because they're agents.....
"The toughest decision is making a decision"....brilliant
I don't want to be an agent, but this interview is still great to watch for anyone. A lot of people should watch this
I enjoy listening to successful people discuss their commitment to their work. While these women were understandably guarded, considering their field, I garnered a lot of good information and inspiration from what they had to say.
Like what?
I cannot believe there is a roundtable for agents.
Hi Hollywood reporter! Can we expect to see anymore of these Roundtables in the coming years? I love the usual group but I would love to hear more from these perspectives as the times change
Ladies . . . tell us about the Illuminati.
Do they know what that is
Great observation about the jobs that most of us do: "Defeats and victories are short-lived. You just keep going." 9:05 Then, at 9:48 "Whether you made a great play or a horrible play, it is about the next play, you move on.... you have to be in the moment."

yup, at 43:00. I stuck it out... mostly cause of the gorgeous agent in glasses.
THANK YOU
All the rejection letters they send out are just heartbreaking
The lady with the librarian glasses is pretty awesome, just saying. :)
Devin Hylton
Yeah, she was the hottest one there.
Marlon Moncrieffe you guys won’t believe how sick I am of men sexualizing women at every occasion. Just LISTEN to what they have to say instead of getting a boner as soon as you see a woman duh.
@@lujorom9172 A problem with male desire ? Oh, and LISTEN to them ??? The most uninteresting peoiple on the planet ? Sure..
The Question that should have been asked
Actors: How Can we get in front of You or when should we get our video in front you
Aspiring Agents(Assistants,Mail Room etc): How can we get to where you are or how did you get to where you are
Period.
Post more tips for upcoming agents!!! Knowledge for agents.
they didnt open up at all ...smh
Where the fuck is Ari Gold!?
I'd change the name from full uncensored. Most of them, seem a bit fony as far as how they really represent artists... relationship wise.
uncensored? not really
This is why we can't have nice things.
I liked this interview, great women
wtf there's discussion and roundtable for the agents, that supposed to be secret on their business
Everyone is so cagey and uncomfortable. They are pretty much living up to the hard faced agent! Saying that this is a very interesting watch. Body language says it all and you can tell they are extremely serious about there job which is effectively a excellent thing.

Most of this is redundant, tedious, and vague.
Where's Newman, Zimmer and Taylor?
I'm actor. I'd like to work with people like this.
Questions if held today - are packaging deals stealing from artists? Have clients fired you on advise from WGA? What conflicts of interest damage your clients?
Think I just feel in love with Blair Kohan
Around 30mins I see such an odd, albeit not so odd, self reaffirming of character and experience. wow, these women made it so tough for the interviewers, they seemed so reluctant ... "you just do what you do" - wow, great answer .... it made for a pretty boring roundtable really.
Blair Kohan = Parkey Posey doppelganger
+Kevin Samuel With a pinch of Tina Fey & Julia Louis Dreyfus
actors and actresses
All the girls complaining about, "where are the women?" on the other roundtables obviously skipped over this one.
They meant strong female characters in leading roles within the film industry.
Jarred Sand Noon No they didn't. If you saw the other roundtable comments, you would know what I'm talking about; especially the director's roundtable with Greengrass and Cuaron.
jed52 As an actress myself, when I'm talking with my peers and we ask where the women are, we mean in a specific area.
what a crap interview...who do they rep? what kind of deals have they done? tell us the details!
Interesting. Could tell they were trying to get around the sexism questions because answering honestly could endanger their jobs. That, or they've fed themselves some real bullshit.
excellentlunch
They were lying because you didn't get the condemnation that you wanted?
These ladies admitted to nothing. I guess they wanted to protect the identities of their clients, but I couldn't listen to this all the way. I mean it wasn't an interview about working women. If it is was all men around the table you'd hear all about it.

Inspiring women

One more thing, the website for William Morris Endeavor SUCKS!
I thought it was hilarious when asked about how do they cope in a predominantly male industry they all express how horrible it was but when it was time for the black lady agent to talk they all kept slightly cutting her off not really allowing her to have the stage..... talk about no diversity on top of no diversity lol
Blair Kohan is actually pretty hot
Her husband created "Boston Common" & "Will & Grace", her sister-in-law Jenji created "Weeds" and "Orange Is The..."
The lady in the sleevless blouse (Leslie Siebert I think) looks like Vera Farmiga to me.
yaaawwwn
Anything good in this video for screenwriters? save me the hour if you can :P
Everything they say is so measured and half the questions they are afraid to answer. Honestly maybe if they opened up more there would be more than two roundtables with agents.
Its called the internet...look it up.
Blair Kohan looks cool right?
he quit his job, for his family lol lol
Is it just me or the Brunettes are usually in power positions?
very lovely women
LOL! Great question! "Where the fuck is Ari Gold?"
I said the same thing LOL
Ari Emanuel would have done this but he was busy working.
Lets be honest here, Agents are the murderers of the creative process. Many Actors have lost out on roles created for them due to Agents greed & interference.
When has that ever happened?
They act like they're part of the creative process - they're dreaming if they think that's true. They're secretaries. Nothing wrong with that, but that's what they are. The art gets done without them. As a writer, I found this a complete waste of time and found no insights.

It's interesting how all the agents here are females
Got bored watching this. They were treading so carefully making sure they didn't name names or give anything away. Not worth recording. NEXT!
?
what a bunch of mares
And now where the fuck is ARI GOLD!?
Leslie Siebert is unpleasant.
Frauds
This is what happens when you interview a bunch of women and no men. Very weak content and they were so reluctant to answer simple questions. I was hoping to really learn something but that didn't happen.
Why is it all women?
BOOOOOORRRRIIING. Why are they talking about 'clients'? Name some names.
id marry all of em to get into this business....except the black one and old one maybe
